Hi all
Has anybody tried this new Subtank yet?
I watched a couple YouTube videos on it and they claim its top dog, better than the Atlantis and even better than the Arctic...this screenshot is from Vape Royalty... I'd like to see some reviews from other folks who might own one..

Cool...but I didn't see a comparison to the Starre or Arctic... Calvary must be in Canada where this comparison is done..
I have two Arctics that are fantastic..way better than the Atlantis and will order the Starre as soon as its available online ...
Let us know how you like your tank..

From what I've read the starre and the maganus are identical. Just renamed. They are pretty much comparable to the arctic. The main difference appears to be a larger cyclops slot. The airflow will still be limited to the size of the coil id. On the maganus that is 6mm. What is the id on your arctics ?
The other main difference is the arctic has 2 rectangular slots for wicking vs the magnus having 4 holes like the atlantis. If they both are able to keep up at 100 plus watts thats probably not much of a concern

I really don't know the I.D. but the Arctic does have 4-3mm adj air slots I tried to show in the pic...the thing has got awesome airflow..

Thanks for the info
I just signed up for notification of in stock as well.
Not sure if I'll get one before my maganus shows up as its 4.8ml vs the arctic's 3ml but in the end i'd bet I end up with both of them

I will certainly do that. I got both versions if coils as well to do comprehensive comparison. I would have gotten the artic if it had more juicy capacity.

Something that tops the Arctic, eh? I just got the Subtanks and can't take them above 20w without dry hits - not what I'm looking for. Have been thinking about trying the Arctic for a little while now, will hold off instead and watch this thread with much interest...

I did place my order for the Freemax Starre Sunday morning along with the .25 and
.5 coils. These were in stock according to the website and I will watch to see when it ships. I am hoping today so that I can get this by mid week and provide some feedback on it. I am stoked about the huge airflow, clouds and great vapor. Currently my Atlantis 5ML is great with the only drawback of muted flavor. I am hoping this will solve that issue once and for all.

I hope the coils are more widely available than the arctic... I have two arctics and use them sparingly because of coil availability- AND if this puppy drinks more than the arctic it'll break my wallet buying juice.... Please let us know what it's like!!

Maybe Rip will love this one because he got a fat cut from them...

I figured that once this hits the open market the coils will become scarce so I purchased both styles so I can determine which I like more. I think that the .25 coils will def drink a lot of juice. I make my own juice so the consumption doesnt concern me as much as getting the flavor and clouds to my liking. There has been a few reviews on utube regarding this tank, but I did not see one from Rip. I did see how Rip really didnt like the Artic which was surprising to me.. Usually Rip has his reviews up much quicker than when these hit the open market so I am not sure why I couldnt find one from him. I didnt know he got a cut from them on this one.... Maybe he is too bias then to give it a review lololol

I have never had a dry hit with my Arctics, even chain vaping 100% VG at 65-70w....thanks to those long juice slots in the coil I reckon...but they do use up the juice! Lol

Got my maganus about an hour and a half ago and already on my second tank. Vaped first one at 60 to 75 watts. This one is on my istick at 50 watts. Cool and killer flavor. You just can't believe this thing. I mixed up 30 ml of custard @ 3mg/ml when I ordered the tank 4 days ago and it tastes better than my 6mg/ml in my orchid thats 3 weeks steeped. Could post pics but it is identical to yours. Only difference is branding. Filled tank with syringe. It holds 5 ml. Won't be building anything for awhile. Finally a tank with enough airflow to suit me.

Starre on the istick at 40w. Flavor is outstanding. I also had the arctic which I sold. Both tanks are solid and very similar in performance. Imo, the arctic is more power hungry. I found the sweet spot was around 70w on my T8. Flavor on the arctic at this setting is mind blowing. From a tank? Just wow. However, Both are amazing. I kept the starre because of the 5ml tank vs 3ml with the arctic.

Biggest con on both is juice consumption which is expected. I have vaped about 15ml for around 6 hours today. Definitely not going to be my daily driver.

I use my derringer probably an hour or so every night, the flavor on this is just as good, so this is how I will probably use this tank. Imo, the target vaper for this is the dripper who is looking for a tank for times when it is not convienient to drip. My daily tank is a subtank hitting it at 20w on a nickel wire. I use to smoke light cigarettes. I compare this to the red marlboros.

Thx for the post..I have two Arctics I vape alternately ...It makes up for the smaller 3ml tanks vaping them together on two mods...
Highest I've gone with the .2 ohm coil is 65w..the stock drip tip gets a little hot so I may get some delrin drip tips to see if helps... But I do like the Arctic.. 2Ă—better than I like the Atlantis...lol

Just a heads up. The first version of the starre/maganus had a few problems that the final release addressed.
1) Hard to fill -- They modified the chimney
2) Ohms changing reading -- They silver plated the positive pin
This morning I got to work grabbed my istick/maganus and went to the bathroom. Sonova B reading .7 ohms ---1.0 ohms --- 1.2 ohms etc.
Spoiled my morning constitutional !!
Put the tank on my sig 100 --- .5 ohms steady.
It turns out that the positive pin doesn't protrude much from the bottom of the 510 connection. There is an O ring on the coil and if not reefed down good makes the height even worse. The spring loaded pin on my istick is not very stiff at all. All things in combination led to a faulty connection. Just making sure that the coil is real tight should eliminate this problem which probably won't appear on most devices. But me being pissed off having my day steered off track and maybe a bit OCD about some things and being a machinest at work with nobody else around. Of course I machined a new pin. Made of brass and it is .25 mm longer (.010"). 3 times the thickness of a hair on your head. Works perfect now.

All I can say about this Starre is MINGA.... This hits hard and fast using the .25 coils. It will consume enormous amounts of juice real quick too. The flavor is great and the clouds are freaking huge. Even my drippers dont produce like this without the fuss and mess. I will put the .5 coil in later today to see how those perform but I suspect that since these are dual vertical coils, it will be a winner. I usually like a cooler vape so the .5 should def shine for that.

I couldn't agree more on the flavor and vapor. BTW I haven't tried the .2 ohm coil yet. It had the .5 installed in it when I got it and in my excitement I forgot to look. For my style on the .5 it was a little to hot above 70 watts. 55 watts is right on for me. If it didn't taste so friggin good I'd try the .2 but for now I got great flavor and a bunch juices that I mixed up that I didn't like much. Figure I need to retry them. Who knows maybe I find my next ADV. LOL

It took me about a full tank before the flavor starting coming through with the .25 coils. I was vaping it faster than it could fully saturate all of the cotton. Now that it is saturated the flavor is amazing. I have several juices that I put to the side figuring someday I will find a tank that the flavor is much better than the Atlantis (I found muted it many of my flavors). Now I can try those again and make a decision to dump them out or combine them with others for some special surprises. hahahah Wow I cant imagine what 70 watts on a .5 coil would be like. I tried 70 W with the .25 and thought it was way too hot. I have the .25 settled in now at 43W. I find that its a cool vape with huge clouds still. Turning the airflow down by two clicks provides me with awesome hitting flavors. going up in wattage, varies the various flavors effects if find. The creams and fruits seem to shine really well at around 40 while some of the fruits do better a bit higher but not too much or they feel like hot fruit... youck. I like cool fruit from the fridge lolololol

Edit: this post was intended as a response to nodor's message about having a connection issue.

Thank you for posting this! I love this tank, as it allows me to vape max VG juice without having to build coils/wick. However, I too have been having (what i think are) connection issues. My Starred fires fine when I have the base, but not the tank, attached to my sigelei 100W. However, when I screw the tank onto the base, I often get a reading of 1ohm and the tank won't hit (or I get a mega dry hit) until I fiddle with tightening/loosening the 510 connection between tank and mod.

Wish I knew how to machine a pin like you do. Nonetheless, thanks for the ideas. This issue is driving me crazy (I too am a tad OCD with Vape gear)

My Starre connects great to my IVP3 without any issues. The tank itself is a great pc of equipment. I do find that the threads that screw the coil / base assembly to the chimney is a bit rough but no problems. Its certainly not a smooth threading connection but it does work without issue. The hits are great and my only complaint is that I cannot bring it to work to stealth vape because the clouds are immense :)

Yah I know what yo mean. I turned mine down to 20watts and lowest airflow setting for shits and giggles. Dam still way to much for a stealthy hit.

Fantastic tank. I was driving home and saw a new BM i ad not visited yet and figured why not wait out the traffic. Ended up picking this up even though i have an atlantis subtank mini and Arctic. It blows everything else out of the water easy. I wish i could take it past 50w but dont have a device that goes higher at the moment. If you are on the fence pick this one up its great with the .25 coils.

me too, the occ coils help and at 35w its still solid. flavor is a bit muted for me but i like it for in the car and chain vapes. I gotta say i feel like im cheating on my mech and rda setup when i use the starre though its that solid. The clouds are great... but the flavor is really impressive to me for a tank. The arctic is gnarly too Im going to happily use both. but i will most likely give the Atlantis to a friend or someone who wants off the cigarette train.

I found my sweet spot with the .5 coils around 33 watts and the .25 coil around 40 watts. Anything higher gets too warm for me which is why the Atlantis is so nice because no matter what I, I always get a nice cool vape with it. In comparison to the Atlantis the flavor is outstanding but there is some muted flavoring I find depending on the watts and type of juice I am vaping. I cant use the Starre in the car because the clouds are too immense for safe driving LMAO. I have been offloading some of my vape gear to friends who want to get off the smokes but dont want to invest in a set up. In my eyes, I would rather have the gear put to use for someone who is interested in Vaping. This way they can try it out and if they like it, they can continue with it and buy their own or upgrade what I have given them. My only comment is if you like it and stick with it, just throw me a few bucks as you can. For me, I would rather help someone out and show them the proper ways than to have the unused gear just sit. Or worse have them get something that isnt worth a damn and then they continue to smoke and are left with a feeling that vaping doesnt work. This of course we all is not a true statement. Either way a person has to be willing and want to give up the analogs or nothing will work.... Vaping just made it so much easier for me to live a smoke free life......

I found 40 watts to my sweet spot also on a Sig 100 watt plus. No connection issues at all. Have to be careful vaping in the car will cloud up quick. It drinks juice like a Hemi engine. The airflow is good had to close it down a lot for my comfort zone. No leak issues at all seems very well made.
