Need some help please throat gets irritated

hey guys,

I am pretty new to vaping and just can't figure out why my throat gets so irritated when I bought my first sub ohm tank...

currently I am using an eleaf tc40, an aspire triton tank with a 0.4 coil. prior to the tank I was using naut mini. I really wanted to try sub ohming to make clouds but no matter what watt I put it too it hurts my throat. I even went as low as 18w where the recommended for the .4 coil is 25-35w.

current juice I'm using are all premium juices usually with 60-70 vg and 8-12 mg nic.

any help or ideas as to why it irritates my throat so much makings want to stop vaping all together.

thanks for reading

Most people cut their nic in juice by half or more when they move to sub ohm tanks. The better the delivery device the more juice consumed and the more nic ingested. Where you were adjusted with the tank before the sub tank now you're getting twice as much juice, hence the irritation from the nic level. You can buy the same juice in a zero nic and mix it equally with what you have to cut the nic level in half.

Good luck.

Lower ohms generally means more vapor.

Nicotine throat hit will be stronger, and can even cause an overdose.
PG causes throat hit as well, could try getting higher VG juice.
Also takes time to get used to the increase in vapor itself.

thanks for the info... going to try the 3mg nic with higher vg and see how it helps

I had the same problem. Went from a kanger genitank with a hand me down innokin 20w with 18mg nic. Upgraded to sigelei 150w TC with an Arctic tank using the same juice... Needless to say it tore me up. 3-6mgs work the best for me so far.

Also if you don't already you should do straight lung hits. I was a mouth to lung vaper before sub ohming. Took me a bit to get used to inhaling directly now I can't imagine any other way.

I also encountered this problem. I started out on 12mg. But the throat hit was beyond my scope. Now vaping with 6-9mg,It seems perfect for me. Good luck to you!

Go with a 10/90 mix of pg/vg and lower your nicotine. I'd recommend 3-6mg if possible.

I'm having the same problem except I'm extremly new I'm using itazte clk 1280 with 20pg 80vg 8mg nic. Was a pk n half- 2 pk a day Newport smoker. I'm also getting a lot of burnt taste with big hits.

I been vaping for around a month and i had the same issue at first, i was using the the crown tank and i had some high pg juice 80/20 16mg for a week i had difficolties to even drink water :) then i changed the juice to 70/30 vg/pg 6mg nic then my throat was better and fixed but my tongue was irritating like burning for another week as well, but after the first two weeks now i just cant put this thing down always vaping like there is no tomorrow lol and i'm not having anymore problems,
I think its only the first few days or weeks....
Hope this helps

Try vaping like 6mg or 12mg, more surface area per coil, more vapor=makes it seem like the nic is skyrocketing.

I ended up getting an eleaf ijust2 and I love it. I'm on 3 nic. My only complaint now is I'm going through a crap load of ejuive
Cigs were cheaper. I'm paying 8$ a ,10ml bttle and going through at least 2 a day and that the store brand price. My only complaint now is way expensive.

You should order your liquid online in a larger quantity! You can get a 120ml bottle of eliquid in a large variety off flavors for about $15 + s/h from mechsauce.com or for a little more $ drcrimmys.com.

Also when you start Sub-Ohming make sure to drink more fluids I still have to remind myself of this after more than 2 years

Maybe you're having an allergic reaction, it could be the PG or the wick. I have been vaping for about 2 years, last winter I came down with bronchitis and couldn't hardly inhale vapor. Coughing for days,

This is one of the reasons why I sub-ohm occasionally, but still use a Nautilus with higher nic juice at 12 watts as my all day carry around.....no way I am going to have it cost more in juice daily than I paid for cigs...besides, I'm not much for cloud chasing and still prefer the mouth to lung draw and throat hit that emulates the act of smoking....

I have that problem when the nicotine level is too high in my juices. 6mg is the highest I can go with nicotine, but I get a lot of really harsh throat hits. I recently went down to 3mg, and I don't have that problem anymore.

Def lower nic to 3mg, also i had a similar issue and now use a 90/10 vg/pg mix and it completely stopped the throat soreness. good luck!
