So if I have a .3 ohm build on a fresh battery, using aw IMR 18650 20 a batteries, this means that the amperage taking off is 14, which is safe because it's below the 20a of the battery, right?

Seems like the lowest you can go on these batteries is .2 than, pulling 17.5a, going to .1 is 35a which is way over the 20 allowed.

I really don't see the need or point to go lower than .3-.2

I love my 0.2 ohm to 0.14 ohm builds with a passion. I use parallel mechs mostly though. My absolute limit for single cell is 0.16 ohms, and I use LG HB6, 30A 1500mAh. Those batteries are amazing. @Mooch regards them as the only "true" 30A cell, according to his testing criteria that holds cell temp in great importance as well as the other usual factors.

I do agree though, don't go lower unless you have to. I got used to 0.2, thinking that would be enough but my first 0.16 build (always with HB6) I found made better use of the battery for me, I actually got more useful Vape time as it was a satisfying Vape all the way down to about 3.3V.

Good to see people double checking themselves, their builds and their batteries. If I had a battery question, this and my favorite google+ UK vaping community are the first places I ask. Vaping Underground rocks. Why didn't I find this place sooner? Lol!
