I have visited those sites, and I recognize your name. I've made one or two of "Arnie's..." something coconut, and something melon. They were pretty good.

Question. How many of these recipes have you personally tried? Im assuming that you have tried all of the ones that bear your name... :)

I use these sites as a workspace, I have tried quite a few, but there's a bunch I haven't tried yet because I haven't had the time yet. My newer recipes should generally be considered "works in progress" and "geared towards my own tastes". For me creation/conception comes first, then testing, then refining, and more refining. Berry Coconut Milk is very good (excellent) BTW. My testing/refinement process lags considerably behind my recipe creation though (in other words, I'm creating them faster than I can steep and taste test them). Creating is actually more fun for me than the rest of it. But I still love DIY.

Hi do you have a recipe close to boosted ejuice

I don't know what boosted ejuice is or tastes like. I stopped buying most commercial juice a long time ago.

Just read this. You're adding recipes before testing them?

But of course RocketPuppy. I use the recipe websites as workspaces. First I create the recipe in my head, then taste test, then refine. Others work in the opposite fashion, but I've always done it this way. Works for me. Some might think me irresponsible, but I've always shared my learning process. I've frankly been shocked by those I haven't had a chance to try, that other folks say is great. Remember though, the only person you must please is yourself. So most of what I make I like. And that is the most important thing with DIY. That and a willingness to help others.

Sad to hear that. More and more people are retreating from posting recipes. You must be a local NC vaper. See you are part of GVSCS. Good luck to future diy.

Not sad really, eventually you run out of ideas, and I'm very far behind in terms of testing and refining all the ones I do have. Yes, I am in NC.

In terms of folks retreating from posting recipes, you sorta got at least two groups, the secretive crowd who believe recipes should only be shared in private or in secret groups on Facebook and elsewhere. These folks feel an intense sense of being wronged if someone steals their recipe, claims it as their own, shares it with the public, or sells it.

Then you have folks like myself. who believe all aspects of DIY and of vaping should/ought to be shared with as many folks as possible, cuz its about quitting smoking for me and many others. I don't get butthurt if someone takes advantage of my efforts and my work or makes a million bucks selling my recipes. In fact, I would be very angry if you DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE of my labor and the time I have put in, because that why I did it. To help others.

The number of public recipes on E-liquid Recipes (ELR) has tripled in a very short time to well over 6,000, now they have forums as well. So I think those people who were part of the secretive crowd are becoming more so (confirmation bias perhaps), and those who believe in open info sharing are sharing even more.

If a person feels they have been wronged there are at least two ways they can react, they can turtle up and clench their butt cheeks even further and say, that's it, I'm not sharing anymore or only to certain people, or they can say, you know what, I'm not gonna let the actions of a few people distract me from doing what I want to do or what I believe in. The good I've done outweighs the bad things folks do.

So please, if my recipes are not shared everywhere, I shall be very disappointed. If you like them, please share them.

Just wanted to let you know Arnie
I appreciate all that you have to offer. I've tried many of you and your sites recipes and I refine the recipes for my own tastes if needed.
What you post are inspirations that without - DIY could get too complicated to those who need a place or an inspiration for a recipe.
You start the idea and we all pick it up from there.
Thank You, and hopefully you'll be back around with new recipes.

Arnie!
I just want to tell You that I really appreciate your attitude - It's really first class!
I've copied, used and modified many of your recipes! There are some real gems there!
I've never taken credit for one of your recipes as my own and if I store one of them on E-liquid Recipes, I list them as private!
Thanks for what You do and your "stand up" attitude!

I'm confused. So you just rock out a recipe and post it without developing it with no testing/sampling?
If making a recipe is that easy, I have been doing it wrong all along.
Here's a new one, I have not tried it as of yet since I have just created it.

Enjoy this great recipe!!!

Italian Lemon Cream Cake
FA Meringue 0.75%
FA Madagascar Flavor (Vanilla Classic) 1%
FA Sweet Cream 0.50%
FA Fresh Cream 0.50%
FA Catalan Cream 1%
FA Vienna Cream 0.75%
FA Marshmallow 0.25%
FA Lemon Sicily 1%
FA Custard 1%
Capella Vanilla Cupcake 3%

Different folks do it differently. Some fully perfect a recipe (to their liking) before posting it. But I believe in sharing the development process. After research on the ingredients and percentages I will use, I create the recipe, then I begin testing and refining till I am satisfied with the results. My experience has generally been good working this way, and I am often very pleased and sometimes startled by the outcome. I can sort of see it in my mind, and use my experience working with different flavors to get a good idea on where to start. Its difficult to describe. BTW, thanks for sharing. Some folks will not approve of posting recipes that are a work in progress. But all my recipes are free and I will never charge. Its free. Like them or not. Criticism does not bother me. At least some folks have been helped or like some of my recipes, so that is all that matters to me.

Fair enough, thanks for the reply.
So when you post your recipes, do you include a note that describes what you just mentioned here?
When you research your percentages, what does this mean and how do you go about doing this?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I do not note which ones are a work in progress, because even the ones I think I have perfected, I am often perfecting further. In other words, EVERYTHING is a work in progress. Bear in mind also, that what I think is good, someone else might hate. So "my perfected" recipe, or anyone elses "perfected recipe" for that matter, really only means anything to the person who created it. DIY is a very personal thing and taste is very subjective. Going into 205 recipes to add a note about "perfection" or "WIP", on at least 2 websites is not something that I have time nor inclination to do. On ecigvape text fields are very limited.

When I am thinking of a recipe, I consider what flavors might work well together. If it has been inspired by a food or beverage or dessert or candy, I look up the recipes and or ingredients for that particular food/beverage/dessert/candy. I will review the percentages I've used in the past and I will look at data on average and recommended percentages. Sometimes I will use a base flavor at a greater percentage. For example: My Almond Joy recipe uses CAP Chocolate Coconut Almond as a base, I will then add smaller amounts of seperate Chocolate, Coconut, and Almond. I know from experience that most nut flavors will easily overwhelm a mix. I also know that chocolates and cocoa tend to require larger percentages. Etc, etc.

Kritikalmass has been a big flop for me. It seems like every time I find a recipe id like to make, they dont say where the flavors come from (fa, tfa, fw, ooo, whatever) Hopefully that gets better, but there are alot of old improperly labeled recipes floating around over there.

Hey Arnie, after the first month of mixing, I found that EM dulled the flavors, especially using it at the percentages you're suggesting, and almost all of your posted recipes contain it. Quite a few have many sweet flavors but still use EM.

I also noticed that it seems like the recipes all try to hit 20% flavoring, whether it needs it or not.

I have to ask. Is there a reason for adding EM, even with such sweet flavors, and why does every recipe contain 20% or close to 20%?

Arnie I wanted to let you know that I still continue to mix your Glazed Bavarian Cream Donut. Excellent recipe. The only difference in how I make it is I took the sweetener down one percent.
Thanks for a good one there.
