Contemplating my next RTA purchase. I guess im looking for some feedback on the pros/cons of each. im also very interested in the chimney diameters of each as well...

I have the Goliath v1 which is out of production and the billow v2. How do you plan on using it? Mech mod or regulated? Kanthal or other wire? Cloud chasing or flavor?

Flavor first, clouds a very close second. Looking to put it on top of my Ipv 4. I also have a Kayfun 4, I like to run both Kanthal and TC builds, whatever im in the mood for. Have a goliath v1 that I was absolutely in love with until the resistance started jumping around crazily on me. thought it was a loose post or connection but I checked everything and nothing was loose. Got pissed at it and shelved it for the moment. I was looking to move on anyway, I pulled the trigger on the v! shortly before any talk of the v2 was released...

I have heard amazing things about all 3 of these tanks, was just wondering if any one of these pulled out in front of the pack and why. Also a 6mm chimney is a must...

Well I've found with all tanks (I have 12) that a huge chimney nearly always corresponds with reduced flavor. Even if only slightly. I've found that the billow 2 has by far the best flavor of any tank i own and the Goliath chucks the biggest clouds. Billow has a tighter draw and fills easier. Not sure on exact chimney measurements. The simplest way I can put it is that I use my billow 2 for about 20ml of juice per day and I only use the Goliath occasionally. Bigger build deck in the billow gives more options to suit your tastes. The Goliath 2 may be a whole different situation though.

i own the billow v2 and the chthulu

i bought the chthulu just i miessed a top fill option on my billow

the chthulu have reeealy small screws
the billow have a realy small atty deck

the billow looks much better

if 2-2,5mm coils are large enough for you
try the billow.

as i like 3,5mm dual coil setups both of them
satisfy me not as much as other rta's do

but if i need to chose from the both i would grab the billow

Nice price. Cthulhu isn't a bad option, and for basically half the price of the billow 2 I would say thats a deal.

Yes ill admit that im a cheap bastard. The only thing that scares me is GB, I have read that others have had some issues with them. Also the Billow v2 will also be had by me someday, when the price comes down lol.

Flavor is great and awesome clouds sleek design and juice flow is much easier just a 1/4 turn of the tank cuts it on n off , think I may grab another one. Deffinatly recommend it madvapes has it for $31.99

I have had the Goliath v2 for about a week I love it BUT the one issue I am having is every time I refill it with the juice control on or off and the airflow on or off the damn thing will leak like a civ for a second when I get it all patched up... Not really sure why. The vapor production is wonderful and the flavor is great, after it leaks it doesn't leak a smidge of anything until I refill again it's really weird and really annoying... Anyway still playing with it and maybe I'm doing something's wrong when refilling....I will report back if I figure anything out.

Edit, yasaboss have you had this issue with it? Wondering if I'm not putting the chimney where it needs to be as there is really no set way where you put it when you put the ring on top of it to patch it all back together....

i had the Goliath V2. i got it last Friday and just shipped it out yesterday. traded it for a billow v2. i wicked that sumbitch probably 10 times over the weekend. and i'd either get leaks or dry/burnt hits. even recoiled it 3 times. finally said fuck it and traded it for the other RTA that seems to be all the rage. hopefully i can figure it out.

in the meantime, i'm enjoying the heck out of my Goblin Mini. love that little tank. easy to build/wick. superb flavor and good vapor production. i thought the Goliath v2 was going to be similar, buildwise, but i couldn't figure it out. :(

I really like the Billow V2, liked it so much I bought a second 1. I've never had either 1 leak but if you stuff too much cotton down the channels you can end up with dry hits. My advice is too not build your coils bigger than 2.5mm or you will start chocking off airflow (at least I did). Works great in TC with 28ga Ni200 and also very good using Kanthal (I'm using twisted 32ga because I'm trying to use up my 32 lol).

okay, my take. I've had the goliath v1 and that tank was the greatest with temp control. Juice flow control is a plus. I have the billow v2 now and it's very good, but not goliath good to me. It's better with kanthal thou compared to the goliath. With the chthulu v2 coming with it's top fill and coil orientation, I think it'll be better than both with wattage or temp control.

I have all three and they're all very good tanks. The billow is the nicest. Its super well made and very sharp looking. Plus it vapes great. The Goliath is my favorite. It's also well made (not quite as nice as the Billow) and has some superior features over the Billow. Namely the juice control and better airflow.

The Chthulu provides excellent flavor with big clouds but it's a bit fiddly. That nut under the topcap just plain sucks. Terrible design. I also don't like either filling method. The bottom fill hole is too close to the chimney, so it will flood sometimes and the top seems to limit the volume.

Something else to consider is the build decks. The billow and Chthulu have four holes compared to the Goliath's two. IMHO, the four hole style decks are much easier to build on.

I think the Chthulu V2 might be the best RTA on the horizon.

holy shit, a velocity style deck on an RTA? Literally just the other day I said if a tank came out with a build deck like that I would buy 10 of them.

shiiiiiiiiiiiit and it's top fill. I'll wait on reviews but that sounds like it'll be well worth the 40 bucks.
Thank you.:)

Nah man I havnt had any issues at all, first build on it and didn't leak, I've had no leaking issues. Let the wick sit on the little shelf not in the bottom of the juice channels and she's good to go. Put a 6 wrap 24g 3mm in tonight and she's vaping fantastic. Key is the wicking once you get it right it won't leak a bit.

When you say refill it with the juice controll on or off are you refilling from the top cap? I've also refilled it by cutting off the Jc off and unscrewing the cap holding the glass at the bottom works too just be carefull

Also what's your of vg mix? I'm vaping my own 80vg mix no leaks or dry hits

cheers! i threw in a basic 26ga .5ohm dual coil kanthal (i dont have nickel wire yet) yesterday and really enjoying it. no wicking problems thus far. :) i'm going to order some nickel wire this week as i have not delved into temp control yet. i just got the ipv4s last week. quite the jump up from my previous istick 50w.

i tried a couple of different juices. most of my stuff is max vg, but i also tried a 60vg 40pg with no luck. i tried heavy cotton, and tried trimming and thinning it out too. i just couldn't get it dialed in. when i refilled i did it from the bottom of the tank as i saw in videos. i'm sure it was user error tho as the person i traded it to seems to be enjoying it. lol

So out of these tanks, which has the best airflow? I made the jump to RDA's last month with a mutation x4 and going back to my Subtank Mini is like sucking an egg through a garden hose. I have a Delta II and the airflow on that wide open is decent but I don't have the RBA for the Delta II (I think the tanks not super sexy anyway). I'd like better airflow than even the Delta II if anyone has used any of those tanks.

Goliath has the most open air flow.

Goliath v2 is significantly more open draw than the Billow 2. I like my Billow 2, but ... well, the Goliath v2 has much more open pull and wicks better than any tank I have ever seen.

On my build, 24ga/32ga clapton CP 1 Ti 5 wraps over 2mm mandrel, 0.10 ohms dual coil. I can pull 70 watts and no matter how long I pull on it, the wattage never drops below 65 as it regulates temp, meaning its wicking like MAD. This is in my Goliath 2.

The Billow 2 with a less intense build, 24 ga (non clapton, straight wire) CP 1 Ti 6 wraps around 2.5mm mandrel also .10 ohms, keeps up with 50 watts, but just barely. It is a fantastic tank, is easier to clean, build, and is slightly less finicky than the Goliath 2.

Found a new build I cannot recommend strongly enough in the Billow 2.

Use four strands of 32 gauge CP 1 Ti. Twist it in a drill so you have a very tightly twisted wire. Build using a 2mm mandrel, because of the springy nature of the wire it will end up close 2.4mm ID, it's just small enough that 2.5mm mandrel wont fit inside. Use 7 wraps and wick fairly tight through the coils. Center the coils and place them about 1/4 in over the air holes.

Pure heaven to vape. Nearly instant heat up time, TC functions very well because of the low overall wire mass, and the extra surface area from quad twisting does wonders for the amount of vapor given off. This is my new go to vape, hands down, my favorite coil setup to date. I found my Snow Wolf is just right at 250-280f setting anywhere from 35-45 watts.

Been loving the billow2 kind of a bitch to mount coils inside of the tiny chimney but once that parts sorted out its zero issues for me. The wicking is super easy also. Its the one rta I've had that has never given me a dry hit.
Im looking forward to the cthulhu v2 though, I really think that's gonna go down as the best rta of the year.

RE: Goliath V2

Can anyone comment on the prebuilt ceramic coils? Is there any reason to keep/use them? I use a high VG liquid (anywhere from 30/70 - 20/80) and the ceramic ROCC's just don't wick unless I saturate it when priming; are the ROCC's best suited for dripping?

And I've noticed that I have to snug the individual parts just right or else the juice control doesn't move, or doesn't move without resistance. Also disassembling it is somewhat of a pain due to the smooth finish.

I'm still working on the art of wicking it. Right now it's hitting really good, but sometimes I get a dry hit after a couple of pulls.

Can you compare it to the Delta II? I have a Delta II and its slightly more airy than my Subtank Mini. The Delta II is ALMOST acceptable. I have a Black Tesla 200w and I'm slightly OCD and am leaning towards the Billow 2 simply because its available in black. I would probably like the Goliath better though seeing as you say it's a looser draw. I could mask it up and paint it, but I'd rather not. Any suggestions?

I have not used a Delta 2 sadly. I will say the billow 2 is quite open. I have actually started closing my Goliath down a bit to improve flavor some. The billow 2 is growing on me more and more, it is a really nice vape.

I would recommend either one to people, just pick the one that excites you more, both are awesome with temp control or without.
