maybe this is just on my end, but not happening on any other site. certain links on VU site never load completely, the spinny thing just keeps spinning forever. for example, if i click on the "Forums" link, it never stops spinning. no biggie but thought someone should know in case it's a glitch. :)

Haven't noticed it here. Maybe try clearing your browser cache and see if it still happens

I've noticed on my laptop using wi-fi, it's quite a bit more unstable then using a wired connection even though I have 15/5 and the wi-fi is at 100% signal.

Just an inherent wireless thing. :)

Could also a also be your routing, time of day, storms or outages in the area, lots of things.

Weather plays a part too, especially if you have ADSL...rainy days can wreak havoc.

If you have Cable Internet, the bandwidth is shared with others on your node, so peak hours like lunchtime, and like 5-8pm, it'll slow down.

Right on. :)

All my browsers are set to clear the cache when I close the browser, so it doesn't get too messy. ;)

@kelli - Firefox gives me more trouble than other browsers too. If you find you continue to have problems in the future, you might want to check out Opera browser. I use it a lot, and it seems to be quite reliable and stable for me.

I can totally relate! Why can't things work like they do in the tech advertisements where everyone is smiling all day and everything is fast and operable!?

Opera 12.17 (before they Chrome-ifyed it) is my daily driver for browsers. Has been since Opera fit on a 1.44mb floppy. ;-)
But, I find FF30 is very smooth with VU, even more so than Opera.

Of course, if you are running an old Pentium 4 with 1 gig of RAM and onboard video, not much is gonna help ya. ;)

I used to use Opera up until a couple of years ago when it suddenly went slow. (Did you know at one time you had to pay for Opera?). Then I moved to Firefox. That went slow after an update this year. I'm now using the Google chrome browser. What's next up?

Yup, switched to Chrome back about 2 years ago, minimal problems, works well

I'm still using FF and Opera on the big PC, but tried Pale Moon (which is a offshoot of FF) on my old and slow laptop today and it loaded VU just nicely. :)
Basically, it's a de-bloated version of FF.

http://www.palemoon.org/

It's compatible with most add-ons and extensions and has a migration tool for your FF profiles. (if you can't do it manually)
