first timer questions

What is a good straw nana recipe? Also when I have seen recipes that intrigue me I will see fa, or tfa ect.. what do these stand for? I know that they are flavor brands but it seems like there are so many concentrates out there that I don't dare act on assupmtion.

Thanks!

On the main page of VU, scroll down to the sub forums for DIY-Liquid. Lots of information to be found there.

the letters are abbreviations of brand names
FA=flavour art
tfa=the flavor apprentice
cap=capellas
FW=flavorwest
INW-Inawera

theres a few others

check the recipe section here for strawberry bananna

now
you are probably going to have to experiment
what one person say sis good is not as good to someone else

MANY MANY people on this forum agree FA has the most realistic fruit flavors

If you go with FA be sure to look up HICs notes on FA flavors HIC(Head In Clouds) is our flavour art expert.

he has a website with recipes for sale cuz he is that damn good.
http://www.hicsmixes.com/
you can downlood all his notes in pdf form from there for FREE

I found strawberry goes really well or falls flat in wimper.
Nana ok not a flavor I go near, one to many of those old yellow twin pops wore me out of fake banana flavoring.

Don't waste your money on Capella flavorings. Even at 100% flavor mix, you can barely tell what flavor it is. Garbage.

Some cap is not bad.
there is a place for it to round out a complex mix.

I agree. I use CAP in some mixes. It's just a tad here or there, I've never made a straight CAP mix. I have several of their flavors.

Caps seems to need extended steeping for the custards and creams in particular but overall the majority of my flavors are FlavourArt, but I absolutely do love mixing with Caps Vanilla Custard v1..custard junky fo sho

I just happen to be a big fan of Strawberry banana and today I made my very first bottle of DIY juice.

I purchased a Strawberry Banana mix (Flavor West Brand) from Bull City Vapor, ordered some VG and PG along with 100VG 48MG nic from Myfreedomsmokes. I mixed a test bottle 70/30, 5mg nic, 17% flavor with no steep time and I dropped some in a RDA and so far I am very pleased. I think it I could tweak it a bit, but for my very first bottle, I am very satisfied.

I used a 10ML bottle, but only made 9ml so I a little shake room.

Thank you much for the help! I found a straw nana recipe from a guy call fizz mustard that calls for:

.5% LA banana cream
3% tfa dragon fruit
7% tfa strawberry
1 drop citric acid

I'm going to give this a run when I get my order and see how it goes..

Update when you get the chance. I'd like to know your thoughts and percentages used. I'm thinking the Strawberry is too high. But maybe the Dragon fruit and Banana can tone it down.

I mixed this last night, so I really can't be certain. My guess is that the banana and cream were pretty strong smelling, so more strawberry is needed to stand up to them. I didn't have LA banana cream so I used FA banana cream. Once finished the strawberry didn't seem over powering. I will let you know more when I give it a run.

Also I made a mistake on the original post of this recipe. I put 1 drop of citric acid, but its supposed to be: 1 drop citric acid per ML used. I chose to use malic acid rather than citric, it wasn't an experienced choice, I just read that malic is more preferable.

Malic acid is appropriate for non-citrus fruits, actually. Many mixers claim it makes them (ahem) "pop."

As fruity vapes are not a personal favorite, I can only reiterate what others claim.

Have fun with it! And on reddit.

You're doing it wrong. Try like 5-8%.

It was a crack to show how weak their flavorings are. I've tried from 3% to 20%. Not my cup of tea. There are much better flavorings on the market to waste time and money on Capella flavors.

Well, this certainly explains why Unicorn Milk is so popular. :rolleyes:
