I've been smoking about a pack a day for almost 30 years (Damn, now I feel old....). About 2 years ago, I started having TIA's due to a blood clot in an artery in my brain. They were able to clear it out, but told me that I had a stroke at some point and if I didn't quit smoking I would have another, and I probably wouldn't make it through a second one. So I quit smoking for about 6 months with the patches, but I started back up again. A while back I started seeing everyone with these e-cigs and thought it was a just a fad until I had some friends that haven't had a smoke for about a year or so now, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I go back and forth between smoking and vaping, but really want to stop the smoking.
When I made the switch, the guy that got me into it told me it was perfectly natural while making the transition to go back and forth between the analogs and the cigalikes I started with.
At first, I just had to have one (or two or three) first thing in the morning, and at different times during the day and before bed of course.
But I kept the thought in my mind that I wanted to quite the damn things!
Over the course of two weeks, I was more satisfied with vaping than smoking and I just got to the point where I did not want the stinkies anymore.
Take you time dude and with just a tad of willpower and a high enough nic level at first (I recommend 24mg of nic to start as nic is absorbed into you body at a lower level when vaping than smoking) and you will be tobacco free in no time!
And drink plenty of fluids!
Sadly, beer does not count as a fluid. Water does so drink a lot of it.
A few extra trips to the bathroom is well worth it!
