Its been a little while since I made an initial impressions thread, but since the V2 Vapor Flask clones are finally in circulation, and with the coming of the V3 40W Temperature Protected clones starting to ship I thought it would be a good idea.

Initially I was put off by any SXK electronics due to the rollcoaster ride of the DNA Zero clones, but Cigabuy.com offered to send me the V2 Flask for review so I accepted. This is not a review, its just my early thoughts regarding what I received.

So the V2 Flask clone I received is SXK and for the most part I like it a lot. I am in love with the finish of it, from the way that it looks, but most especially the tactile feel of it. Its also a lot smaller than I would have expected.

Finish is flaweless, it is so buttery smooth feeling in the hand, yet it is not slippery. No gaps or irregularities in the top plate, usb port is straight, 510 connection is totally on point. My ONE issue is that the battery slots are a little too tight. Once I put my Samsung's in it I could not get them back out. So its like a permanent battery install which I am not really happy about it. The good news is that the batteries I put in it are brand new, so they will last a long while ... but I am also forced into USB charging only.

Been vaping it for 24 hours now and I can already tell that this is going to run for at least 2 or 3 days before I need to recharge.

smFVu6V.jpg

This is the same chip that was in the V1 and V2 Yosen DNA Zero but ... I think they have tweaked this chip for the SXK Flask because there are still some differences. First the bad, the firing delay is longer than both the V1 and V2 version .. approx 4 seconds. The only way around it is to click the fire button 3x ... YES 3X, not 2x. It still has the other "cloneish" quirks as well, like "screen steal" mode o_O

As far as actual power delivery, this one feels better than both the V1 and V2 chip IMO ... not as punchy as the V1, but also not as flat as the V2, its in the middle of these for me. The chips reads resistance .1 below my SXmini and SX Zero.

It definitely puts out 30W, in fact it does slightly more. I did quickly meter it with my inline and with 1.7 at 30W/7.1v display, actual output was 7.34v on my inline meter. At 10W/4.1v display, actual output was 4.17v.

The V3 40W Temperature Protected Flask clones are coming, and I am getting both the Kangxin 40W TP and the Waidea 40W TP. The Kangxin is supposed to ship on Monday via DHL, so if it goes as scheduled I should have it by the end of next week. The Waidea Times version I will not have until next month even as I ordered the sample back in November

Do the V3 you ordered have USB charging? I heard Kangxin's VF doesn't have usb charging.

You are correct the Kangxin version of the 40W TP does not have a usb charging port, which is ... so janky. But I am in it purely for the review, and testing their chip.

The Waidea Times version will have a usb charging port as it is supposed to be a 1:1, the Kangxin version is not 1:1.

I think I got the same kind of flask but mine is in black and from fast tech. ive found it can step down to a volt and go up to 8.4 its a pretty decent clone board.

Yeah, if you got the V2 from FT it is the same SXK made Flask, same as Infinite rebranded. And I do agree, the one good thing about SXK's DNA style chips is that they step down voltage to to 2.2v tested. I prefer my chips to have buck and boost because I like to sub ohm at lower wattages. :)

I'm actually hesitant about putting evolv board in since it's performing so nice.

Been reading this just about everywhere on the internet. I think there was even a guy here on VU saying he tried several different battery brands and couldn't find any that fit.

If you can live with the fire delay I would say don't .. I do feel like this chip is better than both the V1 and V2 version of their chips in the Zero Modz clone. Oddly though, my firing delay is worse. That is my only gripe with the performance thus far. I have timed the delay 4x, and its 4 secs ... I can speed it up if I triple click the fire button.

Buck/Boost is a redeeming factor, and the fact that they did a really nice job with the body. I genuinely like the vape I get with this Flask clone.

My Samsungs do fit, they just fit so snug that once I pushed them inside I could not get them back out .. and that was with removing the vendor sticker. The only reason I am not totally bummed is that the batts are brand new, and good quality so I don't "NEED" to replace them anytime soon.

@Nikkita do you know what rate the USB charges? It would be great it it was a 1amp charger since its dual batt.

So.Glad to see you are satisfied with these. I'm not normally a clone guy, but between the janky authentic with its high price to quality ratio, and the fact that the clone seems to be worth the money, I just might be in the market for one of these. So my question to you Nikkita, is this. Is there a way to tell which version or maker of this clone is being sold by the various outlets? Thx.

Thanks for that info, because I also heard from someone else that their Samsung batts come right out also, so now I know that my battery slots are a defect ... wahhhhhh :(

I am jealous, go way now Dre and take your removable battery Vapor Flask with you! LOL :p

Yes .. via 510 connection and battery caps (copper/copper Kangxin vs stainless/brass SXK), and machining of the body .. The battery caps on the SXK look identical to the real deal, fit and finish, whereas the Kangxin battery caps are a little hokey looking.

The only reason to buy a Kangxin VF is if you want to try their 40W TP clone chip. Jury is still out as to whether the Kangxin TP chip is any good. Their DNA style 50W chips sucks, confirmed. ;) If you want a V2 30W get SXK ... the materials used are better, and is a 1:1 to the V2 Flask. I can identify the Flasks on sight, so if you come across one you are not sure of, post a link here and I will check it out.

I cannot believe all the crap reports on the authentic :( I was such a fan of the authentic and thought the real deal was worth the money, and I don't feel that way often. Damn, I was wrong! You can look at my clone pics and see it looks better than a lot of the real Flasks out there recently ... although my battery slots were cut a little too small though. But not functional flaws on mine ...

I'm going to assume the "v3" 40 watt temp controlled vapor flasks that came in where Kangxin (KX-40D on the startup logo). If so, they need some serious work. Constantly turns itself off so that when you press the fire button, it reboots, and asks if you have a new coil or not. Also, if you lock it and it goes to sleep long enough, it boots up and then will start firing without actually unlocking. Returned mine and got a 50 watt vapor flask. It does none of those shenanigans.

Thanks so much for the info Nikkita! I am so with you on the real thing. I'm soooooo glad the were impossible to get when they came out! Forced me to wait. I'm gonna FT one of these jammies next week as i believe they have the better one and I'm just looking for the 30w. Thanks again.

That looks like a very good clone. Unfortunately, they also copied the stupidly tight battery compartments...

I notice that the battery cap slots aren't parallel, like the original's are (but who gives a shit about that), and that they used standard Philips screws on top rather than 1.3 mm hex screws that almost nobody has a tool for (good, that).

I'd buy in an instant with a genuine Evolv DNA40 board in it - which I actually love, and works very well for me.

You're welcome hun, I am with ya :) A buddy of mine just grabbed one off of FT last night, and today Focalecig listed the V3 40W TP chip clone by Kangxin so I can't wait to give that one a go as well.

With regards to a 30W I actually prefer this clone chip over an Evolv 30D because the clone chip has buck/boost and the Evolv 30D does not .. I can't wait to see how this clone DNA 40 TP chip stacks up though. There are only a handful of user feedbacks available on the net thus far, and so far all are good.

Damn. In terms of finish it looks far better than the Kangxin (I really don't like the anodized aluminium look), but wow, that firing delay is a no-no for me :(

You got a duff one friend. I have had one for over a week now, very well made and the TC performs faultlessly. The battery fits perfectly (not tight at all) There is no wake up in normal use. If it is a really long time since it was vaped on it may want a coil check. There are no springs in it anywhere, presumably to help with measuring the critical coil resistance changes when heated up. $70 on Focalecig with free shipping now although I got mine direct from Kangxin. Cost me more because of the DHL shipping. Some may not like the copper 510, not a problem for me. If it is looked after it will be fine, very good threads with a screw adjuster, no springs. No USB charging on it. It`s a pain anyway unless you have two of them, never use it. Sorry you got a bad one, but shit happens.

So is the temp control fairly accurate with NI200 coils?

Yes it seems to be fine. I dont have the original chip so I`ve got nothing to compare it with, but a guy I know who has both reckons he cant tell the difference. No connection/resistance hassles at all here :)

Speaking of Kangxin 40W VF, mine just landed this evening. Haven't had a chance to use them yet but all of your feedback on AAEC is very encouraging. :) I am actually chatting with Waidea at this very moment, and their TP clone should be shipping to me by this weekend according to my contact. That one is slated to be more 1:1 so we will see.

I will update my experience with the Kangxin once I actually get to use it.

Thanks for your review !

On the finish I usually agree, don't care much for anodized aluminum, but this red one is not bad, not super textured, still has a smoothness to it. I love the finish on the SXK though, so buttery smooth and nice in the hand. I agree again, that long firing delay is my fault with it ... other than that I like SXK Flask, my jury is still out on the Kangxin because I haven't used it yet.

It wasn't just one, unfortunately. The shop owner actually refunded most all of the ones he sold and shipped them back. First time I've ever been called by a business owner and asked if I want to return it before. When I spoke to him later about it, he told me he sent 35 back in total. Possibly a bad batch, but I'm not one to take that kind of risk. If it's glitching one way, may very well glitch another.

Then wait for the Waidea Vapor Flask clone, that one will have an SS 510. I am with Robby though, with some care and attention with installing atties I am not very worried about it.

Waidea times already has one TP clone chip out on the market in the 40W Hana clones, those went out a month ago .. haven't heard much about their performance positive or negative. But if there were any bumps with it, being that they did the Hana clone first they should have worked out any troubles if there were any .. According to Waidea the two chips have a different shaped board for each, so the one in the Hana clone is slightly different.

Nicole, can you beat up this mod with NI200 coils and really see if it can adequately adjust temp? I'd like to know. Me and my buds are willing to pull the trigger on 50+ mods for our local vape group if the unit is even reasonable in the temp control.

I am pretty certain that the first Kangxin batch had a programming glitch through talking with them while ordering ......................... not easy, there only seems to be one person manning the message system all the time on Alibaba and the English was not good, far better than my Chinese though ;)

I can set this thing to 420F, put a dripper on it, vape it dry and not get a burn taste or any scorching on the cotton wick. By the way, it fires straight from sleep mode, not sure if I mentioned that before.

Watts please. 20W, 30W? 420F is kinda low, but if it works...anyway... please post your results. Makes our decision easier ( or more difficult....)

Hope all going forward are glitch free. Didn't make much difference to me as I probably won't ever build with nickel wire anyway. I'm allergic to nickel and so not about to try to vape off it lol. The 50 watt is working very well for me with the Joyetech Delta II tank on top. Really love how the vapor flask fits in the hand so nicely.

Set at 15Watts, hence the low temperature, the coil was 0.13ohms. Other factors are involved though, your wicking performance (if it`s not wicking very well the temp control will kick in earlier) Long lung vapes can have the same result, if the wicking cant keep up with the demand, the coil will get hotter and the resistance of it will rise. I`m a mouth vaper so it worked fine for me at that setting. Bedtime hours ago in the Uk lol, catch up tomorrow :)

I did that. I was having overheat errors every 4 puffs. I knew they only connected the negative batt conn with a chinky wire. I went to fix it by attaching the neg batt connection to the atty and then figured to replace the board itself. yeah it is better but the chinky board was pretty good I must say

How did you take the up down buttons off? They appear glued on. This one from fast tech has some red looking glue they don't pop off.

I will as soon as my nickel wire get here ... I had some from my VS rDNA but I lost it o_O I shouldn't have waited until the last minute to go find it, I just assumed I would remember where I put it.

Also waiting on a new set of batts because my new Samsung's went into the SXK flask .. I put a pair of older batts in it just to make sure they fit well, and the device was working, and it is. Fired a .8 ohm build a few times at 20W and all was good .. so stay tuned and I will let you know once I get the TP going. :)

I can confirm this .. this was the most failed attempt that communicating that I ever experienced. I didn't even know they had shipped these to me until DHL called last night to alert me to today's delivery. o_O
