Slightly off the subject, but something I'd like you to seriously think about, Duane.

Unlike a parallel circuit box mod, batteries in series do not increase the 'maximum continuous current discharge' (MCCD) amp rating, only voltage, so... I suggest that you read this before you do anything, and consider well why you want a series mod.

To your question...

The net resistance doesn't really care how your batteries are wired. From a safety perspective, the only concern is that your batteries have a net MCCD equal to or (preferably) greater than the continuous current discharge necessary to support that net resistance.

Volts divided by (net) resistance equals required minimum amperage... or V ÷ Ω = C.
Volts squared, divided by (net) resistance equals required minimum wattage... or V² ÷ Ω = P.​

I assume you mean a dual parallel coil build on your atomizer, correct? You sure can, granted you understand battery safety and ohms law. You will need to build in a range the keeps your amps below 20A or maybe 30A only if you have legit Sony's. Think around a .45ohm (MAX) total resistance to stay safe. This will generate ~160 watts on fully charged battery's (~8.4V).

You will need to build in a range the keeps your amps below 20A or maybe 30A only if you have legit Sony's. Think around a .45ohm (MAX) total resistance to stay safe. This will generate ~160 watts on fully charged battery's (~8.4V).
You need to some actual loaded volt tests, no one vapes @ 8.4V.

Here's Dicky Duck with fully charged LGHE4's with a 0.5Ω atty, being metered under load.

So he's vaping at ~ 107W and pulling about ~15A. Or 66% of your impossible 160W figure.

I understand there is voltage drop but I typically calculate (for battery safety purposes) my minimum resistance based on the full 8.4V (just to be safe).

Also every box mod does not have the same voltage drop, lights, meters and such all take away as well. His mod may be firing at 107w, my example was a 0.45ohm and if you fire that at 7.33V it's more like 120W...

EDIT:

I just metered my box with a .48ohm build and with 2x off the charger VTC4's I got 7.5V and with 2x off the charger LG HE2's I got 6.9V.
