It’s been just over three years since Linc Williams (aka BaldGroove) announced a feature length documentary film on vaping. The project was crowdfunded on IndieGoGo, raising nearly $22,000 from Jan 2, 2012 – March 31, 2012.

So…where is the movie?

As of this writing, no footage has been released, and WeAreVapers.com was taken down over a year ago. No one is even talking about it anymore. This is a documentary that never was. Perhaps a more important question to ask is:

Where is Linc Williams, and what has he done with $22,000?

2nd video (with Linc Williams on the front). Listen from about 16:30 - 18:30.

They discuss transparency. How they are going to document where the money is coming from, where it is being spent, donating profits from the movie to CASAA. Okay so...where is this information? Where did the money go?

To be fair wearevapers.com was still a working website around Aug 2014 last I checked, there was no new information on it and it looked the same as to when they open it. We have brought it up once to twice here on Vapors lounge every 3 months or so it seems. Luke Doka, Kyle Stogsdill and I seem to be the only ones that remember about this here anymore! #teamneverforget Here some interesting facts.
-Drew A. Gliem(May he RIP) fronted $10,000 for this project
-Lou Ritter and Linc Williams are still part of many FB vapers groups
- Last update I heard of it was Sept 2014
-https://soundcloud.com/vp-live/we-are-vapers
-(listen to this as it is the only latest information we know of the project)
-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tAbIn3CmGE is the only footage I have seen when they went to Italy to film some of the documentary
- Stephen Mad (Smokie) Raffled off his own "slightly used ( 5 times ) Red Racing Strip (Saber-touch MOD) that had powder coated end caps, and come with a pass-through insert" to help get funding for this documentary. (funds unknown but a sabertouch MOD was a very expensive mod at the time of the raffle)

I love vaping don't get me wrong, but I don't think I could sit through an entire movie about it.. just saying..

Maybe if it was a short film or something.. but I can barely get through an entire action movie nowadays.. guess my attention span just isn't what it used to be

hbomb, there are many, many vapers that remember this besides you and 2-3 others. Most have given up, but I will not. I contributed to the film and I am very close with the original campaign members. Unfortunately, every time I question the status of the film I get my hand slapped or silenced. Lou has stepped down from the project, so there's no point in prodding him. Dimitri however is very much in the public eye, and worth poking.

VapedCrusader, it was supposed to be a documentary about the birth of vaping, how it came to be, how it changed and saved lives.. opening the eyes of the skeptical and doubtful non-believers of vaping and it's pros vs. the cons of smoking. Your personal attention span may not like the idea of it, but imagine how many eyes and ears would be enlightened to hear the truth, backed by research and personal testimonies of people that made the switch and want to encourage others to do the same.

And to you, spartanstew? No. Joe wasn't even present in the community yet. Don't get cute.

If the filmmaker spent all the money and the result was footage that is too boring to make a movie out of and now he has to wait with fingers crossed that some regulations will be passed so that he can document people's reactions to it in order to make a more interesting documentary, then a) doesn't seem like he had a good plan to begin with and b) seems he's HOPING for the collapse of the vaping world just so he can make his documentary. Sounds like Truman Capote waiting for and hoping his subjects get executed so that he can finish writing In Cold Blood

Long ago ( 2 + YEARS AGO ) I heard about this but then nothing was ever brought up about it . Why do folks think , if it concerns a person who vapes they are more honest ,dedicated or intelligent than anyone else . It's a business to most, no different than any other . I have to think after all this time they ( not to mention any names ) .should have explained what happened .

To me, the funniest part is these vaping advocates and their minions are so quick to bash us for rallying around @VaporJoes and his network. But at the same time, they stand behind Linc and Dimitri, who basically swindled their own fan base.

Bump for an update...since I know updates on any of this seem to be few and far between.

I have been pursuing several leads, and have been in contact with major players in the game, trying to find answers. I will state that some of the rumors that have been circulating are false. I have managed to locate who has the footage, and it is not who a lot of people were pointing to. I'll just leave it at that for now.

I have a good feeling that within the next two weeks, I should be able to release all of this information to the public. Donors will finally have some closure.

The whole thing was a sham from start to (never being) finish(ed). Here's a guy who took this on for the sole sake of elevating himself in the community. Linc Williams had no other motivation for starting this project. He wasn't a filmmaker, had no experience in taking on a large production, and it's been obvious that he has no project management skills. He seized his notoriety to become involved in an e-liquid company and AEMSA, where he will make money, and the documentary was basically shelved. The money is gone and the footage is essentially useless.

Dimitri is no better. Here's one more bandwagon that he jumped on, hoping to spread his influence, and it failed. His tone in that interview with Linc Williams to me, spoke louder than any actual words he said. It was a "how dare you" message to the community. No skin off his butt, either though. He's sitting on a few different boards and has a flock who lingers on his every word. What does he care?

[EDIT]: Grammar (or lack thereof)

Actually Dimitri is worse since this is not the first time in the pony up rodeo, just a bloated sell out doing bloated sell out things... If a single vapor thinks he is not out for himself instead of supporting you think again.

Just some common sense here and just my opinion but no one expected an HBO mini series . Great documentaries have been made in less time and for a fraction of that much money . Not to mention any names but there have been 45+ min. vids by a certain reviewer ,that had lots of info . ,and entertained .If asked , I am sure, he would say they did not cost 40 grand to make . Where there is a will , there is a way and a snow job is just a bunch of snow . Just my two cents .

Back a couple years ago you could still bring the site up at archive.org - the last excuses, promises and delays were good for a shits & giggles read. But since someone else owns wearevapers.com now (completely unrelated) and robots are blocked by the new owner you can't access the old site archive any more. Pook.
