Just wanted to check this was safe regarding dual coils.

Hi people, I am currently running an El Cabron clone, and the 30 gauge produced more vapour, but it seemed less dense than the 28, which produced slightly less but denser. I thought if I made a coil of 30 and one of 28, I get the best of both worlds, just checking this is OK as the vape calculator says coils must match?

It works great, with the amount of vapour I want if I push it, and If I turn it down it turns into a reasonable device with nice flavour with a thinner drip tip.

Its just the part on the vape calculator saying coils must match making me wary, thought I best clarify it is indeed safe before I carry on using it.

Thanks, Conan.

It wont effect the batteries or mod at all as far as I know.

But both coils need to be as close to the same resistance as possible and heat up at the same rate, or one will heat up faster then the other and you could find a mix of dry hit + wet hit at the same time.

Ahh thank you for your honest reply. It does seem to work, but I might just go back dual 30's, as they work at a lower wattage and are an acceptable amount of vapour at a lower wattage, but if I want to I can turn it up and they still throw out more than I imagined they would.

I don't want dry hits, done that once, horrible, felt like it burnt my throat and coughed like crazy. I will swap it to 30 for this reason.

I would say to make them about the same number of wraps. So the 30 gauge would be higher resistance, and not get too hot. IMHO!
