I want your opinions on this recipe before I mix it (Still insecure about this whole DIY thing).

8% TPA Crème de menthe
5% FA Peppermint
2% FA Menthol Arctic
1% TPA Koolada

I'd separate them first, use Creme OR Peppermint, not both together.

Might be better to start with FA Peppermint at 2% then go up from there.
Koolada sounds about right but IDK about using it together with FA Menthol, might separate them too.

This will freeze you, even with 2% peppermint.

How about
2% Peppermint
1% Menthol Arctic

Does that seem like a reasonable starting point?

I find FA Peppermint to be super strong. I don't use it over .5% for anything. I would say what ever recipe you go with, start peppermint really low and slowly bring it up, especially if you are going to pair it with menthal.

Whoa. FA Peppermint at 5%...sounds painful. I rarely use it, but when I do, I'm like @Zeeli and use it around 0.5%.

umm.. 1% menthol arctic might be good but if you knock it down to about .5-.75% it's a bit tamer..

did you try them all as singles first?

I haven't tried them as singles. Actually I'm kinda of new to DIY and I got burned with my first recipe which I really didn't like. Now I'm just trying to find something I will enjoy in the hopes I didn't buy all that VG and PG for nothing.

always single test your flavors when you get them..
see my note above..

once you are familiar with the flavors, then you can understand a recipe better and start planning out your own.. :)
you will get the hang of it.. just keep trying..

No one on this site made their first order and instantly made something they liked. The first thing I put together tasted like a Christmas glade plug in... Be patient! Single taste your flavors like @Smoky Blue suggested. Then start small, 2 maybe 3 flavor combos. You will get the hang of it. It is frustrating in the beginning, but a blast once you figure it out. Everyone is still learning!

I use FA Peppermint up to 2% along with Menthol and Koolada but it's pretty intense. It's to keep my little brother off a pack of menthols a day. He needs some serious intensity. If I were to use it all day I would probably cut the Peppermint back to 1% or less. Actually, I just remembered that when I first started DIY (FA peppermint was on my very first order) and after reading a painfully wrong spreadsheet of recommended percentages, I mixed my first run of FA peppermint at 5% standalone. Don't do that. Start at 1%. 1% Menthol is a good starting point as well it seems. Do those first by themselves standalone so you'll know how to mix them. Then once you know how to mix them add Koolada at maybe 0.5% to start. I had some WL menthol that was ok up to 4% but I just got some from ECX that was way too strong at 2%. You just have to start low and work your way up. I wish I had a shortcut for you. Believe me, I tried to take them all. Never worked out for me.

It's a very good vape once you get it down though. Nice and clean, refreshing. Don't wreck yourself on a flavor by using too much though. You may never recover.

Very informative post, thank you. I guess I'll have to take my time.
It won't take long to get this recipe going. Make a 5ml sample of mint and another of menthol both at 1%. If one or both is too weak or strong, go ahead and make a mix of the two and increase or decrease by 0.5% as needed. You'll have something vapeable in just a couple hours. Then spend time with it and tweak each time you run out. You picked a good recipe to start with. Simple but good and always a good fallback when other recipes fail.

ETA - you are very welcome. Glad to help! I don't have a lot of experience but this is one I have been making for awhile. Always stoked to give back. I've learned so much from the great guys and gals of VU in the 5 short months I've been DIYing.

Yeps, take your time, and write down notes, Jack.. if you can remember to go low and slow with your flavors and work your way up..
you got this ;)

I dont know if you have other flavors but here is how i would fix this one up..

8% TPA Crème de menthe >take this to 5%
5% FA Peppermint > take this to 1-1.5%
2% FA Menthol Arctic >take this to 1-1.5%
1% TPA Koolada >>> and this one.. not sure on other vapers.. but it tends to fade on me after about 5 days to a week..

i'd replace the Koolada with .5% menthol (at this level, most cant taste it, unless you are a super taster)

I might ad a cream since this is a "Mrs." giggles.. and give her some caramel and maybe 1 drop!! of chocolate per 10ml
i'd also add in some sort of bread.. like cookie! (popular here on the forums) but only a tiny bit.. you dont want her fat! .25%
{{{note: using a bread at a extreme low, gives a filling type texture}}}

and the last optional add in.. Black Cherry fa at .25% just for a hint of something to break up all the cold..

but this is only what I would do.. if you want..
this would be a good spot to keep track of your changes to this juice.
I'd love to see your take and how you have your final mix.. good luck and dont get discouraged..
you will be bound to have goofs, but its all good.. some goofs turn out rather well :)

SmokyBlue is getting crazy! I'd take your time getting to your Minty Caramel Chocolate Cookie.

I sent my brother some samples of his mix (2% FA Perppermint, 1% ECX Menthol, 0.6% Koolada) but with fruits instead of mint. One Apple and one Blueberry. He just texted asking for big bottles of both. Once you find a pleasant strength of Menthol, and a pleasant strength of a fruit you like, try them together. I didn't try the samples I sent him first (too high nic for me) but I had already tested the apple mix (2 different apples) and the blueberry mix (2 different blueberries) on their own and got those percentages figured out. The Menthol and Koolada just cooled it off and gave it the kick he needs. I never would have thought Apple Menthol would be anyone's favorite but you never know what will work until you try!
