Rebuilding Nautilus BVC Heads?

I DIY all of my juice, but never thought about rebuilding.

I only started using my Aspire Nautilus tank a few days ago, but I was poking about in the tutorials section here today and saw that someone posted a video about rebuilding Nautilus BDC heads. I thought to myself, "I could do that!"

I should be receiving BVCs in the next day or two, and was wondering if anyone had rebuilt one of those, and if you use basically the same procedure.

I wouldn't mind rebuilding these heads to save some bucks in the long run.

Emile, I have not torn one apart yet but if you look inside the BVC it is vertical it has a similar material as a Cartomizer does I do not know how they are coiling it as I have not looked yet... It will be very different ... Its basically a Miniature cartomizer

Okay. Thank you.

I've never used a cartomizer, so I'm not sure how those are built. :)

I did get my BVCs today, so when I replace my coil next, I'll use one of those. Once that's done, I'll take it apart and see if I can figure out how to rebuild them. Or, perhaps someone will beat me to it. :D

do what you want, but, if you are going to try and rebuild the coil, why not just buy a kayfun/russian style and wrap a chimney coil

the nautilus coils are not meant to rebuild, the kayfun/russian is

just sayin:)

I'm curious also. I have rebuilt BDC but just started using bvc and have not had a bad one yet. I have kayfuns, aqua's and rsst's to bebuild but using Nautilus for convenience and rebuilding them would be great.

Ol' Rip trippers took apart the coil head in his review of the mini nautilus. He had to actually cut the top part off to get to it. I have the big one and the aspire bdc ets. I can rebuild them both but once the rubber grommet disintegrates at the bottom they are history. This is why I have invested in kayfuns and taifuns was tired of the dry hits. They were good to get me started but they will be moving on to greener pastures. I am pretty cheap and I don't like to shell out $2 or more a pop for a new coil head that may or may not last a couple of tank fulls. I also got the squape and aqua clones I think these maybe moving on out too. Not impressed.

Well I just tore apart my first BVC its weird it has a bit of poly fill in with dual coils it does not come apart like a Kanger head at all as OL' Trippers had to do would need to cut it with a Dremel and find some way to put it back together the unit itself does not come apart only the bottom pin not worth it for building these for me :)

dual coil and polyfill...in the new bottom vertical coil head?...
i thought it looked more like a single coil, and the wick is supposed to be a ceramic cloth with cotton wrapped around it to keep the shape...
way more effort to rebuild than i am willing to exert, plus good luck finding a wicking mat'l like the stuff being used..
wonder what mr readyxwick thinks about the non treated ceramic being used...
and if you try cotton, god help you if you dry hit...

Yeah, I ripped one apart, too, just to see.

I've never rebuilt ANYTHING, but I basically understand the concept, as well as understanding how things are put together.

If I rebuild for my Nautilus, it will be with BDCs, not BVCs.

BTW, replacement insulators can be bought.

Yeah you are right some weird ass cotton or alien rope wash cloth technology all I can say about looking at that coil is what the Fuuuuuuck!
you described it better than I ... Good thing I only use the Nautilus a couple times a week when I am out and about dear me... I could see someone come up with a way to rebuild these on the complex side ... Ok now after you have cut it into itsy bitsy tiny weeny pieces now take your alien cloth and wrap this barbed wire around the cotton looking stuff.. Ohh and make sure you have your Arc welder ready... Dear god

I use glassos for safety reasons (leaching), which is why I was wondering if the BVCs could be rebuilt.

I guess if someone could suggest a fairly large-capacity rebuildable with a Pyrex tank, I'd listen.

you mean rebuildable as in Kayfun where you wind your own coils etc or do you mean,. Head units that can be replaced
1.For Vape and go I suggest the Aerotank, Aerotank Mega
they are not too hard to rebuild.
I switch most of mine to stainless steel tanks on the Aerotanks just cause I like the heft and have gotten sick of a drop and break..

If you are talking a RBA there are 100's of them our there The Russin,Kayfun on and on and on..

Ah. I haven't actually looked into them yet (but WILL!), and the only ones I've chanced upon on websites have appeared to have plastic tanks.

But if glass is that easy to come by, I'm sure I'll pick at least one up! :)

For vape'n'go, I'll stick with my Nautilus with the mesh replacement tank protector. I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to rebuild the BDCs.

I've seen the SS tanks, but wondered how you check your juice? I wouldn't want to be in a hurry, take it out with me, and discover I have no juice!

after taking apart the nautilus mini bvc head assy. i had a scary thought...
is this ceramic cloth mat'l treated properly and safe to use...
dont have enough clout to get an answer from aspire...
anybody on this forum have the ability to find out the facts about this mystery wicking mat'l?...
maybe i am being paranoid, but, until i find out for sure what this shit is, i will be retiring the nautilus mini...

The stuff they use I would assume does not need to be heat treated. ReadyXwick(XC-116/132) needs to be treated because it original military and commercial application puts a casing on it and you have to burn it off to use it safely. Ceramic in its natural state is just that, ceramic.

I too would LOVE to learn how to rebuild the coils the Nautilus Aspire Big Tank. That would save a lot of money on replacement coils!

Is there a kayfun RBA that's around 20mm diameter? Oh, and can I have a pyrex tank with that also please?
20mm is about as big as I can fit into my VTR. (Nooo, I don't want to modify it...)

the 2.1 kayfun would be an awesome addition to that vtr
there are a couple good clone/replica 's out there
