While Michigan consumers might regard fifteen cents per 1.5 milliliter of liquid-- so the tax on a 30mil bottle is $3 ? thats not a tax that's a gouge-well same thing I guess

The Sin Tax might actually be our saving grace...if states can get their hands on a tax that they are losing from tobacco sales, it might balance out the Tobacco Bonds losses they are taking....that might encourage them to help keep our E Liquid available. Something to think about.

Sometimes when they do this they change the classification of Electronic Cigarettes to Tobacco Products. That opens up the door to ever increasing tax hikes on E-Liquids to make up for the revenue they are losing from declined Tobacco sales. As a Vaper I do not want to be classified as a Tobacco user

I don't either, but sin tax is on alcohol, tobacco, gambling, candies, fast food, soft drink and coffee....and a few others, depending on what state you are in. I am personally willing to pay a tax on my juices, if it keeps the industry from being shut down. I love my pv devices and the ability to fill my tanks, I would hate the idea of only having cigalikes that are prefilled with tobacco flavors available. I too however, do not like being looked at as a smoker, but I am sinnful lol.

Look at the party in the white house....tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend...rinse and repeat. RJReynolds is pushing for this, a tax for their mafia bosses in DC. But sometimes, when you want something bad enough, you pay the "taxes" so they don't take out your knee caps.

I will fight these taxes on e-cigs if they classify them as Tobacco Products . They can tax then at a reasonable rate without classifing them as tobacco products. In Minnesota e-liquid is already taxed with the wholesalers who sell to Brick and Mortars.

in my state, we don't pay sales taxes, however we are obligated to record and send in Excise, Pigovian and Sumptuary taxes on our own at the end of each year. I would hate to see it labeled as a tobacco product, I still think we should start deriving our nic for the juices from vegetables rather than the tobacco leaf.

Didn't pay tax on tobacco, and I certainly won't pay it for vaping.

This proposed new law would classify e-digs as a "alternative nicotine delivery substance" The tax is on the Juice only. Its quite high in my opinion. I think a 3 dollar tax on 30ml of juice is a touch high.

I read most of it… The good news is its not taxing atomizers or mods… The bad news is its a bit high. I'd like to see it closer to 5 cents per 1.5 ml

I would assume DIY could avoid it…

Other states I am not sure how that would work. But possibly.

Problem would be having local BM's bearing the burden of this new tax. Of course customers will pay and some will want to give it up and go to smoking which I am sure is what phillip morris is hoping for. (by the way they own Kraft as well).

Personally I think we can all try the email and phone call thing but in the end its all about money. I don't trust our Federal government to do the right thing.
