Vaping Equality

My workplace just enacted a policy forcing vapers to move to the designated SMOKING area to vape. This is completely unfair. Everyone that I work with that vapes stopped smoking by vaping. We don't want to be around smokers and we shouldn't be forced to. Any opinions from you guys?

Sadly, not from me. It's almost the same at my work.
Although, most of the security staff at my place don't bother us, many of which are smokers who have shown interest in vaping.

The people that don't smoke or vape are the main cause of those issues.
Sometimes get dirty looks from a security person, they see the smoke but see no cig. Might think we threw it away when they walked by, or they are just pissed because they thought we were smoking then realize we're not. Sometimes a security person or one of the safty staff will shoo us over to the smokers area, but we tend to stay up wind of the smokers. It's an open area against the front of the building and the wind normally blows the same direction past it. No clue why, maybe just because of the building and surroundings.

Sorry dude.

IMHO you are screwed as the morons in Human Resources have made up their minds.

The only thing I can think of is to approach them hat in hand and tell them it is not fair to you to have to share the same area with people that still smoke and force you to be in a second hand smoke area that you started vaping to avoid in the first place.

You are correct , but it's like piss off a few people or piss off a lot of people . Some non smoker dropped a dime .

Our smoking area is about 10'x10' and has walls on 3 sides. Which sucks. Unfortunately there's no staying away from smokers for us.

Been there, my best advice is to use it as a teaching time/ tool to show the smokers what it is about. no pressure tactics on them, just keep vaping and you will be surprised at how many people you may turn onto vaping.

Unfortunately, in the West today freedom is illegal, our political and intellectual masters are creating a narritive on the planet that total control is not only acceptable, but the "final solutin" for everything from saving the polar bears to teen acne,to regretable choices in sexual partners made under the influence of tequila....in none of these cases is logic or reason of any avail....obey the law when your forced to,skirt it when you can,and break it when possible.

on a side note, something in our favor with vaping at work, atleast at my place, the cleaning people seen to be far nicer to vapers then to smokers. Guess they like not having to clean asktrays and pick up butts.

I agree with that approach. Lately I have found that many times adversity can be turned around with the right mindset. Every person to turn on to vaping represents a life changed and another voter!

Companies are starting to eliminating smoking on company property. Unfortunately, e-cigarettes have been lumped into this. You should discuss with your company as previously recommended. All the negative propaganda on indoor air quality of e-cigarettes are misleading.
