I think they all do that. Mine does, just the up and down buttons, the fire button is pretty solid.

I figure for under $35 they're probably just slung together, but mine works well so far and I'm thrilled there's no internal battery. I had an iStick 50 die after two weeks of use...

Yup....iSticks suffer from button rattle. On my 30W, the power button rattles. On my 40WTC and 100W, the up and down buttons rattle but the power buttons are solid. I haven't had any operational with them and they work very well. Nothing to worry about regarding the rattle!

If some of my "higher end" mods were to exhibit this I wouldn't be happy. But they cost 3 times more than the iSticks.

What is the 100w like i keep looking at this should i or should i not? Also what is the size of it compared to the 50w?

If you are looking at the 100W then I would say to go ahead and buy it. Seriously....its a good 100W mod for a low, low, low price.

I don't have a 50W, but in comparison to the 40WTC, the 100W is slightly thicker, about 1.5 to 1.75 times as wide, and around an inch taller. It is a box mod that requires two 18650 batteries after all.

Silicone sleeve on my 30W silences the rattle.....but I haven't seen a real need for sleeves for the others....

The sleeve on the 100w will definitely help, like a girdle on a muffin top! It'll keep everything in place.

The rattle culprit is not the buttons but a plastic brace that slides vertically on a track behind the circuit board. You can affix the plastic piece in the device using electrical tape. However, this requires completely breaking down the mod as seen in the picture below. I also plastidipped the buttons for a better look, but removed it after reassembly.

I put a wrap on mine and the rattle stopped.

At first I used a silicone sleeve but it still had the vertical rattle problem whereby moving the device up and down made too much noise for me. Things like that bother me especially when it's such an easy fix that Eleaf should've caught. If the sleeve works for then it's a good thing because you can really do some damage taking the mod apart.

They all rattle, eleaf really dropped the ball here.

There is really no need to do a total breakdown like the photo above, in order to fix it.

You just need to remove the lower cover by unscrewing those 3 torx screws and place something in the space between the -+ buttons and the body sides.
I used 2 halves of a q-tip wrapped with some isolation tape, works perfect.

My take: iStick 100 is like a heavy, rattly, cheap Sig 100 with great door magnets and questionable 510 threads (that have forcibly raped the Arctic tank I top mine with) . Since the tech is a year old now and better manufacturers have long since moved on to bigger and better things, take it as it is - a dirt-cheap workhorse you can beat on and not get your feelings hurt if you drop it on concrete or spill paint on it. I've done both and it's still ticking...

Hey, the tank 510 connector is the male and the mod one is the female.
So it's more likely that your tank raped your mod and not the other way around;)
