Would love to get in on the cheap $33 deal for the 100, but I'm waiting to see what @Mike H. has to say about his.

Took my buddy to get one, he loves it. No explosion. Plus it's using 18650s

Hope not either, but if it does, you can be sure eleaf/joyetech will neither admit to a problem or warrant it
Didn't realize they were like that, outside of the eleaf melo coils I wrote them off back when I first started vaping. I was using their ego's and they had terrible build quality. that's actually why I got into mods though.

There is always a bad apple off the tree...time will tell how it goes reliability wise...I paid $30 dollars for a cloupor 30w mini that lasted me maybe just over a month..We hear about eleaf this and that with this and that issue but there is also the ones that havent had an issue...I suppose roll the dice and see what you get...the 510 on my sigelei mini is already worn out..some tanks i cant even get to tighten...I didnt expect that so soon but it is what it is...The chip will end up in a smaller box of sorts with a better 510 from varitube or fatdaddys.

I agree, bad apple in every bunch; everyone has a lemon slip through.....cant think of anymore fruit euphemism.
But anyway, I went through 3 joyetech ego's in 5 weeks.
That was enough for me. Not saying they suck, I'm just tough on gear

nice thread, with absolutely no proof to the claim, nor any evidence to show if the user did something stupid with it

My sigelei is getting pretty beat up but i was always careful with the 510 on it..it must be a soft steel to have worn like it has..kind of disappointed in it for that reason..other than that its been a great little box.

Sort of why i got the eleaf as a replacement..If it doesnt hold up im stuck with a mech box and tubes and my trusty MVP 20w.

Except he is a trusted member of the community and has no reason to lie. On the other hand, eleaf and their track record.... Plugging a device into a usb charger isn't considered "doing something stupid".

Left charging overnight is never a good thing. You would think the device has a cutoff and wouldn't overcharge but maybe not...

Unless the output is something other that USB spec.

Ive had the istick 30w just over a month. I do know to shut it off when plugging into usb or it get very warm.

I went into vapor pro last week and the fellow suggested a 40 w tc. I may be one of those people that just hasn't had any issues thus far.

Ohms seem to vary at times...have changed the coil once. Haven't quite figured out that one yet.

I lung hit with a kanger nano. I notice that the wide open airflow sometimes just feels not wide open enough.

At any rate...still undecided on the 40w tc version. Seems like not many people who have one have commented yet...

Decisions...decisions :)

I would be more inclined to believe eleaf/joyetech is sloppy with the usb.org specs, cheap shitty components, or both. If the charger were something other than usb spec, it probably wouldn't have a usb cable.

Me too...been waiting on some opinions. But I guess for the price the risk is really minimal. All us jaded vapers have been burned so much over the years, it's hard to keep throwing money away :/

I've had a 100w Istick for a couple weeks now. It definitely has a button rattle but the clicking action of the buttons feels solid. The box itself feels well built,, the 510 has been solid with multiple RTA's all sitting flush. The magnets on the battery door are super strong and the door itself does sit ever so slightly inset from where it meets the box(very slight). I also purchased an IPV Mini 2 around the same time. The paint on the IPV started coming off almost immediately, the Istick looks like the day I got it. Overall so far I would not hesitate to purchase another one, especially at the price.

I've had nothing but iSticks since I started vaping. 10w mini, 20w, TC40w, and 50w. No issues or explosions or fires or loss of life. So I'm going with the thought that any issues someone experiences is isolated until the company issues a recall or some sort of statement stating such issues. And I'll recommend them until such time.

Did you get yours from Efun.top? I'm seriously considering the 100w. I have the 20w, but the pin took a crap. I've had the 50w for about 9mos now and it's been very good to me. I know it's just a matter of time before the batteries go KaPutz so it's time. I know I need 100 watts like I need a hole in the head, but I like the idea of replaceable batts and the Isticks performance has treated me right. For $33 it feels right. What batts and charger should I get?

I would recommend samsung 25R batteries and and intellicarger brand either I2 or I4. liionwholesale.com has pretty goo dprices and great service for this stuff. but theres plenty of places to get it.

Thanks and sorry for all the questions. I just did a little more research and it I see it has pass through. Is it safe to vape while charging on this unit? If not, I'll probably end up with 4 batts and a charger.

Thank you so much for the review! Yes, I'm a firm believer in iSticks. I've had two 30w iSticks and a 50w since they came out with no problems so far, and they vape very very nicely. Yes, they had problems with some of the 50w units, but I personally feel the percentage that had issues was very low compared to the huge quantity produced and sold. It was still inexcusable, but I feel some of the other brands have had issues as well. After all the hard use I've given them, obviously the batteries are dying quicker, but I have certainly gotten my money's worth from them. And tbh, at the extremely low prices we pay for some of these mods $50 bucks or less, if we get 3-6 months from them before they die we really have gotten our money's worth.

I am going to get an iStick 100w, and I would like an Evic VTC Mini depending on the reviews and pricing when they come out. If the reviews are poor I will get a Sigelei 75w.

I work at a vape shop, and I've sold 2 100w isticks so far, along with two Sony VTC 4 batteries. (I know they don't need the 30A batteries but that's what we have right now) I didn't sell an extra charger to either person, and they have not been back with any complaints thus far. In fact, they've been back saying how happy they are with the devices. Only time will tell how good they really are; but I've played around with one a bit and I like the strong magnets and the quality of the device (apart from the plastic buttons, they should've worked more on that). In my book its a decent device as of right now.

As far as the 40w TC go? We really don't sell them at the shop, as we have a plethora of other devices that are both affordable and have higher wattage and better temperature control. So we don't even push them, despite having them. When it comes to a vaping device, the more options I have, the better. Options are worth money to me, as long as they work well. And the 40w TC is lacking.

I am no expert, but could have something other then the device caused that, such as a drink spilling on it while charging, ejuice leaking form the tank uinto the board, a bad cord, etc?

Anything is possible, but I think it's been pretty well establish at e-juice is non-conductive, and eleaf/joyetech has a shady track record. This is exactly what happened to many istick 50's. A few resulting in home fires.

In the picture, what is that whole mess of cables all over the place?

Eric
Exactly, I can't figure out what's what/ what he thinks he's showing us...

Not sure what you're looking at, but I see two cables, not a "whole mess". One cable connected to the device, and one laying there.

Not really sure why you're being so hostile; we're just trying to figure it out man. And honestly, the title of this thread alone implies that you know of all the issues of previous istick devices, so knowing that, I'm not sure why you would continue to buy devices from that company; at the very least waiting a while before you bought one of their newest devices, insuring that that was not happening. It's your own fault for buying from a company that is known for stuff like this.

I have two iStick 50w and knock on wood they have been good. I'm not in the market for another mod until these take a dump which hopefully is later rather than sooner.

He's showing you a istick 40TC that exploded while charging.

Not being hostile, sorry you took it that way. Just pointing out there are only two cables. One connected to the device, and one just laying there.

Yes, I am fairly familiar with the istick50 debacle, and the lack of customer support eleaf/joyetech demonstrated to both it's dealers and end users. However, they are providing excellent ammo for State & Federal regulation.

And, no, I won't buy any eleaf/joyetech products because of it. You must have assumed I own one of these, which I don't.

Just a question...
even if you didn't walk away while an atty was riding, would this be a quick incident or would there be a flag that popped up and give you time to react?

FWIW, I have used Passthru for close to a year now on two Innokin MVP 20W's on a almost daily basis with absolutely no Issues so I am confident that if it is implemented properly it is not dangerous tech at all.

thats because innokin is a company that thoroughly tests their batteries and such, I think its more of a eleaf issue.

the mod would get extremely hot possibly smoke or vent some. but when that happens theres nothing you can really do to stop it.

Just to clarify for some.

The buttons are metal and nothing sits flush to the mod..the 510 sticks up maybe 1mm above the top of the case itself so, they sit flush maybe to the 510 but not the box itself.

This is crazy stuff! Anyways...I got an istick 50w last month and im happy with it. The only issue ive had with it is a couple times ive pressed the firing button and nothing happened, but that was maybe 3 times in a month, and it fired right away next press. I personally paid $50CDN for mine and I was pretty annoyed to hear a week later that the 100w was available for the same price! The 100w is still $50CDN here in Toronto, but I see on American websites that theyre selling them for $33.95USD which is about $45CDN so no major price difference there. I just got the Royal Hunter RDA and 4 LG HD2 batteries and charger and other supplies but have not bought a new mod yet. I don't think i'll be getting the 100w istick, I might go with the ipv4s 120w, that looks pretty good and will take care of my needs. Any1 on here use the ipv4s? or royal hunter rda? Thoughts?
