1st box mod, which one to get?

With all these high watt box mods coming out, I really want one too see what the rage is about. I want to semi retire my vamo & see how non PWM performs. I was going to get a hana/Cana or the diy kit, but the reviews seem a little too varied for my liking. Based on what everyone is saying about the ipv, would that be a good one to start with? I found one here last night for a great price http://myepack.co.uk/mods/ipv-v2-50w-box-mod.html
Anyone deal with them before? Obviously, the cheaper the better. I would like to keep it under $100, preferably $80. But if the quality & performance is there, I'll spend a little extra. Should I go for that one I linked, or something else?
Thanks in advance

This really depends on how you vape and what equipment you use. The IPV line is not a good choice if you use tanks, but is brilliant if you only drip. Take a look at the devices you prefer and use and ohms law calculator to see if you're going to get the vape you're looking for. My choice would be the Tatroe Atlas. It uses the SX-350 chip which can up regulate and down regulate. It can regulate from 1.5v~9.5v, 7watts~50watts. So it can regulate about any device you put on it. The SX-330 cannot down regulate, so you have a very reduced range of regulation. For example, an Aerotank Mega with a 1.5ohm coil and a fresh battery will fire at it lowest 11.76 watts. I find anything above 9.5watts on an Aerotank will burn the coil very quickly giving a nice burned taste. The SX-350 will truly regulate (with deadly accuracy) anything from 5 to 50 watts as long as it is between 1.5v~9.5v. And the SX-350 is upgradeable by using your computer. YiHi has already committed to a 60w and 80 w upgrade, so very flexible device. But if all you do is sub-ohm, I think the SX-330 will work great for you.

I only use my aerotank at work on my svd. For home use, I use my pulse & sometimes rsst. I have a couple drippers coming & also want to get a kayfun (or similar). I've pretty much gotten away from mesh. I've been using silica for awhile now & going to try cotton out. Currently, I stay around 10 - 11 watts. However I really want to get away from PWM.

Drone, when you say not brilliant for tanks, are you referring to clearos or rebuildable?

Same thing really Savage (kayfuns or clearos). It depends on what you build your Kayfuns to. But since you're building your own Kayfuns, you can make it work great with any device. If you decide you want to rock an Aerotank or CE-4 or whatever you will need to look at the minimum power you can put out with the SX-330 to determine if you are going to get a good vape (not so with the SX-350, just dial it in to the power you want all the way down to 1.5v. One mod to rule them all kind of deal). But you can just build the Kayfun to what the device can handle... whichever device you get so that shouldn't be an issue. BTW, the SX-350 also has a bypass mode so you can use it like a mech if you want and dump straight battery power to the atty. I have nothing against the SX-330 chip, what it does I think it does very well, I just think at this point in time the SX-350 is a serious contender and far exceeds the capabilities of the SX-330 in just about every way. What I mean is that the SX-350 outperforms the SX-330 in amount of power it can produce, regulation range, features (like bypass mode) and upgradability.

You won't be making a mistake with either chipset, they are both true DC output and both will perform very well.

Just looked up the Atlas & a couple other 350 mods, way out of my price range. I did find 350 box parts. For me to get a sx350 mod it will have to be diy. That or I go with a 330 mod.

Would you mind posting pics of it? I'm curious about the outside looks & inside fitment of the chip. I realize most of the finished product would depend on steady hands. I know I can do it, but don't have much confidence in my fab skills. I'm too much of a perfectionist & usually end up going to far.

I'll throw some pics up tomorrow morning. Just from my phone, but it should be enough to get an idea. I did add a FDV 510 and a Keystone battery sled, total for both of those was $14. Didn't really need them, the Cloupor parts were fine but thought I would put them in anyway.

Are there no American vendors selling the IPV V2 yet?
To answer your question I've been dealing with myepack for months, I've bought quite a few things from them, always very quick delivery and good deals.
Not so hot on the communications front though.
Got my IPV V2 from there and it is, as you'd say over there, kicking some serious hiney :)

Contact VaperCompany (Jason) ... they are in CA.
He will get an IPV2 to you in 2 days. $109.00 (a MSRP price set by pioneer4you) is hard to beat.

I went from a Vamo v5 (limited to 15 watts and only down to 1.3 ohms) to this amazing little box mod. I now build down to .4 (dual twisted 28 Kanthal) and fire it up to 50 watts (and then sit down because the room spins). Every tank I have works great for this versatile box.

To tell you true, I am really digging the $56 Hanna clone from Focal. Vaping on it right now. That sucker and a VCT5 will do a great job for you.

And speaking as a GUY (and I have the papers and a perpetually PO'd wife to prove my claim) I totally get the new and improved new toy, high wattage and the need for a cool new shiny thing deal.

Sure it will do 30 watts. I tried it briefly once.

Won't do it again willingly.

Very happy at 14.5 watts max.

Can't say that you would. I've digitally known you long enough to know that you speak an honest opinion. Your quips & jokes aside, I value your opinions & reviews. The same goes for our departed Slap & a few others from our other forum, as well a growing list of people here.

I'm still considering a hana style. The build drone posted looks clean & very doable for me. Soldering is no problem, it's the fab I'm worried about. If I do build one, I'm leaning towards what drone did. Or maybe a Hammond box with shape ways cover.

Since myepack.co.uk is obviously in the UK, what currency do they use? Euros or GBP?
64.99 EU = 87.01 USD
64.99 GBP = 109.74 USD
which means that potential deal I found isn't that great. I could end up building a sx350 mod for ipv msrp.
