I don't purchase batteries from FT.

Takes freaking forever to get batteries from them. Much longer than the other stuff because of their postal regs.

Never heard of these and I normally will not get a battery that has not been reviewed on the flashlight forums.

Yea i would stay clear from these for awhile.. need a LOT of positive reviews from the battery junkies to come out before I would even consider it.. but hey - by the time they actually get delivered to you, plenty of time should have passed to get some answers lol

These are actually 20A cells just like everything else currently on the market...
  • Continuous Discharge Current: 20A
  • Max. Short Peak Discharge CC: 40A

yea thats what I was expecting to hear.. plenty of other good solid batteries with 20a to find right in the US to risk buying them from FT

No way I'm buying them - guess I could have been a little more clear in my first post. For reasons @UncleRJ stated, I don't do FT batteries, and I wouldn't do any without seeing some reviews - a quick search of the web turned up nothing of interest (the flashlight guys seem to only be talking about this company's chargers, not their cells), but I figured I'd throw it up here to see if someone knows more than me.

I've got a couple of the unicorn-status VTC5s that I'm holding out of my rotation just in case I ever want to do a stupid mech build in the future, but for the most part I'm well within my limits on Samsungs and LGs...

And I can officially call myself a dumbass for not reading that in the first place. Move along, nothing to see here but a sloppy speed-reader...

I have a couple of these and they work great and hit hard. I use these and 25r's in my mechs. Nothing below .15 ohms.
Didn't get them from fasttech tho. Local vape shop.

@ .15 your pulling more amps then either of those batteries are rated continuously at.
And how did you figure that out? You load tested them both?

I'm not telling anyone else to go out and super sub ohm on a mech, on these or any other batteries. Just sharing my thoughts and experience on them so far. I bought them off of a recommendation from someone reliable and I'm glad I did. They are definitely keeping up with my 25r's!

You wont have 4 volts when u hit the button. Some serious droop...

True, but that's not the point. It's dangerous to assume you can discount those volts at the top. Whenever you calculate the amp draw on a build always use 4.2 volts.

You can use continuous ratings if you're safe about it. For example taking out the battery when not in use. It's human nature to push limits....

Don't need to load test them. A 25r is rated 20amp continuous, and at .15ohm your pulling close to 27amps @ 4v
Considering the above spec, you can briefly pull 40A. The question is, how short is short. To be on the safe side though, your coil shouldn't exceed the continuous discharge rating.

For safety, not a bad idea. But we both agree we are beyond that in this case.

.15.....thats 28 amps at 117 watts. Prolly drains em pretty quick.

They look exactly like MXJO batteries. Minus the MXJO part.
They can put any color, any letters, any numbers and any symbol on the wrapper that they want. I guess that color yellow wrapper is cheap right now. IMREN, LG HE4, MXJO...probably others. All the same identical color and thickness wrap...

EDIT:

Sorry folks, green wraps are sold out due to all the Sony counterfeiters!!!

Just to throw this into the ring...

Max discharge/pulse ratings that I've seen are typically done at 30+ seconds. For vapers, since we almost never go beyond 10 seconds draws, surpassing the pulse rating isn't really much of a worry IMHO. I've pushed my own batteries beyond their pulse ratings, and never had a problem. While it is in your best interest to stick within the continuous ratings, for safety reasons, going by pulse ratings are relatively safe, as long as you exercise a fair amount of caution.

That said... personally, without any full specs on this battery, I wouldn't recommend using them to their proclaimed potential. I'd like to see a full spec sheet on these, if anyone has it. Until then, I'll stick with my purple/yellow Imrens, and purple Efans for comps (same specs as Vamped cells).
