Need help with my Kraken

Hey guys this is my first post but my kraken is giving me the shits.
Ive tried countless times to build it and watched hours of youtube but the kraken wont do what its supposed to.
Even though the guys say on youtube "Its easy" and "you will have fun rebuilding your Kraken"
Are they for real ill have more fun walking on broken glass with bare feet than rebuild my kraken.
Ive been rebuilding for quite a while now and can build micro coils with my eyes closed but that kraken haunts me .
Im using mesh as a wick or what is supposed to be a wick but cant get it to wick . I love the clean taste of mesh and the kraken works well when i directly drip on the coil until it runs dry , i tilt, turn it up side down ,shake it ,roll it ,throw it after all that i try to rebuild my kraken again.
Anyone with some advise or even better can some one build my Kraken because im cracking it with this fucking Kraken
Is stainless steel rope better wick ?
Thanks
oh and love the forum but i hate my Kraken

I used my Kraken for about 3 weeks before I gave up on genesis style atomizers all together. I liked them when I could get them to work which was few and far between. I use RDAs now almost exclusively and occasionally use my kayfuns.

I wish I had some advice for your Kraken woes other than box it and get an RDA.

Thanks soulkarve
In a way I feel better because I'm not alone with not being able to get a genesis to work and I'm sure there are a lot more like us out there .
Kraken is boxed and the RDA is working hard

You probably know to check for this, but make sure your mesh isn't touching the bottom of the tank or the sides of the wick hole - you want your tube of mesh to be as wide as possible without the possibility of shorting on the wick hole sides. Also make sure your tube of mesh isn't crimped - if you wrap the coil around it too tightly, or accidentally bend it during installation, that can mess up the capillary action and it won't wick well.

I actually *don't* like the taste of mesh and found it to be a bit of a faff, so I run my Krakens with cotton these days, but I did run them with mesh for the first 3-4 months... like all attys (and gennies especially), it's about having the patience to figure out what works for you on each one.Regular RDAs are, and always will be, far more "wick-and-go" than any genny.

Hi there. The Kraken's one of our favorite Tanks. Have you tried wicking it with cotton? We have been using our Krakens for months on the same coil (only rewick here and there). We ours with cotton touching the bottom of the tank, we found that the longer the wick the faster it replenishes the coil. Shorter wick = more dry burns.

Thanks seanchai and joowan
I tried the cotton wick method
First attempt dry hits not wicking at all, then I tried wicking again with long wick but way less thickness and it works like a dream .
I wouldn't believe it would work but I think I was blocking the capillary action with to much cotton .
Thanks guys kraken is back out of the box and I'm enjoying it .
I'll try the mesh method again keeping in mind seanchai suggestions I'll let you know how I go

Ok so I have been building with mesh for a few months now and here is a few tidbits of knowledge I have gained.

Firstly, roll your mesh around a paperclip. Don't torch it just yet, just use the bare mesh and roll it.

Once you have rolled it, you can use a torch or a lighter, just remember over torching will cause it to loose it's capillary ability (that's how the mesh wick works), so I would suggest a lighter. You can go over it more times with a gentler flame if need be, but you can't undo it.

Then before you remove the wick, wrap your coil. Keep in mind you don't want it to bite into the mesh. You want it touching, but not constraining the mesh.

The last thing (and I still mess this up from time to time) when you are connecting your leads, don't over tighten it! When you over tighten it it causes the mesh to be pulled into the deck towards the center post.

Plus do it with an empty tank as you will have to poke and prod the hot spots out. Basically you are looking so that no red glow extends past the point of where the wire touches the wick

Here is what I meant when I said I let my wick touch the bottom of the tank and a little more. When I trimmed the wick to reach down half the tank I constantly got dry hits. This way the juice goes up the wick faster.

Joowan have to thank you I'm loving the kraken now with the cotton wick
Tried a few times to do mesh wick like imedix90 discibed there getting better but the cotton wick is working every time with no problems .
Stainless steel rope a good and easy wick ?

It's not on a kraken, but this method has worked extremely well on mine.....

Micro Coil In A Genesis Atomizer Using Cotton & S…:
Thanks laurie9300 tried this method and it's the first time I got mesh to wick right.
And to imedix90 with his pointers no dry hits

We haven't used a SS rope yet, I really don't see a reason to since the cotton build is essentially a sideways RDA, that I don't have to drip.

Me I just did a 1.8 ohm micro coil with cotton wick.. the trick is to ONLY use enough to keep it from pouring out when you tip it ... vapes like a champ that way for me .
