What is the max amount of distilled water that can be used with vg? i've been doing my base with 100% vg nic and 10% distilled water, can one go higher or not recommended

Ive been using about 5 percent....too thin is no good but neither is too thick...Find the happy medium where you dont wick too fast and flood or too thick and get dry hits.

If youre doing 10 percent now i would add very little from there if its still too thick for you....I can tell you this much though, adding too much destroys your batch you just made...Im using a mix of vg and distilled i made too thin and using it as the dilute.

10 percent is about the going percentage for most, i hear.

I like using 7%. I wouldn't go any higher than 10%.

I've used as much as 20%. The only downside(for me) was the vapor isn't as dense, you still get a lot just not the thick white clouds.

ok, well i'll experiment with it, the reason i ask is my mom is running a nautilus mini. I have a dripper and nautilus and notice that the dripper has no problem, but the nautilus has a hard time running max vg. So, i'm trying to keep her away from as much pg as possible as she is undergoing cancer treatment and it makes her already dry mouth, dryer when there is pg in it, so i was hoping to be able to cut it with more water, maybe 1-2% more, you think that might do it?

Im really not an expert on this but just try it in added small amounts above what you feel isnt working right in the tank untill it works...it may only take .5% more water...I dont have a nautilus tank so i really have no clue what will make it work.

The mistake i made was thinking i could do a 50 50 mix with water and vg and i was way off on this working....the vg turned to water pretty much...so i use it now as my mix to thin vg instead of throwing it out....50 percent water was waaayyyyyyy tooo much...lol

I dont think adding 1 percent more to test would be so bad...if its too thin then you know to add less..do small sample mixes so you dont waste 60ml of vg like i did..lol

If 10% is too thick I would do 15%. Maybe make some small testers, 3-6ml with 15 and 20%, and see what you think. It shouldn't be a problem and will definitely help with the dry mouth.

Or you could just get a sub ohm tank and rock vg max!

I would not recommend going over 10% at all. You really don't want to go over 20% combined thinners+flavorings. You might try using something like 6-7% water and 3-4% grain alcohol as long as the added throat hit isn't too harsh for her. The grain alcohol is a more efficient thinner and would be the equivalent of increasing the water without going over the 20% magic number.

I do 5% distilled water, 10-15% pg based flavor if that in my mom's juice.
She is a cancer fighter and uses protank solely... she does not notice much of a difference.

ok, so another question, off my own topic, but semi-related is vodka safe to vape? i've seen a spot for it in the ejuice calc, just didn't seem like it would be safe?

EDIT: nvm found a post on it!!

80 proof vodka is 40% pure alcohol and the rest is water and various impurities. So use it in recipes as 40 alcohol and 60 water. So, for 10ml of vodka, consider it as 4ml alcohol and 6ml water when doing calculations.
