Trying to Like The Lemo II, Again

I love my old style Lemos. I purchased a LemoII a while back, due to the ease of filling. It leaked a bit, and it seemed I couldn't get a decent wick in it. They would all start giving dry hits after a few hours. The other day, I decided to try it again. I installed a new coil and wick. The first hour was good. I got confident, and started taking nice, long, deep hits. About number three, I got the dreaded dry hit. I thought I was gonna die. It was horrendous. Sometimes I can disassemble it, and push the cotton away from the juice holes, and it will give me a few more decent hits. Yesterday, I installed a new wick, and trimmed it kinda short so it wouldn't block the holes. Once again, I got a few hours of enjoyment, then the dry hits showed up again. What can I do to this thing so I can enjoy some decent vaping from it?

I've tried 80/20, 70/30, and currently trying a 50/50 mix with it.

I've had my lemo 2 for a few months now and don't get any dry hits. The only time I do is if I run it pretty low to change flavors and absentmindedly take another pull while doing something else. That being said I will say getting it properly wicked has definitely been a learning curve, now I've got it to the point where it wicks very well, but these last couple times it has mostly only been wicking from one side. My biggest issue with it has been leaking from the airflow holes, however after doing some digging I found people were plugging the drip tip with one finger before opening the fill hole and keeping it plugged until full and the fill hole was closed. Since I started doing this the leaking has been reduced significantly. I still get a bit of juice out of the airflow holes after 4-5 tanks but nowhere near as bad as before.

I need to re-wick mine so if I get a chance to do that after work I'll snap a couple pictures and post them here.

I have had a lemo 2 for a couple of weeks. I am no coil building and wicking guru either. I have never had dry hit or no leaking. I just build a 2.5 or 2.0 mm coil. Wick it a little tight. I cut the cotton where it just touches the deck, Cotton does not go into the juice channels. If I have not had any problems makes me wonder if somewhere in the manufacturing yours is a little different somehow. Mine works like a charm, and like I said I am no wicking expert.

you might want to try this option, if you want to use kanthal the ID of the screw wrap is apx 4mm and you want at least 6 wraps

Wicked nicely, a big air bubble or two will come up with every hit. If its wicked too tightly through the coil, the wicking action gets choked off, which you can tell if you hit a long inhale without firing and only a tiny bubble comes up. Wick length I use the lower part of the chimney and pull the wick ends up through bunny-ear style and cut off level with the chimney, tucking/priming before mounting the chimney top. Using two of these tanks here, both work great.

Having the same issue with my Lemo 2. It takes a while for a bubble to appear after I hit it. Wasn't an issue at first. I was trimming and grooming/fluffing the wick to sit on the deck, above the juice channels, but not blocking the channels... I think I'm going to try VaporCat's method, next.

ive found that with my lemo 2 works great! ......once I filed the chimney above the juice channels, wrapped a gigantic coil, use no higher than 60/40 juice, don't over tighten then tank, or take more than one hit per minute. it now lives in a drawer..... maybe ill try to like it again, but probably not

Funny, after my cthulu2 has been ruled an utter disgrace I resurrected my lemoII about an hour ago, I dremmeled some notches in the chimney to line up with the juice channels to help it wick better and am running 80/20 in it just fine, the flavor is better than the cthulu also.
Would love to see them put out a v3 same thing as a v2 but deeper channels and a better top fill

A little channel down the edge of the atomizing chamber has served me well.

Last night I experimented with a vertical coil configuration and tried two different wicking methods, one of which involved wrapping cotton around the coil, but that didn't work too well. I removed the wick, installed the can...base of the chimney...whatever the thing is called around the coil deck... and stuffed and tucked fluffy cotton around the coil assembly, and I opened up the sides so that I could see the juice channels, at the bottom, and tucked the wick ever so slightly onto the deck, above the juice channels; I made sure the juice channels were visible from the top, with no cotton in them. I sucked down an entire tank laying in bed and I only got one dry hit because I sucked it dry lol It actually works pretty good although I'm going to try less cotton and drop the resistance next time. I'm vaping it at 20 W.

3mm, same size as hole beneath the coil, 26 Ga kanthal at 1.1 ohms - I definitely want subohm, next time.

The first wicking attempt... I know. It looks shoddy and stupid...

I think I might give up on my LemoII. I ordered another Kanger Sub mini to try again. The glass broke on my LemoII, so it's probably a good time to forget about it.

You could probably sell it or trade it, you know? The Lemo is a nice tank, especially for mouth to lung, but I personally like straight to lung hits and would give up the Lemo in a minute for something with more air flow.
