Extremely annoying, not only him but all the jump cuts...and he's got to be high on something, his pupils always look like they're about to explode, just can't watch.

I never have been able to handle his videos, not questioning his character or sincerity, he's just a bit too much for me. I used to watch Suck My Mod and especially Vaping With Twisted420, and then the whole Rip Trippers accusations, translation... bullshit, were started. I don't consistently watch anybody, now. Twisted especially lost credibility to me after what he pulled.

I thought it was nice, and surprising, that nobody bitched about this thread getting resurrected 6 months or so past it's inception. ECF, and most any forums in my experience would've turned it into making fun of whoever did it. Love the VU.

The only e-cig review I can take seriously nowadays is igetch69, its as clean and concise as you could probably get, one of the most consistent and straight to the point reviewers out there still.

Stopped taking Rip Trippers seriously once I tried his e-juice line... "I'm a flaaaavor Junkie!!" as he so eloquently states every time, yet I don't get what flavors he was talking about after I tried a sampler pack from VapeTrik.

I used to enjoy Twisted when he mostly did clone reviews, but he seems to have become more of a mess of things lately.
Suckmod...I dunno, sort of see him as the Forest Gump of vape reviews, but without the IQ and charm...
Robert Ellis? Holy cow, like listening to a high school wood shop teacher who reluctantly came to work after a long binge ;)

really, the only reason to watch Scott igetcha69 is to see the newest high end atties and what they look like....the problem I have with him is he says the same thing over and over again..........."the flavor is what you'd expect from a genisis style atomizer.".............wtf.

Forrest Gump of vape reviews..LOL......I still like Mark Todd ...other than Scott, he's vaped almost everything out there and gives me a pretty good idea of the quality of the flavor and vape.......although he tends to be a bit pollyana. If he says an atty gives great flavor I raise an eyebrow if he says it rates in his top 5 then I consider it.
I like the fact Todd responds to his viewers,he trades gear with them, and that he has gone to pretty great lengths to help raise money for charities by raffeling off vape gear....I also I like the fact the imbeciles at a well known high end english vaping forum hate him. anybody that can be despised by that collection of knuckledragging schoolboy posers is OK with me.

Interesting on Rip Trippers juice, wasn't planning on trying it, though. Now I definitely won't. I agree on Twisted, I liked the clone vs authentic comparisons, and sometimes the clones were as good, if not better. I have two Infinite Copper Cartels, due in part to his review. Still, the drama he pulled makes it difficult to trust much that he says.

I'm gonna have to check igetch69, interesting name for a clear and concise reviewer. Lol.

Lol, way to hold back. I'm so tired of reading people berate new people for not using the search function, then come back and chastise them if they do so, and ask questions reviving a thread. Can't have it both ways. There are exceptions, though. I haven't really seen any bashing for resurrecting threads around here. My car forums can get nasty.

Not quite sure what's going on in that gif... Lol.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Todd. I was actually the one back in the ECF days that mentioned I enjoy his reviews, but I get irritated when he pauses and stares into space like a village idiot LOL. Big props to him for his charity work for animals, I tend to have a soft spot for that as well.

Personally, I prefer written reviews with photos, but the one thing I like with igetcha69 is exactly that, its consistent, perhaps overly consistent, but I tend to enjoy more of a structured review if I'm watching a video review as opposed to one where the personality seems to be "winging it" and blabbers on about other things. The up close detail shots he has are nice.

I actually decided to give gennies a go after watching his Nahualon review, and the Nahualon was actually my first real genisis tank where I gave it a serious go. Since then, haven't looked back, microcoils and cotton just doesn't hit the spot for me anymore like it used to.

There is a big honorable mention in the review world, one in particular that should be required viewing for any would be reviewer is the Vapin Genuis. (and no, I'm not spelling Genuis wrong, that's how he spells it) Gotta love the early ones where he is too bothered to get off his moms recliner and asks people to send him stuff so he can review it. That's pure "genuis" huh? LOL

I like Rip Trippers for the fact that he got me started on my builds. Have a new tank and need suggestions for build possibilities and he probably has a video about it

With that said, I don't subscribe because I can't stand "the show". My favorite media personalities, be that musicians, authors, or YouTube personalities seem to be sincere people, not just in opinions but in attitude. I'm not about to say that Rip doesn't believe in what he says, but his whole schtick seems so artificial. I really prefer his earlier, more down to earth videos to his current " character" videos. Tell me what you like, what you don't and I'll love you for it. No reason to play the crazy hillbilly "sick as tits" part.

I'm glad you agree, but I don't know if I'd call it idiocy. I think its the story of a man who realized its easier to stand out if you have a schtick. Lots of great artists have, but you need something behind it

David Bowie had a schtick with Ziggy Stardust but had enough behind it to make it credible. Years later her had a schtick, but the music wasn't there, no content. That's what RIP reminds me of. He has content still, but it gets less and less video after video. I love him for the good things he's done, but I think he needs to consider what's more important. If he does what he does for money, then keep doing it, but it won't last. If he makes his vids because he loves the vaping world, then reevaluate and make fewer videos. Quality vs quantity.

I gotta admitt ole Rip did a very good job with his coil building tutorials for drippers, they were shot well, and he was a pretty good builder, and even though I'm a total genhead,at one time or another I bulit alot of the coils he had tutorials on.in the few drippers I've owned.

I think he is a great reviewer and he does a good job with coil building tutorials. I heard that the reason he does all the quick cuts on his videos is because he has a hard time stuttering and saying "uh" so he cuts it out to cut down on time and leave out all the stutters.

He annoys me. As much as I hate the 100 quick cuts he does in editing, atleast he doesn't babble on for a hour like a lot of Youtube reviewers.

The quick cuts are to keep the viewers attention. Its actually very smart of him to do that. Whether you like him or not, thats up to you...I dont mind the silliness. He's concise and to the point.

I can't get into his vids and I've tried to watch them. No hate for the guy at all, I just don't care for the schtick. I find it a bit annoying. He could give the best reviews and the most useful info and I still couldn't watch it for long. That's just me. It's good that there are so many reviewers out there. We all have different likes and dislikes and can choose to follow who we prefer and believe is giving us what we want in reviews and entertainment. My tastes and preferences steer me more towards Phil Busardo. Some folks dont care for him or his reviews at all and that's fine. I dont really worry about what others like. I interested in what I like. :)

Studies have shown that quick cuts hold a viewer's attention much longer than non-edited video. The mind notices the shift, and it's like a finger jabbing in your side. A gimmick, but it works.

Thats correct, I can vouch for it myself. I tend to fast forward or move on to other videos that dont have quick cuts. Indoorsmokers is another that does it and I tend to watch his all the way through as well.

I like, him, he's direct to the point, and he's vids are professionally made, unlike the majority, all they do is show cloudszzzzzz, for me I think cloud chasing is OLD, its all a out that FLAVOR, and I think that's a good thing, it forces juice makers to rethink what they sell us!! IMO

Yes, advertisement tends to look very professional.

This guys is a shill for the vaping industry, like a few others that shan't be named. Watch all his videos - if you can stomach it - and tell me when he says he doesn't like something...

What's better a short to the point video or a longer more in depth one?
if you're gonna spend say 180.00 to 220.00 on an atty........longer and in depth.

I like that he understands the value of a good in focus close up and not too much personal babbling about himself. Other vape video makers could learn from him.

I like Ripp. He's very intelligent, but hides it well, with all the silliness. He knows how to build coils, and his videos are great for teaching people, how to do it right. Hope he makes many more. I like to be entertained, while learning.:)

A lot of people dont "hate on" him...some may, but most do not...they arent "haters"...I dont like his stuff at all but I hardly hate the guy...not caring for a reviewer or his style and not finding him entertaining because you or someone else does isn't necessarily "hating"...that term is tossed around so freely and loosely way too often these days...and it's often used incorrectly any time someone has an opinion that doesn't fit with someone else's opinion......drives me nuts...

Before we get into this... how old are you? I am guessing you are much older than the term dont fully understand what it means,

I understand what it means...and as a word, it's been horribly mangled....trust me...kids always think people that are a bit more seasoned are out of touch...when you get a bit more time on earth under your belt, you'll come to understand that it just it isn't so...

Have to agree with you. Calling someone a "hater" is usually just a cop out. When people don't have anything intelligent to say in response to something and are at a loss for words, they resort to words like "hater" or "butt hurt" or even "troll". Or perhaps "tin foil hat" or any number of other cop out phrases that gets the person off the hook for having to actually think of an intelligent rebuttal to something.

Actually, hating is expessing dislike for someone or something because of jealousy or other reasons. For instance, what twisted did to rip was hating. Calling twisted a shill is hating. I never said you were hating, but it is going on in this thread.

Actually it is true. I am not a kid. I am 32. But I am sure I dont grasp the meaning of some of the words the kids use today.

Hatred suggests a very strong dislike accompanied by hostility. People dislike all sorts of things but actually "hate" very few things.

I dont think I've detected any jealousy of Rip in this thread...haven't seen Twisted on here either...I've only seen a few people that cant stand the guy due to mainly to his nutty persona....I suppose that would meet the "other reasons" criteria that you mentioned....I dont see it as that at all tho...oh well, not a big deal...

Definatly not a big deal, i guess we have a different interpretation of this thread. I just threw the twisted thing in there to explain what hating means. Anyhow, have a nice night.

Lol, MTV? That's so yesterday. I remember when MTV actually played music videos. I can actually remember when MTV launched with Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles. I know exactly what the term "hater" is, a cop out used by people who don't have the intelligence to maintain a conversation, usually by those who can't handle criticism and instead of addressing it either by making an intelligent rebuttal to it or by learning and improving by it, instead say "haters will hate" which can be translated to "talk to the hand."

Well, all them reviewers get shit for free to review. If they don't play ball, they's gonna get free shit to review no longer. Hence, whether they like it or not, they *have* to plug whatever they receive in the mail. Only very rich vapers could afford to buy all the hardware they review, and that's hardly a viable business proposition.

But there's one thing you can get out of reviewers' videos: closeups of whatever product you might be interested in. Simply mute the sound, skip through the talking head rah-rah, and you'll usually find pretty good shots of whatever feature you want to check out - provided you know what you're looking for.
