Why has someone not made a standard wall socket plug in mod?

I have been wondering about this for a year now.. hope someone can respond..

Perhaps one could be regulated, but.. why has no one made one yet? :D

they make pass thru's, so why not this?

Probably because the circuitry needed would really increase the size of the mod?

A standard wall socket puts out 15 amps at 120v AC I do believe.

And that needs to be reduced to 12v DC at 1.0 amp I believe which is what most mods are build to recharge on.

I think so someone jump in here and tell me if I am close to being right about this.

Most usb wall warts are outputting 5v 1A, USB 2.0 are 5v 0.5A(500mA), USB 3.0 are 5v 0.9A(900mA).
That said, the average charging boards are limiting it to 5v 0.5A(500mA) anyway.
Why not a pass through? or keep a usb cable attached to a wall wart attached to your mod?

I use a mech nowdays.. would be nice to have that kind of power.. that you can't get thru just a usb cable..
Using a wall socket direct could improve the old "usb" deals out there..

just curious tho, why no one has thought or made one.. yet..

Probably because your average person isn't terribly keen about plugging a cord into the wall and putting the other end of it into their mouth. Circuitry notwithstanding, all it takes is for one shoddy solder joint to fail. (Talk about throat hit!) Plus, i know i'd trust something with labels like UL and IEEE, etc., over something with a label like, e.g., JoeModdzz Reaper 100w.

I have an adapter for my USB charger that goes into the wall socket bought it at http://estick.com/ I hope that helps

I think the main reason this has not been done yet is safety, the second reason would be marketing. That car based mod that Innokin put out, the one that plugged into the cigarette lighter, bombed in the market. They were around $100 when introduced 6 months ago, now you can find them for $20 or less.
