Kanger Subtank Mini .5 ohm coil or 1.2 ohm coil?

So I'm planning on buying a Kanger subtank mini for my Istick 30watt and I'm not sure If I should buy the .5 ohm coils or the 1.2 ohm coils as replacements. I'm looking for decent size clouds with nice flavor and I also want to maximize my Istick and use up to 30watts for when I want a huge cloud but around 20-25w as more of a casual setting and since the 1.2ohm coil is only rated for use between 12w and 25w I'm not sure if I should get those or the .5 ohm coils as replacements.

Im using a Subtank nano on my IStick 30 with the .5 coils at 18 watts and flavor is awesome with really nice
vapor production. Im sure the .5 coils will perform great in your mini at 20-25 watts. Enjoy your subtank!

The 1.2 works pretty well, the temp is about the same as my Aero 1.8's the .5 gives a bit better flavor but it's a little warmer then I like. I'm usually around 17-20w on the IPV mini or Cool Fire4. I can get better flavor on the Aerotank at 13.5w if I close the air flow down to 4 holes.

I am currently using the 1.2Ω at 14.5w and it does just fine. Have yet to use the .5Ω. I'm sure it is gonna be too hot for my tastes. On a whim I kept the stock .6Ω build on one of my Lemo 2's and run it at 26w. Not a fan. After I kill these two heads I plan to rebuild them and use the rebuildable deck over buying more coils.

Depending on the actual coil, whether it's a clone or not depends on the actual wattage. I can go up to 45watts with this one but 35 is my sweet spot

Just a little thing. If you want bigger clouds I suggest you get the isub tank. Not the isub G just the first one. The subtank mini does produce but the isub has more production. Only thing with the isub is I'd stay away from citrus and cinnamon flavours. It may crack the tank, not being glass. And it's really cheap. I got one for $14. I actually prefer it more than the subtank mini. It hits great at 30watts. That's my sweet spot with the 0.5 coils. And the coils for it are half the price at about $10 for a 5 pack. Check out the innoken isub. It comes in different colours. The only thing I found with it is, like most other coils, you may get a dry hit. Just very gently poke a hole with a small pin thru the cotton. There are YouTube vids on how to do it. It hits like Mike Tyson used to hit back in his day! YouTube a review on it. It has some pretty cool feature with the no mess coil change system. However the drip tip on it is fixed so you can't remove it and add your own but its pretty wide bore. It's a champ. I love it. Just YouTube it and check it out.

Hope that helps you

My vote is for the 0.50 ohm coils.

The .5 coils are freaking crazy good. I have all sorts of wicked builds on the RBA under my belt...Im not even wasting any more time with it. These stock coils are more then good. my .02

Another thing to consider is your eliquid. My favorite flavor tastes terrible on the 0.5 ohm coil (the hotter temp just kills the flavor). Also, I tend to use 50/50 PG/VG blends with the 1.2 ohm, 30/70 PG/VG and higher VG with the 0.5 ohm.

How about just stopping by a store and getting 1 or 2 coils of each - find out for yourself which you prefer.

I use all of the different ohm and both horizontal and vertical coils in my Subtanks depending upon juice and mod.

I would say to grab a couple of each and try them at different wattages with different juices to find what you like best.
