Magic Valley Vapors Umod

This is a collaboration between a fellow vapor and I. He had an idea and build skills, I have some CAD skills and in our spare time this is what we created. The Umod is a highly customizable 3D printed modular enclosure and is designed to be the easiest mod you ever built. It's offered in 1x18650 and 2x18650 in DNA 20.25.30.40,(standard and TC chip panels) SX350 SX350J, DIY kits for your Raptor, PT08100 and OKL builds, and were just getting squonker kits going. If/when someone comes out with a new chip and it'll fit in the Umod, well make a panel for it. The Umod is designed to hold the FDV v3 510
The parts are interchangeable/replaceable. If you built a DNA 40 and your SXJ chip finally showed up, you don't have to buy a whole new mod kit, just get a SXJ chip panel to slip into your existing Umod.
Quick toolless battery changes and USB charger or not . Pick your buttons, make your own buttons, modify it, pick your color, mix and match colors, paint it, wrap it, paint and wrap it, texture it, cover it in Hello Kitty stickers, we're not here to judge, just offer you more build options then a new Escalade.

What kind of plastics are you using?

This is a nylon based plastic PA2200 which is pretty standard for 3D printing. It's referred to as Strong and flexible by Shapeways. It's a little flexible and stronger then one might think. If your in the oil industry, own an ISP or your mattress is getting lumpy you could even have one printed in 14K gold or platinum.

Ok, we had a little redesign of the Istick 20 thread repair cap. We have two models, FDV 15.5mm and Varitube 14mm. There now listed at SW for as little as $6 http://www.shapeways.com/shops/magicvalleyvapors?section=Istick20+thread+repair+print.&s=0

We're at it again, currently at MVV we're sorting out to details for a 26650 low deck mod enclosure

Crazy times here at Magic Valley Vapors.
Aside from the day job trying to suck the life out of my bones...
We had some print consistency issues with the Istick thread fix. Think we got that worked out with a slight redesign, we should have the prototype in by the end of the month. We've been working on a DNA40 26650 mod, hashing out the details for a SX350 a 18650 and dabbling with a DNA hybrid box/tube mod. Then Evolv pop's up with the DNA200 so we're trying to get some specs on that so we can make a panel for the Umod to accommodate that in 1x,2x,3x 18650.
Like I say, Being a mad scientist is not as easy as it looks on TV

Just to make things interesting lets throw another Umod evolution in the mix utilizing the existing panels.
Dual cell, easier to wire in series and less expensive parts as I see it so far.

Pretty sure the DNA 200 is best kept at 11.1 volt range although it's been speculated the 7.4 range may be possible.

Edit: Bad info 9 to 12.6 for the DNA 200.

I love this little thing for carrying in my pocket on the job site with a vivi nova on it. It's small, light and if it falls 40ft off the scaffolding, I won't be to upset. The threads stripped out on my Istick a couple months ago and this is what we came up with to fix it. It fits nicely, looks good and works great. Took me maybe 1/2 hour to install, screwed on a tank and I got my little buddy back.

We changed up what we are going to release next and it 's headed to the prototyping dept shortly.

For your next SXJ build we'll be offering the Bootlegger enclosure.

We're ready to go into testing with our latest design, The Bootlegger in SX350J.

The Bootlegger is a dual 18650 flask configuration with a quick change battery application incorporated. Open the battery doors, pour out your batteries, drop freshly charged batteries in, close the doors and you're ready to go.

Being nothing comes loose from the Bootlegger during battery changes once assembled there's far less chance of damaging or loosing parts of your mod.

The Bootlegger lends itself to either parallel or series wiring configuration easily and incorporates a spring loaded 510 connector for ease of use.

At this point this looks to be an entry level mod which it is intended to be, very easy to build and a complete parts list will be listed on Shapeways as soon as we have completed testing and narrowed down the parts options.

Edit: You beat me to the post again Jasen.
The Prototype is ordered and estimated shipping date is the 7th of July.

Okay, so the prototype jumped a few spaces in line. A few changes are being made, another prototype will be ordered, built and tested again.

Freshly updated Print file for the DNA 200 Bootlegger as of 8/26/2015, should be good to go. :)
The Bootlegger DNA200 is now listed on Scuplteo for about $10 less than Shapeways price. The second update to the print file was done through the night and it should be good to go. I'm still waiting for Shapeways to send my prototype and a Sculpteo customer got his before me.
Don't forget your 510 wrench. :)

Really interested in this mod. Has anyone ordered a metal print yet? If so, how did it come out and what must be done differently for construction vs the plastic ones? Is assembly self explanatory once it's in your hands or is there a thread somewhere detailing it?

We're not set up for a metal prints of the Bootlegger yet although it has been mentioned and can be done. We'll have to make it a mixed print, plastic for the battery contacts and the rest could be metal so the circuit can be isolated.
There was an issue with the buttons and the Bootlegger DNA 200 but that has been fixed and the print file is ready to go. This may not be geared to the newer mod builders.

Sorry we don't play the Lemming act with 3D prints hanging out of Hammond boxes for ballooned prices. Go play with the ECF clicks, stroke a little ego and maybe they'll let you play their pone and take your money.

Please let us know if you find any issues with any one of our prints, the print companies think they can get away with that kind of BS sometimes but they work for us we don't work for them.
