Sadly China going to totally ruin the image of the GI2 they going to clone the case of the GI2 v1 and not the GI2 v2 and then slap a crappy eVIC screen with a 100 watt / 120 watt pulse width modulation chip in it and call it a clone.

Pulse width ended a while ago... China's new wattage chips are as good as - if not better then an Evolv Chip.. The SX350 is epic..

50W is soooo first half of 2014. The SuperMax can do 82W in VW mode and 94W if you leave it in VV mode.

I do feel for the GI guys, though - its taken them the better part of a year to develop their mod, its just got going, and the cloners are already ripping it off. Oi Vey.

Actually it didn't take that long.

I paid for my first GI2 back in November 2013 and was one of the first 39 to ever purchase and receive a GI2 that also included custom serial and also custom color job and received it about 4 months later.

My 2nd GI2 was from the 1st batch but 2nd run right after my first which I also got to choose my custom paint job and that was part of a 20 piece order that came in to a shop.

Now the v2 sure has taken a bit because Marvz and Grand are working out making sure the v2 is as revolutionary as the first one was and a game changer. Innovation can't be rushed and in the process of changes design and spec wise they are having to source parts. They have all the parts but still waiting on some shipment of parts to start development.

I haven't seen the gi2 in person. I'm under the impression that they won't fit in your pocket very easily. I don't think I'm too interested. I would love to see a duke or ranger clone for like $50

The GI2 v1 is very pocket friendly in the front and back it's actually a lot smaller then the Duke.

In the morning I will post a picture of the size difference between my duke and the GI2 and then also the Chana clone.

It's about the same size as the Chana clone and everyone person who has used mine locally or at meets has been amazed how small it actually is. They all thought it was a huge device when it really isn't.

Whoa I didn't know that I thought the thing was huge, I would probably buy one if it's around $120 or so....

Issue is once you take the cost of the Duke parts and everything you are right about the cost of $50 especially if you aren't ordering the parts in $1,000+ orders.

Goss has put up how to make the Duke on his youtube long time ago for anyone who wanted to create their own as it was Open Source just like all of Mamu and everyone elses projects. He has since moved on from making the Dukes but there are a lot of OTR devices that have come up in the Dukes place.

The way I figured when I ordered my first one it was $215 for the device, $50 shipping, and $15 for the annodizing of any color I wanted. I justified the price tag with first it being a total innovation in the industry not a single person has developed a LCD screened device that ran off a SD card that cached everything it wrote to the SD card and also allowed for 6 wall papers colored , went up to 165 watts, and also allowed you to sub ohm ( they tested it down to .18) I have taken mine lower but haven't tried to go below .1 ohms on it.

Worst case if it didn't work which it does I had a piece of history in vaping that changed everything that will be coming out now. Look at the Variant even though I think that was a total fail of a device personally it tried to compete with what the GI2 was bringing and many more will try to follow.

Do you think china could come out with a cheaper okr t/10 chip or something comparable, like they've done with the dna30

I think they can clone or duplicate any chip except for the actual GI2 chip since that was custom done by the team and contains over 100,000 lines of code probably now closer to 150,000 lines of code.

I honestly don't understand how they can do a software update and claim a 60% increase in power.

Seems pretty fishy to me.
60% of 50 is 30. Fifty watts plus thirty watts is 80 a 60% increase.

Alibaba already has it up on their site. I'm sure it not a pic of the clone.

http://limwell.en.alibaba.com/produ...&edm_cta=read_msg&edm_time=realtime&edm_ver=e

Yep their clone is going to be a piece of pulse width modulation , raptor, SX piece of crap clone.

The specs on the Alibaba:

- 100 WATT Maximum Output
- Sub Ohm Fires to .4 ohms
- 2.5-5.5 Maximum Voltage Output
- 13-15 Amp Limit
- On/Off Switch
- Runs on 2 18650 Batteries
- PCB Board Temp Checker
- 99mm x 53mm x 28mm
- SD Card Slot for Custom Wallpaper

The real GI2 has

- 165 WATT Maximum Output
-Tested to fire down to .18 ohms and I have gone even lower.
- 18 amp limit

It has to be in the board itself. I read YiHi originally designed the board to handle 110 watts and 20 amps. So 80 watts shouldn't be pushing it to hard.

Not to quibble, but if the GI2 has a 165 W maximum output and 18 amp limit, then it would have to put out 18A at 9.2 volts to achieve that.
Kinda difficult with a buck regulator and a 7.4V battery.

The GI2 is 100 watt hard limit but under certain conditions and builds people have got it to hit 165 for about 1 second before it cut off saying it was over load.
