I normally use Maxim organic cotton for all of my super sub ohm builds and I decided to try the sterile cotton that comes on the huge ass roll from CVS. the taste is much better and there's zero break in time, but I'm noticing that my vapor production is a little lacking. I'm using my same 22g coil setup as usual. Has anyone experienced this with sterile cotton?

This is just a note for those that think organic cotton is something special. Organic refers to the processing not the growing. there is absolutly Zero benefit to vapers o use it. just regular cotton is fine, There is no need to seek out the organic stuff and paymore to boot. Just go to the dollar store and get some cotton balls. Another alternative would be to use, Paches and crean white 100% cotton yarn from Wal-mart this stuff works great.

I use the sterile cotton balls from CVS and i get pretty big clouds in my kayfun (much more than I thought to be honest)

It is better to do some fact check before spreading misinformation.

Read: "Organic cotton is generally understood as cotton and is grown in subtropical countries such as Turkey, China, USA from non genetically modified plants, that is to be grown without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers or pesticides.[1] Its production also promotes and enhances biodiversity and biological cycles.[2] In the United States cotton plantations must also meet the requirements enforced by the National Organic Program (NOP), from the USDA, in order to be considered organic. This institution determines the allowed practices for pest control, growing, fertilizing, and handling of organic crops"

"Production requirements are specifically the set of changes that must be made to field and farming practices in order for a crop to be considered organic. To begin with, organic fields must go through a cleansing period of three years, without the use of any prohibited substances, before planting the first organic crop. Fields must also be equipped with physical barriers and buzzers in order to prevent contact of organic crops with any chemical substance product of surface runoff from crops nearby. Producers must also strive to promote soil fertility through cultivation practices while maintaining or improving the physical, chemical, and biological condition of the soil and minimizes soil erosion."

"Since organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, it should contain fewer pesticides than conventional cotton."

This entire post in incorrect. Not sure why you would even say that. Not to mention for a large bag, the difference is like $2.50 to $3.25. Buying organic is a nobrainer.

I like the stuff that comes out of aspirin bottles. I am liking Cellucotton. I keep my drippers wet, & my tanks full. I still use regular cotton but less on some attys, more on others. Use SS with silica core for Genisus builds. Only have 2. RSST & Another nice one. They don't perform like I like. I have a bag of Kroger cotton balls that will last me for years. a buck or two.

Organic Cotton = Awesomeness!!! / Regular Cotton = "Well if you like vaping bleach, more power to ya. If you get sick, ya get sick"
This is not the first time people have been against organic cotton. Seriously the price of a giant bag is less than a buck between the regular type.

I know what I like. All of them are good. Silica, Cotton, Stainless Steel, Cellu Cotton, Knitting yarn, what ever floats your boat.

Oh no no. I wasn't saying cotton is the only choice for wicking. There are a many other viable options. I'm simply saying based on a previous post where they were saying that getting organic cotton is stupid, that if you're using cotton it makes absolutely no sense to not buy organic.

I am sure. There is some bubble head in a basement some where dreaming up a wicking material to blow what we have away. Your alright, I pay attention to you. We have a common goal. I will not mis lead anyone either. My goal is to make any contribution I can to help people advance to a better life. I am pretty sure yours is too. I never try to second guess others. It's just my feel on the issue.

We act on the best information we have within our grasp. Some maybe incorrect. It is our job to correct it. Watts, Ohms, Voltage, is a personal choice. It's the most fulfilling hobby I have to this date that there is almost zero chance of injury.

I can tell a huge taste difference between organic and non organic cotton. Organic FTW!

It was popular for a little bit, but I still use cotton yarn (organic and not, I just boil it). It's always the perfect size for a 5/64th coil and I think it wicks perfectly. The taste is a little different at first, but after a few drips, I think, it tastes better than cotton balls

The yarn I use looks like it's braided a little differently, but I'm sure this one would work very similar

I use the sterile surgical cotton baton from the drug store. I figure if it's good enough to get packed inside your body for surgery then it should be good to go. Been using this for about 2 years.

Bump for Rayon! If you're looking for a new wicking material, I'd be more than happy to hook people up with Rayon for the cost of shipping.

Sent from the Otter Box around my Galaxy S4.

Cellu cotton or (rayon) has a much cleaner taste imo. And no break in time. It also has much better wicking properties. That is not my opinion but an actual fact. I like tasting just my e liquid and nothing else. I don't like sucking on tits through a sweater.

No kidding. I bought a bag of organic cotton balls 2 years ago and have only used 15 of them.

It's a lot. I'd buy some to treat myself but other than that it's too much. Could buy a battery with that : )

8 USD a foot.
I know it seems like a lot, but there is a lot that goes into that to make it that price. I honestly thought the same as well until I tried it. The stuff wicks great and its absolutely resilient. Its perfect if you like switching out liquids or use tanks and don't feel like taking apart. Plus remember you can easily get a month or more out of a setup and that includes dryburning the crap out of it. I tried KOGA and while it is better than organic cotton, RXW is definitely worth a try. Even if it's a 1 time $8 splurge. Heck it's still less than a pack of smokes :p

I'm hooked on rayon. Cellu Cotton, whatever they call it this week. But always up to try a better way. Where can I get this new marvel of wicking?

Well if it can handle all that then $8 should be a year's worth

So can you swap flavors without the residual leftovers of the old flavor?? Or do you need to rinse it or something to swap flavors? Just trying to understand what you were getting at there with the flavor swapping.

No, none at all. The rayon just makes everything taste more pure, so I find flavors are less muted. I tried using cotton in my reo last week instead of rayon, and the difference was amazing - cotton totally mutes the taste to me compared with rayon. I tried readywick, but honestly to me it was meh. I found it difficult to thread through my coil, and mine kept disintegrating (bought it from the right place too). At that price I'll stick to rayon!

If that offer is still good VJ, I'd love to take you up on it and try some of the Rayon. I've been a die hard Ekowool user but just ordered some Cotton Labo Organic Cotton the other day but it's coming from Japan so it will be a while. Happy to pay shipping to try a little bit. Thanks.
