Looking for my first real setup

Hi, im looking to purchase my first real mod. Im currently trying to stop smoking or look for a substitution(4 years). im trying to have options ive done a little bit of homework and have seen options for sub ohm vaping, and thing like the portrayal of metals in the vapor. I do know that the levels are really much to worry about but i am looking to have the best bang for my buck. I want somethign that can possibly go sub ohm but i dont have to start there and can just buy a new tank for it. Im also looking for something that has high quality coils possibly or a all in one set maybe? All and all my spending limit is around 100$ can anyone help me out? Deals or good ones to purchase right now? Many thanks

Do you want something for mouth to lung vaping or direct lung hits? Most smokers start by vaping how they smoked which is usually mouth to lung hits.

Eleaf iJust 2. From fasttech it cost only $26.48 and vape quality is really great.
We tried it for some 2 weeks. Clouds were huge, battery life is okey, simple construction and affordable price for starter kit.

Here You can read more deeper review - http://ecigclopedia.com/eleaf-ijust-2-starter-kit-review/

So, it's around 25 USD + purchase 5 extra coils for less than 10 USD (they should last 4-6 months) and You will still have 65 USD to spend on E-Liquids, covers etc.

Welcome to VU. You might consider the Joyetech Evic VTC Mini. You can get the kit with the Ego One Mega tank(works okay in TC) and get a Nautilus Mini tank with the 1.8 coil for mouth to lung vaping. The kit is less than $50.00 on most online retailers, so if you want a better tank, you might try the Uwell Crown or Sense Herakles. Both are selling for around $20.00, so you can have a great setup well under your budget.

You will need batteries and maybe a charger also. The battery forum has a ton of great info on battery safety, as does youtube.

I agree that the Evic VTC Mini is a great way to go, it does temperature control for stainless steel coils as well so combining it with the Crown tank is the way to go. I love my Crown, Stainless steel coils rock!!! Great clouds and flavor is awesome.

Welcome to VU.

I will also agree with the VTC mini, great mod for the price. A pair of Samsung 25r batts and a smart charger.

I agree with the vtc mini and the 25r are great batteries, definitely get 2 or three batteries to start so that you can rotate. For a tank im gonna be odd man out and suggest the aspire triton,it has the ability to run a 1.8ohm coil for mouth to lung vaping, similar to what you do with a cigarette; but, you cam switch to the 0.4 ohm coil and use the same setup for subohm vaping. It's a cool tank that can adjust to whatever vape style you find best for you. Also the coils are carried by almost any shop so they are readily available.

Lots of good advice in here so far...

There are plenty of mods that will get the job done in the $40ish range, I'll let others wax poetic about their favorites there - dropping $20 on a good charger (Nitecore Intellicharger or Digicharger series, Efest LUC series, or Xtar) and another $20 or so on a few good batteries (Samsung 25r, LG HE2, HE4, HG2) is a no-brainer. The tank - there are a lot of options, I'm inclined to agree with @f1r3b1rd on that Aspire, not because I've used it but because if they offer stock coils up to 1.8 ohm and airflow adjustable all the way from mouth-to-lung (cigarette draw style) to at least a semi-decent direct-lung (more wide open, with bigger clouds), it'll give you a platform to both start successfully on and advance with for quite a while, at least until you've done some research and decided on your own what you like.

As far as the "harshness" you're worried about, that comes more from high-PG liquids, cheap flavorings, and too-high nicotine. With any sub-ohm tank, you're probably going to want to start with 6 mg nic or less and PG/VG ratios of 35/65 or more (I use the P-before-V-in-the-alphabet method, but people play fast and loose with deciding whether to put the PG or VG first in their PG/VG ratios these days) and you shouldn't have to worry too much about the throat burn...

id say just start up with a eleaf 50 watt and stick with a kanger tech tank as both of those are easy to use and have alot of safety things that stop you from doing something done and blowing up your mod.

Except for all those iStick 50s that either just died or caught fire...I can't recommend them after the "bad batch" incident, and there are plenty of other cheap mid-powered mods out there nowadays.

i guess i must have gotten the good batch because mine is still working tho i did switch over to the sig 150 watt because i needed more power for my rda

Mine didn't blow up but it had problems from day one with the fire button only working about 80% of the time...

I recommend the Joye eVic-VTC mini with an Aspire Triton 2 tank and Clapton .05ohm coils for starting. Good way to get your foot in the door, easy set up, nice vapor production. Just plug in to charge the battery which is sold separately(you can buy a Sony, Samsung ect 18650 battery for less than $10). Triton 2 tank is easy to take apart and clean, just make sure to change the coils like every 5-7 days depending on how much you vape. As for chargers (remember you don't need one but if you wanna keep an extra battery or 2 charged with you get one). I went with the eFest Soda 2 battery charger ($12) which actually works great for me.

Hi and welcome to VU
I believe in buying once and be done..investing in one mod you can grow with saves money down the road... That said I'd take a look at the Wismec RX200.. 1.5 w to 200w available will handle just about anything you want to vape, like the Crown...under $40...
