Which Nicotine Vendor Is "Best"?

So far I've narrowed the choices down to what I think are the best three:
  • eCig Express
  • Nude Nicotine
  • My Freedom Smokes
Any input? I'm going to start mixing my own juice, and these 3 seem to be pretty reputable. Although Nude Nicotine seems a bit pricey at $105 for 100mg liter.

So, any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Iv'e mixed with Wizlabs (notoriously harsh you probably have heard), ECX 60mg in 50/50, and VT 100mg 100VG from BCV. Even at a lower concentration, the ECX had a stronger smell than the VT, and the character of it was more pungent. In bold mixes, frankly I can't tell the difference at my low <4mg, but anything light or creamy or blonde, and the VT nic really shines. It's about 2-3 cents more expensive per 30ml of mixed juice for me to use the VT nic, assuming I structure my orders for free shipping etc, so it's very worth it imo.

One big order at BCV and you're in basically. Sign up for notifications, sells out fast. I know I sound like a fanboy but this is the cheapest way as far as I know.

After you taste the difference in a creamy/blonde/fruity vape, you might join the club of us that insist on VT :) If I was mainly tobaccos and ry4's, I wouldn't care as much tbh

Can't beat Vapersteck nic and price...$45 for a liter. Great product!!!

http://www.vaperstek.org/
You use the Throat Hit nic from VT? Have you compared it to other companies? All I know is RTS so far but my next order will be VT for sure. It won't make a difference to me @ 1mg/ml but I mix for a friend at 12mg/ml and he might notice if it's harsh or funky.

Thanks RP!

I recently did a side by side comparison between VT's TH and Regular VG and PG. I thought their TH in VG was excellent and worth the price.
I'm not fond of WL's, MFS's, RTS's nic...very harsh.
NN and Heartlands is good, but it's been ages since I've had NN. I still have some Heartlands stored and tried it recently. It seemed harsh even though it was good when I originally purchased it. Not sure what's up since I bottled it like I usually do.
I've never tried ecx, so I can't attest to their product. I can't remember the last time I heard anyone talk about their nic.
Like others have said, cleaner nic is nicer with lighter flavors. If I had unlimited funds, I'd go with VT non TH, but alas...I don't.
I know @ClaireW used to use NN. She might have better insight on them.

Edit:: odd spacing...hmm, that didn't work. Not sure why the spacing is funky

I'll never get over people recommending that others buy oxidized nic.
Have you confirmed it's oxidized nic? Or just nic the got from a source that wasn't their regular that they processed?

I've tried multiple supplier nicotine. I've settle on VT. Is it the best is a difficult question. I would recommend you try several vendors and decide for your self.

I've used Nude, Vaperstek, and some unknown brand I bought from a shop while waiting on a BCV order...liked Nude and VT enough that I'll probably never go anywhere else - will probably stick with VT as long as I can get it from BCV with a big order and free shipping, but Nude is almost literally in my backyard so if they'd let me pick up and avoid shipping charges (I haven't asked) I might go back there. They've also got some really tasty flavors from the free samples I've tried, but they're also quite expensive...it can't help that they're in La Jolla, the ritziest part of a high-rent town like San Diego...

Absolutely. That information is direct from VT. It's advertised as the same EU sourced nic.

I was wondering this too. @Time - where did ya hear this?

I read it in these forums.

Ask Kevin yourself. You've never been shy in that sense and he has been fairly open about it.

I think you're smart so you tell me how to make the same nic taste "gamey/peppery"?

There is only one way that I know of.

http://vapingunderground.com/threads/vt-nicotine-now-with-a-bite.10138/

And why is it so cheap compared to the normal VT nic if it's the same EU sourced nic and the same PG/VG? To get rid of the old batch maybe? It stands to reason that if care was taken to make it be different the cost of making it would go up, not down.

VT TH is the only nic I've used since I've tried it. It doesn't taste at all gamey, or peppery to me. It's smooth, only slight TH and crystal clear. Can't pass it up at the price! I just don't understand why some are sooooo opposed to it. Have you tried it and not liked it??

Gamey/Peppery are not my words, they are Kevin's words.

No, I have not tried VT "Throat Hit". I take care not to let my nic oxidize so I have no intention of buying any that is already oxidized. Especially for the same price that I can buy nic that isn't oxidized.

Maltol,
We actually mis treat the nic to oxidize it some before bottling it. You want bite and some burn we got it.

http://vapingunderground.com/threads/new-lower-price-on-peppery-nic-now-60.14118/#post-88318

It will be similar to provaris "blemished" mods. Some will have a bit more than others. And sometimes it may not have much bite at all. It's something we are just now trying to work on, so ymmv. But we thought at $60 it is a decent deal.

Em,
Are you asking why this nic we have at a lower price is peppery?
The reason being is we oxidize it a bit before bottling. We are still on the learning curve of getting I exactly right every time as it is tricky. But we feel it is as good as those other $45-60 nics if that is what one wants.

I say NN and VT are close in price and shipping and since I use 18mg of nic in my baccys and high PG I do not need or want any cheaper more peppery nic.;) No worries, if I make any other flavorings I skip using nic - works for me.:)

I'm a Vaperstek girl, but also a fan of NicVape, very clean and smooth, closest to Vaperstek.

Slightly off topic...

How long do VG and PG last at normal room temperature? The nicotine can't go in the freezer (12 year old niece lives here). So I just plan on buying 120ml 100mg nicotine (and keeping it locked up). But I'd like to get the liter size of PG and VG to save a few more dollars.

What about a small lock box in the very back of the freezer?
Or in the bottom if it's a chest freezer.

As for the opening post,
The nic I have now is from ecigexpress, 100mg/ml in VG
It's ok, but only at lower percentages. I dilute it to around 2mg with no issues, but at 3mg it tastes quite peppery.
This despite being separated into 15ml amber bottles and kept in the freezer so only 1 bottle is out at a time for use.

If you separate the pg and vg into smaller bottles, it will last for a couple-few years. It ages with exposure but does well sealed.

Hi all, Very new to DIY, can anyone comment on quality of http://www.xtremevaping.com Nicotine Base. I thought I did more research before buying this expensive stuff because
I had read somewhere that there stuff was a notch above most, but my 3mg mixes so far seem to have too much throat hit.
(it is very little, but more than other 3mg juice I've tried from some premium makers)
My mix calculations are confirmed with online calcs. I have also ordered a test kit just incase of mis-labeling.
Or have I been duped into paying WAY too much for average base. (only bought 120ml of 50mg/ml)

Time asks a good question. "Why would anyone want to buy oxidized nic"?

Answer: Because our premium nicotine was found to be "TOO CLEAN" for some people, especially those people doing tobaccos, and they wanted more of a "BITE". I have got nicotine from almost everyone in the 5 years or so I have been making E-liquid, and I can tell you that at no time have I ever NOT received "OXIDIZED NICOTINE" from any of those vendors, and from those I have not ordered nicotine from, I have seen pictures and anecdotal evidence, as well as read reviews to suggest that they also have " OXIDIZED NICOTINE" slip through, and it is not always a choice that someone made, but it's just the way it is.
Our TH nicotine which has some oxidation is cut under the same environmental conditions as our premium nicotine, and while it may be oxidized some, is still very "CLEAN" tasting, very little harsh after-taste, or feels like their is a " coating " on the inside of the mouth. Oxidized and Clean are 2 different issues I believe. You can have Oxidized dirty nicotine, and you can have Clean Oxidized nicotine. They will be different in how they taste and feel in the palate.
Again, to answer your question, most are tobacco users.

I appreciate your reply on this. That was kind of the point I've tried expressing with your TH nic. I prefer it, even though I'm not much of a tobacco vaper. I just like the touch of TH this one has, and still the clean flavor. It allows me to taste the flavors I use and still get a mild TH. Thanks for your input, Kevin.

http://www.vaperstek.org/1-liter-eu-sourced-throat-hit-nic-100-mg-usp-ep/

Product Description
Our Premium Nicotine with a Kick, for those of you who like a "BITE."

1 Liter bottle of nicotine which is:

  • sourced from the EU
  • mixed by Vapers Tek using Chemnovatic nicotine
  • either PG or VG based
  • 100 mg/mL concentration
  • USP/EP pharmaceutical grade
I wonder why you call it "throat hit" nic rather than just be honest and say it's old oxidized nic that you sell at a discount? No mention of the oxidation on your site. In fact, you still call it "premium". Albeit, with a "Kick".

Me thinks it's because people wouldn't be lining up to buy old oxidized nic if you actually disclosed that on your website.

The thought that get's me giggling is the people that buy it and then put it in the freezer in brown containers to keep it from,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,oxidizing.

I find your marketing to be dishonest so I really can't believe the rest of your claims. Especially after you claim to intentionally oxidize your premium nic but sell it at less than half the price labelled as throat hit nic. Nobody, and I mean nobody, takes good nic and intentionally oxidizes it and sells it for less money. It makes no sense. And that is what you claimed in the posts I quoted above.

Kevin hit the nail on the head right there. The "clean" of VT nic is what allows the true flavor of your flavorings to come through. That's the reason I use only VT nic now, after using several others and finding VT clearly superior. I have bought multiple bottles of VT's premium and "throat hit" nic (all in VG because that's what I vape). In all cases it simply delivers better flavor than all other brands I've tried. I've written in detail describing the effect on many of my favorite flavors in detail elsewhere, so won't repeat all that here.

I vape at a higher nic level than most, often with less flavoring than average, and I can't stand "off" flavors lurking in my vapes. VT's premium AND their TH nic in VG don't add those "off" flavors - that's why I use it and recommend it. But don't take my word for it:

Try this test. Mix a few recipes or single flavors with no nic, vape some, then add your nic and vape some. If you aren't happy with the change from adding nic, you owe it to yourself to try some VT. Bullcityvapor.com sells small quantities of their premium nic for under $5. Small price to pay to find out for yourself.

Let's be clear so I get this right.

People believe that VT is taking perfectly good "Premium nicotine" and "oxidize it a bit before bottling" and then selling it for $80 less a liter for people that think his nic is too "clean"?

Or, is it more likely that a bunch of nic went south(oxidized) and VT needed a way to move it from inventory?

Everyone is welcome to spend their money on whatever they like, even if it's hype and marketing. ;)

I like playing devils advocate... being completey unbias / new it does seem kinda odd that they are taking premium NIC, spending more time and resources with it to Oxidize it and then selling it for Half-Price?? That doesn't add up AT ALL....

Doesn't mean I won't eventually try both, I suspect the quality is clean what are we missing with this math?

So, Time could you tell us how and to what degree Oxidized nic affects the flavor of the juice, and also what precautions do you take when storing and mixing to make sure your nic does not get oxidized.

Does this mean that you guys are receiving oxidized nic since you're cutting it procedurally the same as the good stuff?

For what it's worth, the last batch I got from Nude tasted WAY peppery, left a "hot spot" in the center of my tongue. Went straight to Vaperstek and have used it ever since. The rest of the pepper-nic from Nude Nicotine went in the freezer for hard times. Or maybe a mix for someone I don't like.... ;)

Thanks..Time,,, I've usually bought from nude nictoine oddly enough...do you recommend heartland over nude nicotine. I just tried VT and it seems much "lighter" than nude nic maybe too light it does however seems to let the flavor shine through a bit better.., not as peppery. easier on the sinuses.

No, I don't recommend Heartland over Nude. I use heartland for price and after ten months, my nic is the same as when I bought it. Clear. Tastes good to me. I don't have an opinion of nude. I linked to their page because it had the best simple explaination of oxidation and storage.

I only recommend non oxidized nic over oxidized nic. Small amounts might not matter much but if you need it to last, oxidized nic is not what a person should buy, nor a new person. And I recommend being aware of shady marketing.

Update:

Well, I decided to get my Nic, VG and PG from MFS. I couldn't pass up the $40 deal on the 100mg liter. Also, I ordered about 25 flavorings (mostly FA with a few Capella's mixed in) from eLiquidMart.com. I also ordered 1, 3, 5 & 10 ml/cc syringes from Amazon along with some 18g blunt tips.

While at MFS, I also decided to try the Innokin iTaste MVP 20w mod - heck, it was only $22. I'm new to this stuff, so I'll start learning about sub-ohm vaping and rebuildables after I get a fairly good grip on mixing my own juices.

Thanks for all of your input!

I used Nude Nicotine's 100mg nic for the first time yesterday and am loving it. I made a bunch of samples (32 8ml bottles) at varying strengths of the 15 flavors I ordered, and mixed them with some Ecigexpress nic just to try to finish the bottle. Very peppery. As one of the flavors was decent without steeping, I mixed a larger bottle using Nude's nic and the throat hit and pepperiness disappeared completely.

I just pulled a bottle of MFS out of the freezer. Tastes like burnt popcorn. All nicotine oxidizes but each brand has a different taste.

Huh. Well, I have the liter of 100mg 50/50 nic from MFS and I have a 15 ml sample of the Nude 100mg 100% VG nic. I'll try them side-by-side for a flavor comparison.

For people who use flavors it may not matter, but I only vape unflavored. To be fair Nude Nicotine tastes like roasted pineapple and Vapers Tek tastes like an earthy mushroom.Neither of which bother me,but the burnt popcorn just isn't for me.
