Do you ever ponder whether to answer

Do you ever wait a while before contributing or answering a member's post? We've seen certain questions asked many times, for example, why's my kayfun leaking, is an imr battery better than an icr, can Sonic beat Mario in a fight (yes btw). and we've seen the plethora of different answers. In some ways we're a savvy bunch and each person has their own fix or angle on a reason and we don't always see eye to eye. But now having seen so much of this I wonder whether members ponder over whether to answer because they might get it wrong or not follow the general consensus or trend. But meh! So what. If you want to suggest a Magma or Brass Monkey instead of a TOBH, or an Aqua instead of a Kayfun, or 10 wraps instead of 5 (an android instead of an iPhone :p) then go for it. Don't sit from afar and be a yonder ponder. It might just be that your fix or answer will float their boat, win a Nobel prize or you might just make a new friend

Heck, I'm still waiting for your answer to my question about using fine grit sandpaper to prep the Hana clone's surfaces so that epoxy can properly bond rare earth magnets. :p

But do I complain? No sir ... still waiting for your answer, and you gave me the perfect opportunity to remind you about my question :D

Ahh sorry. I did submit a bug post that I'm missing some notifications. But the answer is no. I stuck a whole load of zinc plated magnets last week and they are stuck solid. It wouldn't harm any if you did but you don't need to. But even if it's 5 minuite bonding stuff still give it 12-24hrs to cure

If I know enough to be useful about the subject at hand I will contribute of course.

If I am ignorant, I won't make a peep/

Sometime if it is a good question, and if no answers are given. I will make a post just to bump it up so someone that can answer the question will.

Same here. I'll open the box & think about what I'll write. A lot of times I'll realize it's not worth it, too much effort, lost cause, or I don't actually know enough to contribute.
I'm not sure not knowing enough should put off a member from contributing to a discussion "if a member wants to join in." I don't know a great deal but I still talk a lot lol. If you get any hassle for wanting to join in a chat then reply with a picture of a middle finger ;)

Any suggestions for me?

I just purchased these..

For use on the Chana Mod I just got.

Looking at the inside the only place I can see to put them is over the cover for the electronics.

I'm not saying I'm apprehensive about being able to contribute. If I don't know anything & know I won't be able to contribute, I'll stay out. If I have an idea or related question, I'll chime in. If I know nothing, but am curious, I'll subscribe & monitor, see where it goes.

I answer once and unless they need a bit more info that I can help with, I let the posts take over. I figure I might learn something new, cause with vaping, everything is new or someone will find a way to improve something. Alot to learn, no one is the smartest one here, just more experienced... we all are learning as we go...

They can be put down the middle in the main box, circuit side and flat on the lid. And slip one at the end behind the battery box/housing but if you're gonna fit one flat on the lid to connect them together you'd need to either trim the battery box down flush or break up the magnet. I reckon you'll get 4mm at a push. I'd go pick up some 4mm or 5mm magnets. I got these now as they're less fiddly to work with https://www.fasttech.com/p/1555100

I am apprehensive sometimes. I've seen so much go on at places like facebook which sometimes is a laugh but it makes it impossible and pointless to post anything worthwhile. Sometimes I just feel a bit of a twat posting and won't look at the reply for a bit haha. My confidence is slowly being restored.

I guess I will have a better idea of what you are telling me once I get the batteries and have everything laid out in front of me.

Don't worry, I don't.

Mostly the drivel I post is ignored.

And anyway, people can just chat in a post. It eventually turns into a sort of instant messenger but without the instant commitment

I kinda do the same thing, sometimes I actually write out a response then end up not posting it lol. For similar reasons like not actually knowing enough or if I feel it didn't contribute to the topic

I was worried about this question at first because when I read it was pretty much the same questions I had asked (kayfun problems, which battery is better) thought I was being called out LOL. But as the question asker I feel like the more answers the better. Even if some are contradicting others. It's good to have all levels of expertise. Hell don't wait just blab away everybody.

My rule of thumb is if I have good advice or something constructive and helpful to contribute to a post I will. If I don't I will shaddap. I also don't feel the need to repeat what advise someone else has already offered worded a different way. That is just redundant.

There are also times where I actually take the time to type something out, look at it and think it is pointless to even click "post reply" for one reason or another.

Rule one, I never post If I've been drinking.
Sometimes for whatever reason, what I have in mind to add to the discussion isn't translated into text in a satisfactory manor or I feel like I'm undertaking a monumental task to spit out a few sentences, I walk away and hope I'll be able to get to the point next time.

@UncleRJ See post #18 above :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out!

And I have saved page.

Perhaps I ordered the wrong magnets but I will see if I can get them to work.

By the way, does anyone know if the penny sized ones I ordered will mess with the electronics if I put them on top the covered compartment?

.....
You can be sure a question has been asked a hundred times before. Did you find the answers you were looking for?

This is another thing. Whether to refrain from continuing to ask until we get it. It wouldn't offend anyone if we said sorry but I still don't understand. I'll repost my question again when I know how to word it another way.

.....
By the way, does anyone know if the penny sized ones I ordered will mess with the electronics if I put them on top the covered compartment?
I have been using my Cana with magnets non stop for two weeks without a glitch. Remember: there's a kick out there that's magnetic. And magnets are also sometimes used to extend a battery to make contact. I know magnetism can wipe data from a chip under certain conditions but this doesn't. I also fitted an extra round magnet in the middle of one as a back up in case one came off. It's a whisker away from the board and is fine.

i think it's cute that you guys are all apprehensive about posting something that might be dumb. never stopped me before.

You're cuter

If I choose to answer a question that has been asked over and over, I normally link a good reply from another thread. When I ran a very large tech forum, I would ban people that would reply to new members with stuff like "L2search noob", etc.
Totally. They clearly haven't learnt the satisfaction in helping to make a difference to someone else's life

Glad to see you around here again Mr.Chris!

And like you, I have a very low tolerance for people that seem to exist just to talk down to people.

Especially our "Noobs".

We were all new once and we should always keep that in mind!

i keep thinking about writing something as an answer here but i'm not sure my response would be any better than the next person. Plus i'm kind of hoping a little bit that you'll just use the search to find the other thread somebody started on this exact same topic a few days ago.
