Loosening O-rings?

So, I have a bit of a problem. I have a Tobeco Marquis-style RDA. I'm loving it. The flavor is better than my other four favourite RDAs put together. However, it has one major problem. The O-rings on the base of the deck are way too tight. I shredded the first pair of o-rings on the base over the course of a week's use. I replaced them, applied high VG e-juice to the groves, put new o-rings on, and applied e-juice to the outside of the rings as well. This has helped a little, but they're still way too tight for regular use.

Anyone know how to loosen them or where to get smaller o-rings?

Why not work the inside of the barrel with a little 220 sandpaper? I bet the first ridge is also rather sharp.

I had a similar problem with one of my RDAs. So I swapped out the o-ring with one from an unused RDA that was the right diameter but slightly thinner. Coincidentally, that other RDA had o-rings that I felt were slightly too thin for it.
