Evening everyone!, just concerned about my safety and what I should and shouldn't do. I just started vaping and have a rookie, maybe stupid question that I would like some input on. I'll just list the stuff I got and maybe get some advice on what I should use together to be in the safe zone. Or maybe what I should add to this as well. I have:
2-Panasonic 18650 3400mah batteries, 2-mxjo 18650 3000mah batteries, 2-mxjo 18650 2500mah batteries, an abs unregulated box mod (clear cheap one), a Hexohm v2.1, a aspire subohm battery (the one that has built in battery non removable), aspire Atlantis 2 tank with .5ohm coil, atty tobh v2 with also a .5ohm build, and a Smok tfv4 tank with a .15ohm coil (tfq4) and Smok tank also came with tf-r1 rebuildable coil and a tf-t3. Please help. Thanks!

With your abs box mod, you should be safe with your .15 coil for the TFV4 if you purchase some good batteries. As your mod is parallel, anything with a current discharge of 15A should be okay. People always recommend samsung/sony/LG. You'll be vaping roughly 100watts with this set up.

so what about the panasonics? Will those be safe to run on my abs with .15coil on the tfv4?

I googled the panasonics and the maximum discharge is only 5A. You can use those with a .8 ohm which will give you unsatisfactory vapor.

Edit: I dont think the tfv4 comes with stock .8s so youll have to build which is a whole new story lol

Much easier to just get new batteries for like $10

Thanks jman! Last question for you....will my mxjo bats work for tfv4 .15coil set up on this abs mod? Safe? Or just go get some lgs, Sonys, or samsungs?

Phony second hand batteries that some Chinese company puts their own wrapper and phony specs on.
Any advice on where to purchase good authentic batteries for my vaping? You just scared me with this whole rewrapping thing.... Lol worried I'll just be buying another bootleg rewrapped 18650.

Jman, another curious question, not that I want to keep the batteries or anything but on the panasonics if Google says they have a 5a running current and running them parallel bumps it up to 10a right? So I put that on the ohms calculator, 10a and .15 ohm coil came out to 1.5v with 15w is that not concidered safe? I'm mean just until my batteries are delivered? Or should I just leave that alone until then?

if you put in 2 pairs of batteries, that gives you a limit of 10A to work with. .15 and fully charged dual 18650 panasonic will give you 4 volts realistically will be 26A and 106W which is way too much for those batteries to handle.. and if they could it wouldn't be a very pleasant vape.

Match the Aspire tank with the aspire battery= 1 setup
Buy 2 sets of Samsung 25R
Put Samsung bats in Hexohm will work with your tobh and TFV4 safely
Also the ABS box mod same setup as above.

Also another place for trusted batteries is IMR Batteries

One thing I haven't seen you list is your battery charger, do yourself a favor and don't cheap out here, this doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive charger. Get a quality smart battery charger, one that shuts off after the battery is charged or drops into a trickle charge mode. There are several chargers on the market that do this, if you don't have one right now and are using one of the cheap chargers make sure you remove the battery from the charger as soon as it is done charging until you can get yourself a quality charger.

Running an unregulated device requires good batteries that can supply the amps needed for your build for your safety, learn ohm's law it's the only way you can safely vape on non regulated devices. Don't take your batteries to low either, some argue what the lower limits are on battery safety, I consider the cut off point max 3.2 volts but I never take mine below 3.4 volts before I switch them out.

Another thing is an ohm meter to make sure you don't have a short and to let you know what your builds are coming out at if you intend to build on some of your gear. This is very important for your safety.

I just started vaping and have a rookie
To be honest as a beginning vapor mechanical is not ideal, it's considered advanced but it can be done. You are going to have to learn Ohm's law and have the ability to test your gear to do this safely. I know I have said this before but I cannot stress this enough for a beginner.

Agreed there are lots of videos on youtube that do a great job explaining it. If you get the basics down you can use a calculator online. Make sure you stay safe. Honestly I would stay away from the unregulated mod altogether until you get more knowledge.

Another question... On the Hexohm v2.1, does the potentiometer regulate the voltage I'm putting out? I do have a ohm meter and I test it as well by connecting it to read what it's putting out but is it putting out what I dial it to?, or is it constantly outputting 8.4v since its series? Kus with the dial all they way down I get a 3.6 to 3.8v reading on fresh charged batteries and rises as I dial it up but Max's out at 6v ... Sry hope u understand my question...... Can I control the voltage out put from that side dial on the Hexohmv2.1?

Sorry I did forget to mention my chargers I have a multifunctional trust fire dial battery charger and a intellicharger-i2 as well. Are these ok? Or should I seek other?

The voltage that is being put out is dependent on the charge of your batteries. Don't think of the POT as variable voltage, it is in a way but cranked full blast it will not stay at max voltage of the device but max voltage of the charge in the batteries. The pot is more like a gate, the more open the gate the more current is allowed flow out.

So the potentiometer dial does determine the voltage output depending on where I have the dial set at right? If fully cranked obviously higher volts if dialed low then less volts right? And the intelli-i2 is good?

Yes to both questions. Intelli charger is good and the POT controls how much voltage you are pushing through your build.

Thanks again. Feeling safer now then when I started... Glad nothing bad happened, I first started out with a mech and knew nothing about ohms laws and was soooo breaking them! Thanks for the lessons and advice! Vape on

Anytime my friend, the key to everything is good batteries, knowing those batteries limits and not crossing them. Whenever you build your coil, check the resistance and input that here http://www.steam-engine.org/ohm.asp. It will tell you how many Amps that coil is drawing off the batteries. Do this all the time and you will be safe and enjoy your vaping worry free.
