Ok, theres other threads about posting builds and then threads about advanced coils. But what about the transition?? I do builds almost everyday, some advanced and some regular. Some of my advanced builds are good, but not post-worthy, but id like to show them and get tips on how to make them better. Then I have some easy coils that are just so dang perfect looking, id like to post them. So I wanted a thread for the amateur coils, where you can post anything, even the mistakes. You can post new ideas, crazy builds, or ones that didnt make it. This is for people on their way to stapled helix, alien wire, stapled claptons, or where im at, the clapton/fused clapton stage(theyre still not pretty). So Ill start after this post and I hope Im not the only one that wanted a thread like this :)

Im with you breezy, I can do helix, claton, and fused claptons no problem. I failed on an alien build and failed on two attempts on stapled claptons. When I have some time to devote to it I will try some others, ive got all the wire I need including ribbon. I cant recommend ball bearing fishing swivels enough. They make doing fused claptons ridiculously easy, just make sure they are ball bearing swivels and NOT the regular barrel swivels. Barrel swivels might work to get one strand done but they always fail even if you hook up 4 or 5 together. I tried two different kinds of barrel swivels at first until I could find ball bearing ones and they were just horrible. Paper clips also work great to help hold together framed coils. Of course you will tape up the ends but adding paper clips in a couple places on the coils can help to hold them in place so they dont get all weird.

How do you use a swivel to make claptons? I recently got so irritated trying to make claptons, my wire got all tangled, i just chuck it across the room lol

In the second video he doesnt talk much about them but you can see how he uses them. You can do your basic or fused claptons like this. Its just stupidly easy compared to not using them. Sometimes I wonder if getting my fused claptons so tight is actually hurting flavor.

Youtube is an amaing place for tutorials. Twisted messes, the art of vaping, local vape, and pristine builds are good channels. Those guys, ohmboy oc, kent hill, squidoode, and m.terk are some of the best builders on youtube. Instagram has incredible builders as well but they dont all make tutorials.

Wow, that literally changed my mind on how to build!

Here's a couple of pics of something I tried today. I'm pretty sure it's a staggered fused Clapton - looked it up on Google. Not great, but I'm learning.

I used two Claptons - each one is 26g Ni80 wrapped with 36g Ni80, then wrapped those in 32g Ni80.
