good starter?

I was looking into a mvp v2 and really liked it but idk if its a good starter or not. I smoke about 1 pack of wood tip blacks a week. I was also looking at the atmos dart. Which one do you guys think would be better or if you have other suggestions id like to hear them :) my price range is around $40

The MVP series has been around forever and is still one of the best bits of kit out there. They are reliable and almost indestructible.

My friend does this thing where he doesnt use a tank but just drips the juice on i think cotton and then vapes it. Could i do that with the mvp?

It is against forum policy to discuss dry herb vaping.

Yea i looked more into dripping and it seems like its alot of work. Plus i want to start vaping because at work im not allowed to smoke my blacks since it has a strong smell. Plus the flavors are pretty cool. Going to be trying out some mango. My friend said i should get ruthless brand for juice

The mvp is a great device...you can however get an upgraded mvp 20 watt instead of the 2.0 for less money.

I have to disagree and say you can use one to drip with but on a smaller scale...you cant use it for huge dual coil builds and such..However you can use one on a simple small gauge single coil dripper keeping ohms around 1.3 or up with the MVP 20 watt.

I own the mvp 20 watt and im very happy with it so far.

It can be overwhelming with all the different ways to start out...Many choices that are quality enough to give you a fighting chance to quit and some not so good.

My list goes like this for very compact.

1.) Kanger evod kit (the kit i started with and still one year later works just fine)..Basic ego battery but very good tanks..nothing fancy..no electronics to fool with and as simple as it gets...650mah battery with basic kit.
2.) Innokin vv3 (same power as mvp 2.0 just smaller and less battery life between charges)..Variable voltage and wattage..some bells and whistles...more fun to own...800 or 850 mah battery.

Bigger devices with good quality and popularity.

1.) MVP 2.0 (11 watts of power 2600mah battery) same as vv3 just in a box and not a smaller pen style battery.

2.) MVP 20 watt...same device just more power if ever needed...some improvements over the 2.0 as well with the 510 connection..also 2600mah battery

3.) Eleaf i stick 20 watt..Smaller than the mvp but also a smaller battery with 2200mah capacity.

My recommendations to you personally.

You cant go wrong with any of these i mentioned...There are other kits but these are the most popular in my opinion and prices are good on them compared to others.

The MVP 20 watt and i stick are your best value for the money unless you must have compact ,then i would go with the vv3 personally.

I just got the 20watt for $32 online. Now i just need to get a tank for it. Thanks for recommending it! I really like the mvp v2 but the 20w is basically the same thing with more power. Plus i like how the attatchments go into the box unlike the v2 where its on top of it. Makes it look 100 times better

Thanks alot! What tank do you use? I was looking at the iclear 30 and the mini protank 3

Ive been using kanger tanks really...protank 2 versions (full size and mini) as its easy to build and simple in general..The coils are rebuildable on them..its just as simple as it gets really with a single coil...Some home made micro coils at about 1.8 ohms is pretty nice at 8 watts on the mvp with good organic cotton wick.

The Aspire nautilus mini would be a pretty good match for the mvp..not sure if coils are rebuildable or not but its a popular tank with, i hear good flavor....the kanger subtank nano with the 1.2ohm coil i think would work nice on it as well...pricey at about 25 30 bucks though...thats the next kanger tank im getting.

Any standard tank really will work on it..i just like kanger for ease of rebuilding coils...never have leaks and they are pretty affordable.

I just got a taifun gt tank however, and thats going to leave my kangers on the side lines for a bit...takes about 15 watts of the mvp to fire it nice (@.9 ohms) but holy shit its a bad ass tank...A little big for the mvp but i dont care really..lol

The kanger heads are great only if you custom build them, but you need the old style heads and they're getting hard to find. The new style heads are garbage. If you plan to use stock heads, don't buy anything that takes protank style coil heads.

The protanks take the old style coil heads...i just bought about 30 of them..lol....Theyre for protanks and protank 2's (full size or mini) as well as the single coil evods and MT3's.

I didn't realize the single coil heads never got revised. I guess it was only the bottom dual coil heads. My old evod2 takes the duals. Do you happen to know a source for old style bdc's and for the insulators?

Yea it was the dual coil models that got revised...the older ones have the slot like the single coils with the wick going inside the tank...the new ones have the hole on the side of them and wick stuffed inside..i dont care for those personally..one in my emow and i dont like it.

ive just been buying up used ones..but the single coil ones...fasttech has a cheaper version..they work but have crappy coils in them...the insulator is a harder material used on them and not the soft white silicone like the originals.

As far as the slotted dual coils im really not sure who has those..check fasttech.

EDIT:..I dont see why the insulators from any of the those coils wont work..The one from my emow look like my single coil insulators...I used an insulator from one of my single coils on my emow...The firing pins are bigger on the single coil heads also as far as contact point to the 510.

I just checked. Fasttech has knock off bdc's. Should be good enough. I'd still like to find just the insulators. I have some that are a little burned, but the rest of the head is fine. I've seen them in the past, but can't find them anymore.

Lighteningvapes.com has just insulators...6 bucks for 10...10 bucks for 25 and 35 bucks for 100.

Nautilus Mini with bottom vertical coils all day! Especially, with the iStick 20w. Great flavor and vapor production!
