I got in my series mod today, I'm going to rewire from 20 awg to 14 awg. But I feel like something is off on the wiring.
Sorry about the bad sketch.

Well the hand written diagram is wrong, Realplayer1974 schematic is right. Not sure if that is the info you're looking for.

Also could the hand drawn wiring cause a massive voltage drop? Like 2.2v.

Would the messed up wiring cause a 2.2v drop with a 0.4ohm load

Yes. And cold solder joints.....
If it was cold solder joints wouldn't the drop without load be a little overboard as well. I was getting 0.3-0.4v drop without load. Until I broke the tabs off the cheap mosfet trying to rewire the correct way. They were bent 90° didn't like coming back straight out.

BTW, this is what I got, has a NXP PSMN0R9-25 fet installed with 15k resistor. Through holes for 14 gauge wire.
Got it from DIY FancyLights on eBay. Owner is a member of the forum talked to him and figured this would be best.

How did it come out?
Well first run. Failed horribly. My 510 was shorting because I couldn't get it apart to solder. Then I noticed I had on damn piece of stranded wire not go through the hole on the microfet further shorting and killing the microfet. Oh and I broke a tab on my button didn't realize I could use smaller diameter wire for both sides of switch, and 14 gauge isn't that flexible . Had a replacement, but that's when everything start auto firing/smoking/dying.
I now have a FDV v4 LP Shorty 510, two microfets, and a new monetary switch on the way. I'll be double checking everything this time and got two fets just in case

Looks good!!!
Thanks man. This is my first attempt. It's a little sloppy but it puts out. I'm getting about a volt lost with a 0.5ohm coil and 2v loss with 0.2ohm coil. Satisfactory I suppose. Given I built this just for competitions I'd like to see like a 1.5v loss at the 0.2ohm but I'll settle.
