Dripping and going through too much juice

Hello all, I am new so I'll introduce myself real quick. You can call me Johnny and I have been dripping for a few months now after stopping smoking. I have a few questions and would like your opinions on a few things.

I am using a Copper Vanilla mod and I had everything set up by a guy "who seemed to know what he was doing" at a local vape shop and as I can remember he had my mod set up to run at .25 ohms on a 2600 mAH IMR 18650 battery.

Problem is that I am going through a 30ML of juice in less than a week, and the price of juice is pretty expensive but I love the clouds and flavor I am getting.

What can I do to reduce the amount of juice I am burning through ?
Can I switch to a tank like the Kanger Sub-tank or the Aspire to save juice?
Can I get a different battery?
Drill out my holes?

I need any advice/opinions

and If I posted in the wrong spot I am sorry, I am just getting here on the forums.

30ml in a week isn't all that much. You can find good juice for around $10 a 30ml bottle all over the place online, you might even want to spend more to get higher quality. Certainly you can't say that's expensive compared to smoking cigarettes.

Welcome to the VU and the world if vaping. If you are worried about spending too much money on juice, you could buy big bottles from http://wholesale.heartlandvapes.com/bulk-eliquid.html 250ml for under $20

WOW, if that works out that would be AWESOME! I had no idea... I have seen sites like that but usually it's just vegetable glycerin and no nicotine... GREAT!!! Thank you!

I was smoking about 6 packs a week at about $6.50 a pack so that is around $45
Now when I drip I buy 30ML for around $15-$24 and go through one 30ML and a half for a week so roughly that is
dang near about the same. I was hoping to save some money when I drip lol but I guess beggars can't be choosers when you want a healthier alternative

What would a tank mod like the Kanger Sub-Tank do for me ? I have heard people say that it eats through juice and other people have said that it saves a little more juice and plus the thing looks like a beast.

Even at your top price of $24 at one and a half bottles a week that's still only $36. I'm assuming you're getting them from b@ms. Search around online, you'll find it much cheaper. But also, yes, sub-ohming like that will eat up your juice too. You can increase your ohms or you can get a good tank and combine that with getting some cheaper juice you'll be all set. Why do you want to vape at .25 ohms anyway? Is there a reason? Have you compared it to vaping at, say, .8 ohms?

"tanks" is not a real universal term. A tank with a disposable coil, (known as a clearomizer generally) will eat the least juice (unless it is a sub ohm type tank. Generally running a .5 ohm coil head). Those clearo tanks also produce much less vapor.
And RTA, sometimes called a tank too, uses more juice than a clearo but less than an RDA. Not as much vapor, but not much less than an RDA when built sub ohm.

If you like dripping, and like the cloud/flavor aspect, your issue is really juice. You either need to DIY juice, or find a supplier that sells larger quantities for a better price.

www.vapemall.com has good prices on juice too. You can get a 30 mil sample pack (150 mil total) for about 30 bucks. Though, for me, the flavors are too light. I like strong flavors.

Well I had been using one of those vape pens and I seen the guys huge clouds at the vape shop and I asked him whats the point of dripping and how I could get those big clouds and he suggested to drip on a mech mod so I bought one and he set up the coils at .25 ohms because I told him I wanted flavor and plumes.

Who am I to judge? I vape on a .2 set up.
But to start you out that low is just asinine on his part.

I should ask outside of imr 18650 what batteries are they?
the amp load can vary a great deal and that .25 on certain batteries can be a violent combination and not a good violent combo.

ok so if you're going to chase clouds, your going to eat up a lot of juice. Not much way around that. Maybe you shouldn't worry about the money you should be saving and just be happy that you're saving your health. :)

I have not yet had any major problems that raise a huge safety concern, but I can tell you everything that is listed on the battery. Maybe you can help me find out more about that as well!

Cloud chasing is fun, and I want to get bigger and bigger so I need to upgrade and I am really thinking about that Kanger Subtank.
I am feeling better after quitting smoking for several short years, now it's disgusting to even smell a smoker that just finished a smoke out in the cold weather... gross.. I tempted to taste one and I simply put it down.. Maybe ill buy two mods...
One for chasing the clouds " my vanilla mod " and one for an every day vape that isn't going to be to expensive.. one that I can use that sub tank with.. I am so hyped to get that... are they really that great? It says that it can be used in 2 ways... as a clearomizer and a RBA.
Freemind hit on the topic in a early post on the thread...

but what battery?

I just posted a picture that is identical to the one that I am using and gave you the specific details.
It's kind of hard to read the name brand of the battery, so what else information do you need ?
sorry... lol forgive me :|

More vapor equals more e-liquid used.
Can't be helped.
If you insist on producing less vapor, close your air holes more or lower your wattage.

So the 30A is basically a peaked rating of the battery then ? I really need to measure these coils out and figure out what im running.
The first thing you need to do every time before firing a coil, is to check it's resistance, even if a high quality 30A is used.

Wouldn't that mean taking the RDA off and testing it with a meter every time I go to take a draw? sounds extensive, but safety should always come first, you're right.

Not every time you take draw, just every time you build and install a new coil.

I wouldn't trust any battery without a name on it or one that can't be referenced by the number on it. Efest, sony, panasonic, and many more. That battery, to me, looks like a cheap rewrap. Not saying I know all the batteries by any means, just saying you should use trusted batteries for safety's sake. Also, more clouds = more juice.

Well I realized I can get a good amount of clouds with different mixes, and it would be cheaper than buying %100 VG all the time and on top of that cheaper to make my own. I am also new, and with all this information I am going to look into better batteries and a few variable options that I can switch out from time to time.

I have a sub tank sitting in customs now. I do already own a Billow (RTA) and it is not as airy as a good RTA like a Doge, but more airy than my TOBH. Produces a metric shit ton of clouds, but no disposable coil option. RTA only.
Enough people have given positive feedback of the Kanger, that I have confidence it will be a good atty.

I have recently been doing DIY juice, because my local B&M's are expensive as fuck to buy juice from. I bought from vape mall, rolling the dice if it would be juice I liked. It just doesn't have enough flavor to make me happy. I don't feel robbed or anything, just not my style of juice. But I have spend a good deal of money, blindly trying juice (no sampling) and I would have been better off with the money wasted on the crap shoot, to just have stuck that money into starting DIY. There are MANY recipes and when followed, will yield you a good useable juice. I tend to take my own path, with juice making.

Yeah Ill have to measure it again to make sure nothing is going wrong, i think the coils may be looking a little rough as well.

I've been going through 30mls a day the last week or so. So 30mls a week isn't much..unless I just have a problem and vape way too much ;) :p

I really hope you're making your own juice or that is going to get expensive really quick!!!!
I am saving my SpaceJam and Suicide Bunny glass bottles I get from the vape shop so that when I start making my own juice I have something nice to put them in.

There are so many options out there on what mixes to use.. anyone on here have a personal favorite when it comes down to VG/PG ratio to get a longer lasting vape out of the juice? Of course more is to be learned when I get going on it!!

Sorry Johnny,
dripping = juice flowin and clouds blowing there is no stretching it.
If you are not DIYing your juice check out vapemall and ITC and a few others for higher vg bulk stuff to maintain ya and keep the premium for special vape sessions.

For diy I roll 50/50 for my mom for her tank, or 70/30 vg/pg with some water to thin it out.
For me 85+ vg depneding on flavor and some distilled water.

Since you noted before you were a dripper, you will only need VG, not PG unless you REALLY want it. If you were running something with a tank, you would want some PG.

Most flavors are PG based, so you'll end up with a little in your juice mix anyway.

You can buy bottles cheap enough, if you want to buy a few. Plastic bottles are usually dirt cheap. Glass not so much. And a plastic bottle taking a tumble out of your pocket is less likely to shatter, than a glass bottle.

I'll add here, that once you do DIY, after finding juices that suit you, cost likely will never again bother you. It's so cheap to make your own juice, it fugging ridiculous.

I want a pure banana split flavor badly, it seems like a lot but not all of these flavors I get from the shop like Mothers Milk, Sucker Punch, Pluto and what have you start out so good and then after dripping them for a few days they're just not all that good... especially mothers milk.. it gets nasty after a while.. don't get me wrong it's godly at first and then its sour.

I guess it's only like $2.50 for a entire 250 ML bottle of VG, for some STRANGE reason they won't sell the PG and they insist that you have to have a special license to sell the nicotine.

Basically what's needed is VG/PG, flavor, nicotine and some drip bottles, syringes " one separate for the nicotine "
Do you know if you HAVE to steep them? because right now I only have 3 bottle saved and I am going to be SOL haha

I'll give you a quick rundown of what I have/do for DIY. And the bannan split flavor, may exist as a flavor ready to use (meaning your won't have to blend flavors to make Banana Spilt).

I buy VG and PG by the gallon, from duda diesel (.com).
I buy nic from either RTS vapes (250 mil) or my freedom smokes (1 liter sizes).
Flavors I get from E cig Express or Wizard or RTS.
Syringes I acquire locally.
Pipettes, from Amazon (glass bottles too).

All syringes I use, are ONLY for one thing, such as nic or VG. I rinse after each use. If you get into menthol flavoring, use a pipette and throw it away when you are done. Menthol will contaminate anything it touches. You'll never rinse it out (unless it's a glass bottle).
Buying in quantity saves money. Same with flavorings. I tend to shy away from Wizard, as they only sell small vials. I generally buy flavors I know I like in 30 mil bottles. I don't use anything excessively enough to buy bigger quantities.

When you start mixing DIY, start with SMALL batches. 5 mil at a time, to see if you like the juice. DO NOT go mixing 30 mils or big batches until you have a recipe pinned down.

Steeping (or more properly called aging) is beneficial for SOME flavors, such as tobaccos and custards. You can accelerate the steep process with a crock pot set on warm, with enough water in it to cover the bottles.

Wizard labs is good for someone wanting to try flavors (small vials) or someone that mixes only a little juice.

Taste is subjective, so a certain flavor, (lets say apple) you may prefer from on maker over the others.

I use mainly TFA and FA flavors. I do have ones from other makers. NicVape are the next on my list to try, maybe.

are the already mixed flavors going to be more expensive than the ones that you have to mix to get the flavor you want?
Of course I want to make it in bulk that way I never run out,

No, not really. A flavor is a flavor. They all run close to the same price for the same amount, with EACH individual maker.

Adding:
30 mils of a particular flavor, used at 5% of the finished juice, should yield about 600 mils of juice.

Simple carburation...take in more air, less juice...you might miss flavor, nicotine, but use less expensive, flavorful juice, OR more air, or thin-out yer juice..

From this post alone, I branched out to researching so much. I've learned an enormous amount of information just by branching off this post. Thank you OP and thank you other posters.

I went from researching various other "cheaper" solutions, to finding out what flavorings have what type of compounds, and how most if not ALL compounds are covered by the FDA, which separately are deemed completely one hundred percent safe by the FDA besides nicotine, which c'mon we all know why that is haha. Other than that.... it's aaallll good.

I was generally ticked off over the whole various politicians trying to control vaping, stating it's unsafe and what not.... but after what I learned in the past two hours, I'm gonna have to say.... being morbidly pissed off is simply just putting it nicely as to how I feel right about now about those asshats.

Thanks for reading my rant.

I went from researching various other "cheaper" solutions, to finding out what flavorings have what type of compounds,
Could you please give me an example and maybe a source to follow up on so I can also learn what certain flavorings/Juices are made up of ? Id really like to know more about these liquids.

and how most if not ALL compounds are covered by the FDA, which separately are deemed completely one hundred percent safe by the FDA besides nicotine,
Just for the sake of a good post, did the FDA cover/deem those compounds safe only in certain ways, or was vaping and inhaling them included in their conclusion? That is another question that I have not had an answer to. They are safe, but are they safe in the way that they are being vaped?

I was generally ticked off over the whole various politicians trying to control vaping
The fight over Good and Evil...The FDA trying to regulate e-cigs as Tobacco products ? I have also read that the FDA has already coordinated them as such... and then I turn around and find the EXACT OPPOSITE...so it's hard to find an accurate source who can give me answers.
I am not really huge in this section of the test..

Does anyone have any more accurate information on if the FDA has already acted or if nothing has happened yet? Would these so called regulations only have influence on actual " electronic cigarettes " or would those regulations affect Mechanical and other types of Mods as well?
yes!! I believe it to be a bad thing for both smokers and vapers and ecig smokers and so on.

It's way to late and maybe I am rambling but what does any of this have to do with going through to much juice in a dripper? LMFAO
