I was watching a RipTrippers video from 12/13 when the spinner 'was the tits' and also thought about where i'm at with vaping. Also i now think of what is possibly 'the best' you can be vaping in July 2015. Its subjective i know but im sure there could be some thoughts on it.

Velocity RDA with random ohm nickel coil is where im at. Random as i still dont understand temp control and im just happy if i can set my device at the second suggested ohm reading if its withing .05 of the first.

What could be the best vape set up at the mo? What will be 'the norm' in a year you think?

Hi Kom, I will move this to the rebuild area so others can chime in:)

I can't say I think there is a 'best' at the moment. I haven't been vaping for that long. Briefly when cigalikes were all that were easily found and for about 7 months now. However, I think I'm familiar enough with the evolution of Vape tech to say that it's a whole different world than what was around a few years ago. While maybe not "objectively" better, the first spinner batteries must have seemed like a revolution to the majority of vapers when they were released. There simply wasn't that much around. These days though the market has gotten so big and the the options so plentiful and varied that it has gotten much more subjective. I like mechs and drippers, some people like Geny tanks, others Subtanks. The options are literally becoming endless and the market sees the next big thing released weekly

With that said, even if I don't prefer to use them, I can't see Temp control mods not becoming standard issue over the next few months. It may be trickier to learn but as more and more mods are released that feature it companies will learn to make it more intuitive for the average user. I have a hard time believing that there would be many VW mods released in a year from now that can't TC.

My vaping evolved from a truly wretched flea market ecig called the Smart Ecig. A "friend" gave it to me. You could vape it for 2 hours, then you had to charge it for 3 hours, and it really and truly sucked. Knowing there had to be something better I went to the flea market it came from, got an ego battery, a clearo, and some juice. I got more batteries so I could vape all day, but was far from satisfied. Got a Kanger Protank and a couple spinners. Nope, that didn't do it for me either. Three weeks later I was using a mech and building my genny sub-ohm. Two years on I'm still using mechs and gennies sub-ohm and very happy. Started making my own juice too, and now I don't need the B&M's for anything. I have a nice collection of mechs, the latest additions being an Atimizoo Roller and a Poldiac, and I managed to get an authentic Kraken for $80 last week. Have a DID on the way from MMV, and an Origen V2 genny as well.

So the vaping industry is evolving and changing, but I'm not. I love my mechs and gennies and have no interest in the latest gimmick box. I much prefer the tubular format over the box, and I don't want electronics in my vape. My control is my build, and if you can do that right you don't need to resort to electronics.

Yes. What was the question?

I'm tempted to tell you what my Crystal Ball shows. Why not? The future will be more of the same.

When we run out of true innovations (e.g. Temperature Tuned Vaping), we will get to enjoy styling, miniaturization, and whatever else will get offered up to make us consider spending for something we don't already have. Mechs are not gonna go away, but the folks using them will get crustier over time. Periodically, mechs will enjoy popularity surges as fashion trends cycle. Planned obsolescence will continue to drive the purchase cycle.

Borrowing lighters will steadily increase in difficulty. Matches? What are matches?

I started off when Ego batteries and CE4's were the in thing. I did stop vaping for a while, but I still own the Ego and CE4 tanks ( I tried one the other day as my fiancee wants a vape, used a Protank mini on it, it was the least dense, smallest vapour I have ever seen).

I can't believe we got on with them at one point, and was actually successful in stopping smoking with them.

i am going to give my fiancee the Sig 30 on her birthday, with a nautlius, SMOK RSBT2, and an RDA, not sure what one to get her yet as she likes using my device (sig 30) for the flavours, and she has just stopped smoking and says it helps her not smoke, so as I am getting a small upgrade (sig 50) I might as well let her have this. (BTW I have bought her a nice present too, I am not just giving her used things incase people think I am being a cheapskate lol)

She can take small hits off an RTA, but she coughs if she takes bigger ones, so thats why I am giving her the nautilus to start with to get used to vaping. I let her use it when she uses my device ( we are together 24/7, so even if I did want to use the 30 I still could, just thought it might as well get some use instead of sitting in its box).

I find the 30 watts to be enough for me, well enough in fact. I am buying the 50 as if I run it at 30 watts that is not its maximum, and well, I like buying and collecting things lol.

So, I am happy with a sig30, soon to be 50 but I doubt I need them extra watts, its just nice to have them there, and vaping has evolved a lot since I last vaped with the Ego batteries and CE4 clearomizers that you had to replace instead of rebuild, rebuildables are new to me and I find them fascinating. Thats why I have a few RDA's and RTA's already, the lemo V2 is now my favourite 'take out' tank. It was the nautilus, but now I prefer direct to lung, and with the drip tip I use I would say flavour is around the same level, although the nautilus mini is an amazing tank for flavour.

Also, I plan in a few months to get the Sig 75 Temp control, I was going to buy it on payday, but I am going to wait a few months so I am not a guinea pig and any issues can be ironed out.

But, essentially, I am happy with a nice tank and something that can throw out 30 watts maximum.

( I usually only use about 12-14 of these watts in my RTA's and get the best flavour and reasonable vapour, I am using a 1.5Ohm coil in it though, as I wanted to make it close to the nautilus as that had amazing flavour, benefit of this is I don't need to run at super high watts and still get a nice tasting vape).

Ah, anybody else still vaping a Prodigy V3 with unranked 2.0ohm cartos? It was my daily cape for 4 years. I still pull it out from time to time and it still works like the day I got it!

I think I got back into vaping at a good time. I missed the mechanical MOD stage ( They were available, but I remember out of my price range), which in a way I am glad I missed.

I know I would of had an accident with a mech mod, that is why I will never own one. I know some people love them, and thats cool, they just really are not for me with my issues.

I much prefer the safety of regulated PWM, and not having to change my coil if I want more/less vapour and watts.

For me I go with the KISS theory... Keep it simple, stupid. Temp control, 100W, quad coils, blah, blah, blah. My current set up is a iJust2 with stock tank, running the .3 ohm eLeaf coils when I'm out and about, or I swap on the Plume Veil at home to drip (also a single coil build at .3). Good clouds, awesome taste, and CHEAP. My next mod will be a mech, I prefer simplicity, just enjoying a good vape!
