I have a Vapor Shark DNA 200. I just want to say that I love this device. The 510 connection broke and I sent it in for repairs. The frustration began with tracking the package, it was a USPS tracking number that always came back as though it didn't exist. I hated that. I receive my DNA 200, it came with a piece of paper that says: "All functionality tests perfectly in the device. Thank you for choosing Vapor Shark!"
I unwrap the device, and press the firing button - screen does not illuminate. Fuck. Maybe its in stealth mode? Nope. I upload the new firmware, and you would think during reboot it would display the boot up on the screen, nope.
I'm an electronics technician so I go for it and pull the battery out, unscrew the board cradle and start inspecting. The display ribbon cable is not connected to the board. I make the connection, reassemble and it's working fine. It's not a ribbon cable that can easily come out, because the connection clamps down on the ribbon cable after you slide it into the connector.
How can you perform all functionality tests and receive satisfactory results without the display plugged in?
There's my rant - I'm very disappointed with Vapor Shark's repair team, especially a technician with the initials KP.
