Would this be a good setup or even one that would work?

I was just wondering what y'all thought about this setup being that I know next to nothing about mods.

Hello Brandon

My first piece of advice would be.. if you don't know much about mods, I would not go with a mechanical. I strongly recommend you go with a simple regulated device such as an iStick or an MVP. You can still use the RDA on either, but the regulation will provide a much safer vape.

Also, you might wanna check out RBA Supplies for your re-building needs > http://www.RBASupplies.com/afl/ref.php?id=1012

Agree with above and either way get yourself an ohm reader, ITS A MUST......Look into the subtanks that taking over the vaping world. Kanger subtank would be a great start, put it on an Istick or if you want a really nice mod, IPV MINI

I wouldnt recommend a dark horse for a beginner either. The airflow ring is ALWAYS wet. Its like a liquid filled piece of swiss cheese, after you poke holes in foil and wrap it around. Its actually tough to build on since the inside diameter of the cap is reduced, because of the ring and thick metal.

Id also recommend a subtank or some other type of coil based atty. Then maybe an internal battery, regulated device like an istick 50.
For the money youll save on rebuilding supplies, batteries, charger, and ohm checker, a subtank and istick is a good bet to get started.

I don't recommend going for the bomb just yet. As suggested, start with a regulated device, learn about Ohms Law, get familiar with the language and ask a lot of questions.

While that is a pretty complete setup, like the others, I would not start with that. You didn't say how much it costs, but if it's more than $50, there are many other options that are new vaper friendly that I would recommend. If cost is a factor, look at 30w mods like the iStick and a Subtank. If cost is not a huge factor, then look at the iStick 50 and a Subtank. If cost is no option, the world is your oyster ... There are TONS of mods to be had ... :D

If you have to go with a mech mod, get the Kepler Stingray X from Fasttech. I have two, and I love them. Regarding the dark horse, as good as it is, it lacks a deep juice well. Get a CLT V3, Mutation X V3, or a Doge X instead.

Start with a knife, not a gun.

Get an Istick 20 watt and a tank to practice with and go from there.

Jumping right into a mechanical with a rebuildable RDA may seem like a neat idea, but you've got a bit of learning to do. In your kit I didn't see an Ohm Meter which is the single most important piece of equipment you can own, it will save you from making builds too low and risking your safety with a possible vented battery.

Start with a good regulated mod, a 50, 70, 100, or 150 watt model. You will be able to cloud chase easily.

I have to agree with all the rest. I would probably avoid the istick 20 though. The 30 was improved, is more readily available, and priced right. You can also run a sub tank if you choose. You really can't on the 20watt
