Great review dude.

You covered the thing from front to back, start to finish and kept it just long enough to cover everything!

Job very well done!

Great review. Thanks for going over the device & safety aspects as well.
I do not have one ( yet hahaha ) but will so agree that the touch sensitive top button is very gimmicky. Would be nice if there was a way to toggle it on/off

I really enjoyed your review man. I'm going to have to refine my method and stick to a specific format. I subscribed to your channel (of course)!

I am waiting for your review myself.

You can. It was pointed out to me after the video that you can longpress Fire & - at the same time to turn off touch and fire & + to turn it back on.

I can get it down to about 3.3v. Perhaps with a different combo I can get it down to 3v but even still getting it that low is pretty nice.

With the .3ohm dual coil, it can go as low as 2.5v according to the display on my device.
According to the device that should have been firing at 2.9 or 3v. That I believe is showing just basic ohm's law calculations. According to the spec sheets it should only fire no lower than 3.6v.

It will display that but can't step it down that much. In this pic (sorry for the device being blurry) to obtain 7w it should fire at 2.1v but it's still actually doing 3.2-3.3v

The stepdown is what I was really interested in. I would like to know what the voltage ACTUALLY is on .2ohm coil fired @ 15, 30 and 50watts. Clearly the screen can not be trusted. My suspicion is that a .2ohm set @ 50w will likely put out more volts than 3.16V and in-turn truly put out well over 50watts of power. Can someone confirm?

I'll build a .2 and show you the results. I believe you might be right considering the minimum firing voltage. I think it's close to, if not is completely impossible to vape a .2ohm coil at 15w. I don't know if anything can turn a standard 3.7v battery to 1.73v. The screen will show the proper ohms law calculation, but I think once it hits the minimum thats it. No notice about it, just will fire at the 3.2 / 3.3

Ok @Sully we were right on assumption. Here is a .2ohm coil I just built (5wrap 22g) for testing.
6yrajuna.jpg

Firing it at 7w gives us this:
jage6abe.jpg

15w gives us the same
8u6y8y4e.jpg

So it's a bit under 50w but as low as it can fire.

When I ramp it up to actual 50w it will match the required 3.6ish to hit 50w exactly. My ohm meter that measures down to .00 broke so I can't tell exact resistance just that it is in .2 range.

abu5amub.jpg

This was done on a brand new VTC4 battery off a LUC v4 charger.

But wait there's more (sorta). Some of you guys might have seen the thread from my other little hobby, 3D printing. Well sometimes these two blend nicely. Here is prototype "v1" of solving that darn charge cable on the bottom issue. When done it will be tall enough to hold a micro USB w cable routing out the back.

This was what I was trying to ask last night in @BugOut Machine 's thread when I asked if it just dumped the battery voltage on the low end of the scale... :D

Looking at your test for @Sully, it looks like the chipset does a good job on the dc/dc voltage convert when ramping up...

It is a shame it won't ramp down for us light weights, but most 15w vw mods do that plenty good... LOL Or maybe it just appears that way since they are capping out around 1.2-1/3ohm coils and 15 watts...

For quick reference on the wattage/ohms/voltage questions:

sorry so small, hard to find a good sub-ohm chart...

search on 90 degree micro usb cables... should be able to find one with a usb female so you can attach a longer usb cable to it... most of them are fairly short...

Quick little update on my dock. I increased the height and I can now plug it in rested. The drawback is that I only have standard micro usbs with long connections. It's a bit taller at the moment. I ordered a few different micro USB with right / up angle connection. They should reduce dock height in half.

3d printers are great! I'm looking into getting one, perhaps I'll print my own mod and put a sx350 in it. The great thing about the cam files is that you can export the design to a cam mill.

The touch sensor button may be gimmicky but that is one of the reasons I just ordered one. My seven 22 that I've been using now for about 4 months and loving it , is now crap because of the fire button. It quit clicking and started mooshing. Now it will fire with the slightest touch or it will enter the menu settings. So the IPV sensor button appealed to me or I can use the clicky without over using it. I hate throwing away a device because of button failure.

Dhim is doing a great job IMO. I too like the youtube review.
Great sub ohm build and testing.
I also have ordered his 3d printed stand. Black with 4 atty/ejuice bottle wells.
Might even toss him some extra cash for being so AWESOME.

I just ordered the IPV1 35 watt version...the price was right, the vendor is reputable, and my vaping style will likely never require 50 watts (likely not 35 watts either...lol) ...:)

Ordered the IPV v2 today from Wetvapes. I want your blue dock with holder for attys.. Very cool.. Noce job Dhim!

Awesome man, great review as always.
By the way all you need to hit him up on Facebook at Vape3D. He has been making some serious advances on the docking system. I have mine coming and from payment to being shipped was a total of a day. This guys rocking them out. Hell he even has an Dock+ 8 Atty holder now called the Hemi. Mine was the first... =P

he is slammed. I ordered a personalized black one w 4 atty/juice holes.

I realize some are having problems with eleva8 and am very sorry to hear it. I also understand there is one vendor recalling the 50 watt IPV2 because they had one employee who had his malfunction, I applaud this lvl of customer support but also wanted to just add a few things I have found using my IPV 35watt. Basically the same mod but only 35watt max, same board and build. I for one have had Zero issues with mine and they will have to pry it from my cold dead hands...LOL...

On to what works for me, hope this helps someone else. I can't take credit for the idea though. That belongs to Jason AKA Dhem, AKA Vape3D. Hope this helps someone who feels as I do, that is hands down one of the best PV's out there...

Just wanted to say thanks for pointing out that this mod really shines when you let it. I can't remember if it was this vid or the follow up where you talked about running 1.5 to 2+ ohm builds, (or was it 1.2 to 2). Either way I followed what you had to say and WoW amazing. I built some 3mm 8 wrap micro coils with 28guage Kanthal for duel coil builds. One for my Kraken at 1.5ohm and I vape it at 19.2 watts and it pushes it to 5.5v and is a very flavorful cool vape with plenty of vapor. I built my Stillare to the 1.5 ohm same specs and bumped the Watts to 19.8 - 5.6v, again an awesome flavor and a cool vape with plenty of vapor. I don't like a warm or hot vape but tried them both in the 22+ watt range and the voltage just flies up accordingly...
Let this thing do what is was meant to do, regulate your voltage, you want to Sub-Ohm use a Mech with a good battery 30amp+, but if you want to be able to adjust your Vaping to what you like and want. Try the 1.5 to 1.5+ ohm builds with these boxes and you won't be disappointed. My sweet spot for duels is the 1.5 range on my RDA's and just lower the watts a bit on my Gennie's. Just my two cents...Vape On... =D
P.S.
Almost forgot to mention. I am getting around 6 to 8 hours battery life set up this way as well...

Well my IPV 2 is here and so far so good. After watching a pbursado review I was worried that the door wouldn't fit the box like the one he got. My unit had a perfectly fitting door with screws that were very easy the remove and screw back in. The box feels very solid with no rattily buttons. All the functions work and I'm now vaping away. I'm currently using the Aqua RTA dual coil at 2.4 ohm. I built it this high because I was using my Provari until this arrived but it would only go to 5.8 volts. With the IPV I'm at 15 watts or 6 volts . I'll probably will rebuild this with a lower ohm to cool it a little. The touch sensor button works good also. All in all I'm impressed . Today it goes to work with me for all day use.

I havent had any issues yet either really.. Only had it one day but really like it and feels well built..time will always tell with these devices what is good and what is bad.. So far, I see no big problems that are glaring out at you when the device is used. The screws are tiny but I am charging USB anyways so not a biggie for me. By buttons work fine and found nothing wonky about them. Could they be a little better? Yes , but not a deal breaker. They are working fine and no crunching as Pburardos did. Door is not warped. Think he might have gotten a lemon.

Well after two full days using the IPV2 I can say this device works very well.I watched pbusardo review again and I'm convinced he got a lemmon or prototype. A lot of what he found wrong I just haven't experienced with my unit. When I first activated it my screen appeared normal, his didn't. My door fits properly , his didn't.My ohm readings stayed steady, his didn't. When his battery was very low his wattage setting would change when he fired the device , mine stayed at the wattage I set. His also would continue to fire when the battery was low and when he used the touch sensor, mine never did. It would give me a very consistent Vape until I got the low battery message...P4Y needs to send him another device with an apology letter. I always watch pbusardo's reviews and I value his opinion. If I had watched his video first I probably would not have purchased one. But I'm glad I did. My experience so far has been very positive.

I agree with you guys. I've been using the device as a primary since before the review and have not had any of the issues Phil had. Perhaps he had one of those "prototype" units that were sent out. I very often run my battery completely dead on purpose and have not had misfire issues. I disabled the touch sensor, so I can't speak much to that. The screws kind of stink because of size, but they fit properly on mine. I *shameless plug* use one of my docks to charge it so I really don't take it off. Larger screws or even magnets would have been better but at ~$100 is it really that big of a gripe? My resistance doesn't jump around either, nor does the voltage. It doesn't show actual output during stepdown but that is the chip in general. Heck I think of that is common sense, I don't think you are going to have many options to get a battery to fire at 2v.

For the price you really can't beat this device. Especially considering it is an "authentic" mod, if that holds weight to you. I am personally looking forward to the Sigelei 100w mod as that one looks to be priced at $100 or less. It will be using a upgraded version of this SX330 chip but the kicker for me is the 2x18650 package.

Well it's been a week with the IPV2 and it has been working like a champ. No issues, very consistent vaping. I use my kayfun at 1.7 ohm and 13.2 watts. Battery with this set up last me all day. Also I've really come to appreciate the finish. I work
outside so my hands can get dirty. The finish seems very scratch reresistant and it's also nice not to have a slippery fingerprint magnet. If this device last me more than 6 months it will be the best China mod I've purchased. I'm really liking the IPV2.

Awesome man, glad your enjoying it...I know I love my 35 watt IPV...I did post Phil a note on his review about his unit...I really think he got a vendor sample / prototype that was never meant for sale, when he opens the back of the case you will notice there is no number in the top left corner as all of us have in our production units...

Also in my above post I suggest coil ohm builds that I use and like a dummy I didn't even do the Ohm's Law calculations for mine...With any VV/VW device just use an Ohms Law calculator and plug in your Max Volts and Max Watts and it will tell you the exact coil to build to be able to use the full power band on your device...For mine the 35 watt version it is 2.06ohms and that will allow the device to only use 4.12amps at a full 8.5 volts at 35 watts...I never run it that high, way to freaking hot...LOL...Now lets say instead of getting as close as I can to 2.06ohms, I use a lower ohm build say a .3 sub-ohm build that my device can fire down to...The device can only hit 3.24 volts and draws 10.80amps, effectively cutting my power band by 5.26volts and drawing over 2 and 1/2 times as many amps at 10.80...So by running my device as close to its sweet spot as I can, I am seriously extending my battery life, effectively doubling it...I get a solid 8 hours vape out of my IPV now running my 1.8 to 2.2ohm builds at around 4.2 to 5.2volts and it is Awesome...

We should all always use our ohm's law calculations when using any of our Personal Vaporizer Devices, even the VV/VW mods, to make sure we are running them within a safe and optimum range...Finding the sweet spot is for lack of a better word, Awesome... =)

Hope this helps someone...
As always, Vape Long / Vape Strong my friends...

P.S.
Kevin2112, it will last you at least a year considering it has a 1 year fix or replace warranty on it...
