Hi VU, I'm a pack and to two packs a day smoker hoping to kick em. Tried e-cigs but always went back to old ways. I have a Ipv mini 2 on the way with a kanger sub tank mini. What level nicotine should I start at? Thanks

Why did you smoke?

If you smoked for the throat hit you may need to start off with a higher nic. When I started, I was at 24mg.

If you can find small bottles of juice maybe get a few in different strengths like 12 and 18 to see which does the trick for you.

After you vape for a while and are off the stinkies, most will drop their nic level down. I started on 24mg in 2009 and am now down to 6mg..

When I smoked, it was for the throat hit..

there are no shoulds...period...vape whatever gets you off cigs if that's 3mg of nic or 24 mg of nic, or if it is vaping WTAs...everybody has their own personal needs and tastes..give yourself time aqnd permission to find your unique vape.

12mg is a good start, if that doesn't take cravings away then up it until you find what works:) Welcome to VU:)

Hi expydude, welcome to VU. I personally don't have experience with either of those, but I will agree with starting at 12, see how that goes. From there you can go up or down. Maybe even look into customizable samples from juice vendors.

24'll peel the paint off a horse. :D
I have a friend whose been vaping for years, and he vapes 24mg in a kayfun...he only vapes kayfuns and only at 24mg...go figure...but it works for him....I vape around 13 to 15 mg in a gennys....but of course both of us were hardcore longtime smokers...besides horses are pussies..they usually smoke lights.

Keep plenty of coils on hand too.

You got some good gear but it's not good for much other than a paperweight
if you don't have fresh coils on hand and you know where that'll lead ya. Welcome!

Back when I started vaping i think that was the normal starting point for many. The gear was all low powered and higher nic was really the only way you were going to get a good throat hit. Heck there were people vaping 36mg...

I think my brother started at that level...

These days 12 is probably a good starting point and then adjust up to 18 if needed.

Thank u all for the pointers. That was the problem I had with the blu and things like hit. Wasn't like a real hit of the cig lol. I'll start at twelve then move up or down as needed. I would definitely rather spend money on vapes than tar sticks

First I want to say congratulations on taking the first step and deciding to quit and getting a decent device. As all have said 18 is a starting point. The subtank, like any subohm atomizer, will deliver large quantities of nicotine. Clearomizers and cartomizers did not deliver as much, so back in the day you needed a high mg to satisfy the urge. Start at 18 and adjust up or down from there. You will know if it's enough because you won't need to hit it all the time. a few puffs and a break if I didn't do that my nic was too low. Your body will tell you what you need.

My best advice tho is don't think you are going to get the same feeling or experience from ecigs as you would an analog. View this as something completely different or the comparison won't match up and you will be on analogs again. Also, if you want to go back to analogs come on here first everyone will help you stay off analogs. This is the first step of a wonderful journey good luck my friend.

Welcome to the underground and congrats on your new stinkie free life!

Yep, make sure you get plenty of extra heads as its not like you can walk into a gas station and pick up a pack when you run out.

Me, I would start at 18mg of nic. If you were not using a Subtank, I would have suggested 24mg.

Me, I was a "Stogie Sucker" and I started out at 36mg.

But down to 6mg now:D

And remember to drink plenty of water. Vaping will dry out your mouth tissues to the point where you can 't taste the flavors of your E-Liquids.

Water and frequent trips to the bathroom are a vapers best friend!

Welcome to VU
Good luck

Do the level of nicotine that stops you from smoking. No set rule on this. You can always adjust.
You can purchased 2 bottles in the same flavor. One 24mg and one 12 mg. If 24 is to strong, mix equal parts of 24mg and 12mg to get 18mg.

Welcome aboard! Already a lot of good advice mentioned above.

The 12-18mg range was my starting point then down to 6mg within a week or two. A few months later, 3mg range and on occasion 0mg. I mix my own, so I change things up as I feel like.

Finding what works for you is certainly key, each journey is different and you can always adjust as needed.

When I started vaping I started on 24 mg now I'm on o nic to 3 mg depending on how I feel. with the kit available now I'd start at 12 as the tanks and coils are better than they were a year or two ago.

I don't encourage trying this, BUT, if you do think you want a cigarette, willing to bet you don't get past the 3rd puff without thinking, "This tastes like CHIT!!!" Congrats on your 48 hours. That's truly an accomplishment!! :)
