I have a quick question about an idea i have. Can i put 10/90 pg/vg in a tank and have good results or is this just a completely bad idea? Im just wondering because it is extremely thick, but i use 20/80 daily with no issues so just curious.

What tank? Some of the newer subtanks with huge wick exposure might be okay, others (Subtank, Atlantis v1) might have issues. No way I'd go past 25/75 or 30/70 in a last-generation clearo, and even then that's pushing it...

Which tank you'll use? It's not really a problem but depends on tank, some tank can't handle high VG as to wicking issues.

I've vaped 11/89 PG/VG liquid in an Atlantis 1 and it was fine so I think you'll be ok. Especially since it's summer - I'd be more careful in the winter because the cold would make the liquid more viscous.

Or, just dilute the liquid in your tank with a drop of (distilled) water.

I had no troubles using juices with over 80% VG in the Nautilus or Atlantis V1 in late Fall.

This probably works for any tank. If the juice is too thick to wick by itself and dry hits happen, just blow some air down the tip to force some into the tank and increase the pressure so the liquid is forced out into the wick. Takes some time to get the hang of it though, create too much pressure in the tank and it will flood.

How thick is the liquid? PG/VG ratios are really no more than a general guideline. A 10/90 (or any other ratio) is not exactly that, as flavorings and solvents (which may be alcohol and water in addition to PG & VG) also make up part of the total amount. A PG-free liquid can be thin. A PG-free flavoring may still only be 30% VG. There are many variables to e-liquids.

So just try it. If it wicks well, good. If not, mix in DI water or PG--just 1-2 drops at a time, depending on the size of your bottle. It may not take much at all. Record how much you add for future reference, to know just how much you need to thin it.

Depends on how you calculate it out.

If making your own, it's very easy to be accurate with the pg/vg ratio.
I have a liquid that is 10% pg and 90% vg. That 10% is PG based flavoring, no additional PG added. My nicotine is VG based.

Also, I think all e-liquid calculators account for the flavoring base in calculating how much pg and vg to use.

Zaroba is right. There are some VG-based flavorings but most flavorings used in the vapor industry are PG-based. The nicotine is usually PG-based *or* VG-based (or some variation such as 50/50 PG/VG or whatever).

I use VG-based nicotine. So if I'm making a 100mL of a eliquid that contains 12%/12mL (PG-based) flavoring, I'd add 18%/18mL more PG (to make the 30%), then 70%/70mL VG/VG-based nicotine.

If your nicotine base is a mixture of PG/VG, calculators can take that into account and give you precise numbers.

There are a number of VG-based flavorings. The majority are PG-based. A number are also a combination of the two (such as 24/73 PG/VG, with the difference being flavoring, alcohol, water). Nicotine can be used PG- or VG-based.

Off the shelf, the majority of flavorings seem to be PG-based. Depending on what company you are ordering flavorings from, you may be able to specify what you would prefer. This might be much more common with flavor companies that will do custom wholesale orders than with off-the-shelf retail companies, I'm sure.
