Genuine DNA 40 or SX350J ??!!

I bought a vapor flask clone dna40 a while back and the temp control is right just for me. I know the Yihi Sx mini m class is out so for those who own or tried both dna 40 and sx350j, which one should I get?? I don't really care for the regular mode cuz I own a ton of regulated mod already. I probably will have those custom for dual 18650 but just need the right chip.

sx350j no question. The DNA40 is old, tired, and full of bugs these days.

Man I love the way sx mini look, just don't like the fact that it can only run in single (dual in series but still). Probably gotta wait till next week or before the chips hit US market. Those who do custom build and have those please pm me for pricing.

I ordered one of these about a week ago they are about to be shipped out next week.
E-mail the dude for availability, but I don't think anything in a Hammond box is worth that much.
These are custom boxes.

EDIT: I'm sorry, I didn't your initial post thoroughly, this isn't a temp control box mod.

I was going to post the same question.. SX chip or DNA for temp control. I'm kind of at the point of thinking temp control is kind of a hassle and a gimmick.

I'm a DNA fan boy, I own DNA20 and DNA30 mods, BUT I think I agree with Joe, if I were to drop $200 (maximum BTW) I'd probably lean towards the SX MINI M CLASS YIHI CHIP, and it pains me to say it - but evolve really seems to be struggling with the DNA40 release. :( I personally don't need the added wattage,I only want temp control

As for price, $200 is the max for a mod unless it's something really special. And $200 is expensive nowadays

my sx350 shows up in a few hours..
like phone guy im a total dna fanboy I own 9 dna mods 1 of which is diy the rest are vaporsharks of all combo of chips including the 40, I love the damn things(obviously) but also love the yihi power and presets, so to me im taking sort of a chance. something about the TC performance im looking forward to having with a dual coil build at 25w-30w per coil! in addition to all the other features that yihi offers on that chip.

in true redneck form i'm camped out by the mailbox with beer and an umbrella.

my neighors love it when I have vapemail

I'm happy enough with my DNA40 mods, and as long as they perform well, I can live with the bugs. BUT... If I have a new temp control mod to buy, I'll go with your suggestion, if only because Busardo raves about the DNA40. I avoid anything this guy is a little too enthusiastic about...

ahahahaha I'm sorry dude that's just funny shit to me!
I love all the geak shit that he goes over, so I used to really trust his opinion.
then I bought a provari.

in my defense that was a year ago when I started vaping, we didn't have but one shop here, and no one to learn from, I had no clue evolve existed, I should have done more homework but I basically through the money out the window on the purchase, based on his ejaculating all over the mod.

well, Hcigar has a genuine DNA40 40w temp control mod out for a hundred bucks! Not a clone of anything either, their own mod.
I think it's my next try, this temp control thing has me intrigued since my SubTanks have started giving me occ. semi dry hits. I'm not willing to pop for 2 bills but 1 sounds somewhat better. Then again, I'm a cheap SOB.

link to dna40 temp control mod for a bill

Great reviews and the reviewers swear this is a genuine chip with the Evolv warranty even.

Edited for accuracy

I mean my thank you. I appreciate mistakes being pointed out esp on tech issues. Like you say, I don't want anyone taking wrong advice from me.

Vaping for a couple years now but only about 6 months on high output devices. I got off the stinkies with Ego Twists and Protank Minis. Now I just can't vape that combo, even as a spare. Finding and reading here is what convinced me to go high output and I've learned a ton so far. This place rocks compared to the other vape forum imo.

Ordering that mod I linked now actually as that does seem like a killer price for a very nice unit if the reviews are accurate. And I've wanted to try temp limiting since I started high output. Though I've found blocking the air holes then giving a few good hard puffs will resoak the wick in a subtank and cure the issue for a while. Tempted to use a tiny rat tail file to open the juice channels just a tich in the RBA base.

defintiley a much nicer place for sure! as to the TC, im a fanboy of it and totally live the feature. however, I don't have a subtank, I stick mostly with RBAs and use an atlantis for lazy times. vaporshark does sell temp coils for the subtank though.

Hammond 1590b dual 18650 sx350j for $260, good deal?

SXmini j board is $80.00
Hammond box is about $9.00
Switches maybe another $10.00
Battery tray $5.00
510 spring loaded connector $5.00
Misc. wire $1.00

So if you like the looks & size of the Hammond you could build one for about $110.00. Personally I don't like the size or look. To me Hammond mods are pigs, a pig you cant even put lipstick on to make look decent. My first diy box mod was with a 1590 and I only kept it about a month before discarding it.

I have a vaporflask dna40 clone and it works quite well. But I definately ordered a sx 350j as soon as they came available. Should have it sometime this week. If it is half as good as the hype I've heard I will be happy. If not I'll still be happy to use it in regular mode. So its a win win for me.

Just received my SX Mini M class last night and I'm loving it. Nickel wire should arrive at my house on Thursday can't wait to try it out.

I have a HANA MODZ V4D and really do like it. The screen glitches only seem to happen if there is a problem with my build.

Freaky, ain't it? I'm running my Lemo Drop .3 Ohm twisted 30 gauge NI200 coil at 25 Joules and 430 Degrees and the vape is just magical. Lots of clouds, flavor.....wow.

I think YiHi just shot the DNA40 right out of the water.
Couldn't agree more. This setup is nothing short of perfect. Plus with the added watts to 60 vs 40 on the DNA you can't go wrong

How did you get your coil up to .3? I can do ten wraps on 3mm and it's just over .1

My 12 wrap Ni200 coils read .23 ohm in my Manta RDA sitting on top of my Vaporshark rDNA, and .18 ohm in my Rogue RDA directly on top of my Vapor Flask. It's the exact same coils, but differences in atomizer post designs, 510 connector quality, and/or internal wiring of the mod add more or less resistance.

Larger gauge wire has lower resistance... so a 22g wire will have a lower Ω than a 24g, 26g, 28g, 30g, 32g... etc.

Saying what diameter wrap you have and how many wraps... is only part of the Ω equation you must also say what gauge wire you are using, then you add in the other possible sources of resistance in the connectors...

Honest it's not lack of will power. It's just that...well you know... I'm a vaper !!!
So once again I talked myself in and out of my plans . Took the 350j chip with me to work this morning. My work gear is a hana clone with a sx350 60 chip in it. At coffee break I was ripping out the old chip and fitting the "J" in it. At lunch I was soldering things together. This afternoon I'm vaping my new old box.
Only in regular mode. Tonight when I get home I get to try temp control. Will finally see if its really better than the vaporflask v3 clone. You know you guys are definately an influence on me. Just not sure if its good or bad. LOL

@nodor thats awesome that you did that. I would like to think that we are a good influence in a bad way. Least we didnt steer you to a pc of crap board hahahahahah. That would have been a bad influence in a bad way....

@TheVapingDevil OK I concede !! Influence is good in spite of what the wife thinks. Tried my veritas single coil 28 awg nickel .14 ohms 40 J @ 425F
Great vape. Same rda on the vaporflask v3 clone --mediocre at best. Absolutely no comparison. Yihi is definately the one to beat.
