In need of some help.. newbie here.

So like the title says, I'm new to this, I started vaping a week ago, and up until today, all has been good.
For the past 10+ years me and my girlfriend have been 1-2 pack a day smokers. I've had 6 cigarettes in the past week thanks to this magic pen... but all is not good, I have no cigs, I have no vape..
I had started out with a single flavor (blue raspberry) from a local tobacco store, and it was great for the past week, until I started to run out, so I picked up a cheap cappucino one to hold me over for a little while.
I did a small amount of searching online to find a lower price than my local places (10ml bottle was $9-13), I found a website called VapeWild, and decided to place an order, figured hey, what could go wrong.

So here I am with 16 different flavors, all light colors, mostly all clear ones, all 50/50 blend.
Flavors I have tried: Banana Candy, Ice Cold, Red Rope Candy, Pina Colada, Dragon Juice, USA Blend Tobacco.
Flavors I have not tried: Winter Green, Freckled Lemonade, Wrecking Ball, Mystery, Bloody Good Orange, Professor Snipe's Slytherin Sauce, Root Beer Float, Butterscotch (only dark color), Strawberry Waterfelons, Zebra Stripe Gum.

For the sake of hopefully simplifying things, here's a picture of what I have:

8HZsHR1.jpg

The Green Pen is marked as eGO-T brand, and has a KangerTech Mini Protank 2 on it.
The Silver Pen is marked as VaperMate brand, and has an Aspire K1 Glassomizer on it.
The Black Pen is marked also as VaperMate brand, I'm not sure what tank it is, it came with it, it has 2 long wicks on a long post inside the tank.
Both VaperMate are advertised as 1100mAh, eGO-T I have no idea.

Please keep in mind I have no clue what I'm talking about, I just listed everything as detailed as I possibly can.
Note: Throughout this next explanation, I have let the fluid sit in the pen for about 10 minutes each time, also making sure everything is completely dry after rinsing/cleaning.

So my first attempt was the Banana Candy in the black pen, I disassembled my tank, rinsed everything, filled it, first hit tasted burnt. Kept puffing but not inhaling, still burnt after 30+ hits. Thought maybe the fluid was junk, so emptied, cleaned, went to red rope candy, same thing, emptied, cleaned, went back to the blue raspberry to check if coil was scrap, it tasted how it has for the past week. Smoked the rest of it and am now out of blue rasp.

Next attempt was Ice Cold in the Silver pen, worked great, tasted great, smoked until it was empty, cleaned it out, tried Pina Colada, tasted burnt.. Emptied, switched to a cappucino flavor I bought locally and had before, seemed fine, emptied, cleaned, tried dragon juice, burnt.

Next attempt was USA Blend Tobacco in Green pen, immediately burnt with the Kanger tank, which was brand new, had a brand new coil. Switched the coil with brand new spare one, same exact thing..

Tried several variations of switching batteries and tanks around, emptying and cleaning tanks and swapping fluids... all are now burnt tasting.
Is it me? Is it the juice?
I've been puffing on 3 different flavors of burnt to get my nicotine and it's starting to get to me.

Is it bad for me to be rinsing everything off every time I swap flavors? Am I doing something wrong?
I've watched so many youtube videos and read so many articles and tips, and everyone does things differently. One local store says it's fine to take everything apart and soak it all (except battery obviously), another says do not get coils wet. Some people online say dry burning is good, others say it's bad.. I have no idea what to do with so much clashing information..

If none of this makes any sense, it's because I'm suffering from partial nicotine withdrawl.. Sorry..

Any and all help, tips, pointers, advice, etc are very greatly appreciated, and I thank you in advance.

Well 1 don't dry burn your coil heads that are in those tanks, when I first started I did that & they burned & sucked!
Yes when cleaning the parts out, DON'T get your coils wet - leave em be!

I only tried dry burning 2 or 3 times, it sounded scary so I haven't done it since haha, good to know.
Also good to know.. I've been getting the coils wet for the past week and it has seemed to not harm them, but I will refrain from getting them wet now, thank you. I wish this weren't so complicated, lol..

The problem your running into is your wicks are getting wet and your not properly drying them. You can get them wet but if you do you need to let them sit for a day or so to let them dry out.. if not you get what's happening to you, your wick is wet so it can't wick the juice properly and your just vaping water and burning your wick. Next time you switch flavors just wash the tanks and leave your wicks alone or replace your wicks all together..
Hope you can get back to vaping soon I feel your pain.
BTW welcome to VU, glad to see your trying to kick the stinkys.

If they are still having the same burnt problem, you may have scorched your wick in wich case you need to go get new coil heads they are ruined, but you can take the whole thing apart rinse the coils out then take a blow dryer and dry the coil out really good make sure the wick is very dry and then prime them with juice (prime just means drop a little juice directly on the coil) then reinstall them and fill your tank just a little to see if it is tasting right.. if that doesn't work your wick is scorched, and we'll at least it will be lessened learned.

There are 2 types of "dry burn' though it's really "Dry Burn" and "Dry HIt".

Basically the Good "Dry Burn" is for people who make their own coils, the coils last longer than the wicking material so you can re-wick a coil, in between you "dry burn" it by firing it with no wick in there, this makes cleaning it a breeze.

The bad "Dry burn" or "dry hit" is firing your coil with no juice in it. This simply burns the cotton. Your juice acts to cool down the coil and keeps it from getting to a temperature that would burn for the most part (assuming things are working correctly). So if it's burning, it's bad.

It's all a bunch of made up jargon that's new and not always consistent. But I can't imagine someone promoting burning the cotton, quite sure it's just bad terminology there.

As for getting coils wet, yes you can clean them by boiling in distilled water or soaking in a strong vodka type alcohol. When you do this though you need to let them completely dry out. If they're wet with water (not sure on alcohol) they simply don't suck in the juice, I could take guesses as to reasons why but regardless I've made the mistake too and learned from it.
