Variable volt Ego battery?

I'm not sure I understand the "why", given that most ego-style atomizers appear to be more or less the same.

I have a VV ego battery, but can't notice any difference turning it up or down.

Can anyone add insight?

You won't notice a huge difference if you are using a higher ohm coil... say 2.0 or higher... with lower ohm coils you'll find the higher the voltage.. the more "burnt" your juice will taste.

They aren't really. You have top coil, bottom coil, single coil and dual coil. Dual coils mostly need a VV style battery to perform well. It also depends on the ego battery itself. Some are unregulated entirely and will give you whatever voltage is available from the battery. Some are fixed to a certain output like 3.6 or 3.7 volts. The VV or twist style can boost or reduce the battery output. Again it depends on the battery. Many, if the ohms are relatively low, will simply throttle back regardless of the setting you make in order to avoid exceeding the amps limit of the battery. So even though you've turned it up - to say 4.8V - it's really outputting much less than that for safety reasons. You would need an inline voltage meter and an ego adapter to tell what yours is doing. The meter would screw into the 510 connection of your battery and the adapter would be needed to screw your ego threaded atty on to the meter. You might find a local vape shop that would be willing to check it out for you. Just have to find one with someone nice behind the counter.

I think the biggest reason ' why ' most people recommend the vv egos over traditional egos, is yo get more of a consistent output over the life of the battery. with a traditional ego when you take it off the charger you're going to get 4.1v-4.3V to the atomizer and the battery discharges throughout the day that will drop down to 3.4v-3.6v. With a vv ego you will get whatever its set at the entire time, leading to more consistent experience

Different cartomizers have different voltages that they run best at, also the vv lets the user more fine tune thier experience. Its good to have it makes the device more versatile

Words of wisdom from the Fett. 100% agree.

that and also with using a protank mini with a dual coil head , turning this up to full blast works very well with those coils but with a single ... i cant go past half when the thing is fully charged . i charge a lot though . i am disabled so i sit by my stuff all the time .

I'm not sure what your disability is; but, I'm a t12/l1 complete Para and generally keep a dna40 or sxmini/rda and a mechanical/rda in my pouch and either another mod with a tank in my Lap.
Using hand controls to drive makes dripping and driving out of the question and needing both arms for regular propulsion makes a good non-leaking tank another must have,
So the RDA,s are safely in the pouch until I get where I'm going :)

coincidently, a good friend of mine is a C6 complete quad, and uses a powerchair, for him , we rigged up an innokin drv pass through and set up the 51o with a madvapes auto-firing switch so all he has to do is pull the atty to his lips and draw. The drv is VV/VW so essentially he has a that with him whenever he is in the chair and has other mods with the auto switch for if he's in the bed or in his manual. The auto-switch is a nice option since he doesn't have use of his fingers.
