Airflow is the same as a velocity. It is just a velocity RDA sitting on top of a tank.

Down side... I had an awesome sneezing fit while holding it and dropped it. Boom went the pyrex and of course they didn't send a second tank... So only got to vape it like a RDA. Very smooth and nice but can't test out the wicking.

Gotta love concrete floors...

I got an itch, so I had to build something. So I decided I needed some framed alien staple pics for the website. I have to reshoot them in tomorrow's sunlight to make them salesworthy for the promo pics, but here's what I ended up with. I only got about 16cm of usable wire out of it. The last pic shows what the approximate stretch looks like for this type of build.

(6) 0.5x0.1 cores, 2x26g frames, 36g alien wrap

30K//44G n80 Fused Claptons in the Goblin Mini tank. I am super impressed with this build. In the video i was only vaping it at 31W, and the flavor and vapor production were very impressive. I enjoy the challenge of working with this tank, and i certainly enjoy the results :p

Im really surprised you enjoy the GM, even with Micro/Nano Claptons and FCs I couldnt deal with the draw and the wick would always dry out fast. I gave it to the wife and always put some 26g 6 wrap 2mm ID coils in it.

I've been looking to do smaller variations of claptons and aliens to fit into smaller post holes, however, the lack of surface area has me wondering how it will perform. How does it vape?

T%hey perform pretty well actually, I use them in devices that cant handle larger coils like the Goblin Mini, TFV4, Coilheads and more. It still does the same job but usually for devices that cant fit them normally, so they can benefit from these also.
Ive posted this in a million places:
Using thinner outer wrap also allows the wires to be used in smaller RTA/RBA/RDA's without compromising the vape quality. Using a thinner core you caise raise the Resistance and also make the overall size off the Fused Clapton smaller. If you can fit a parallel 28g in a RBA/RTA then you can fit a 2 x 30g/40g Fused Clapton and make the experience much more flavorful and warm. I call these smaller Claptons/Fused Claptons Micro and Nano Claptons/Fused Claptons. Giving the same vape in RTA/RBAs that didnt have the ability for those types of coils before can now enjoy the same type of experience with these used in them.

Nice clean helix, it's the same wire that got me into building complex stuff.
Where you went wrong with the staple cores is that they should be stacked vertically for optimal juice flow into the wires.

On the next ones try to keep them like this.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ive been trying like crazy to get the staples to stay vertical but as soon as i start to wrap the coils they shift sideways. what am i doing wrong?

There are likely a few things happening there, and all part of the reason staple wires are difficult.

First of all you have to make sure there is no slack in your helix wire that binds everything together. If the cores are able to move around at all, you better believe that they will. To make it easier I would suggest using multiple wires helixed along the length of your wire instead of just the single that you are using now. Each wire goes into the next open groove of the twisted wires (hope this makes sense). The example I posted earlier has 5 helix wires.

Second, you need to keep as much tension on the wire while wrapping it as you can. Squidoode and a few others I've watched on YouTube use a vice on the table to hold the wire and then pliers to pull on the other end. The reason you need to do this is because the wire naturally wants to fall over when wrapping so you really have to muscle it into place. Essentially you end up stretching the outer part of the ribbon slightly as you wrap around your driver, since the outer edge covers more distance than the inner one. You will never feel the stretch happen, you just have to take it slow, and practice helps.

I find plain staple wire to be the hardest of the ribbon variations to wrap, with the framed staple probably being the easiest. The stapled helix for me falls somewhere in between, with it being pretty easy if your helix wires are super tight.

makes sense. i actually used 2 wraps on that build. because i used higher guage wire to increase resistance i wasnt able to tighten the helix twists as much, so they fall more horizontal than vertical. 2 more would have worked but i was worried they would snap while wraping the coils. ill keep at it though and watch some more videos for tips.

still a fantastic vape though. 30k twisted framing 4x0.4k ribbon and wrapped with 36k. 5 wraps on 2.3mm ID dual coil comes out to 0.11 ohms.

Quite the size difference. The only time I've used a core smaller than 28g is addition to a cable. After that alien my next endeavor is the staggered staple fused Clapton to throw in the aeronaut. I've been hankering to try it since I saw squiddude's build tutorial on it. But I'm gonna have to try this when my next shipment of higher gauges get here.

Did a little side by side action. Both of these fused claptons have dual 26g cores. On the right is 36g outer wraps, on the left is 44g. I just thought it was crazy how big of a difference there was with the end result. After wrapping the 44g, the 36g felt like rope haha

Dude now I know why you build so damn good. Your the reincarnated Jesus of the vapers lmao

Forreal though another perfect build! I don't see how some of you guys work with such small wire. And as always keep up the awsome work!

How often do you dry burn?
What juices do you use, I mainly have sweet juices and coils dont last me more than a few days before being gunked up.

go figure i finally get a stapled helix to turn out and it ohms too low to use as dual coil oddly enough though i accidentilly found something that might make them easier. i used 4 0.4 ribbons for the core and while i was wraping them, one of them slidbehind the other 3 forming something that looks kind of like this. :)III:) using 28k twisted for the frames and 34k for the wraps. looks fantastic but its only good for single coils. dual 5 wraps on 2.5mm ohmed out to 0.073. would take almost 60 amps to fire.

Yer im about the same, but thats only a few days max for me. I normaly just make a new coil when im using standard builds but do try and make the more fancy last a good few burns.

Trying to map out my 430 SS coil build for my Griffin that was nice enough to show up a day early!

I noticed something odd while building my coil on Wire Wizard so that I could get my CSV for my Lavabox. I notice the power curve for SS is so smooth and gradual... I also notice that it vapes like crap-o-la with this power curve... I loaded one up for my Crown and it initial hits and then does nothing. produces vapor but no flavor or heat. Very sad... power mode and it is money...

The first graph shows a FC buil with 28 awg SS430 wrapped in 40k.

The second screen shot is the curve for Nickle... why is nickle so drastic and not SS or am I just not getting the proper results hence the poor TC experience with my Lavabox. I want to build this Griffin tonight and want to have my TC SS build!

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Jesus...I just make a build and throw it in and check the resistance after....Im usually in the 1.2-.15 Ohm range when building for the Griffin...

I just built the Crius for the Mini Wolf also.. Its a .3 22K 8Wrap/3mm ID, I havent touched this tank in over a month...

Build should come out around .15 ohm. I have the same build in my freakshow. In TC on the xcube II it turns the flavor to 11. Can't get it working on the dna mod yet. Booooo

The curve is much more gradual on SS because of its TCR.

Basic TCR values for different wire types
Ni200: 620
Ti: 350
NiFe30: 320
SS 316/317: 105
Ni80: 0
Kanthal: 0

As the heat increases your resistance changes according to TCR. So Nickel is changes more than SS will, making it harder for your mod to guess the temp.
Also keep in mind there are more variations of SS than listed above, so your 430 is going to behave differently than 316.

Keep trying different curves basically is what I'm saying lol

The fact that that is a sleeper makes it even better. I never use 3 post rda's, so it never occurred to me that people still wrap like that. Very cool.

Lordy! I go thru 15-20ml a day and rewick maybe once a week if i like the build. That sweetener can be a coil killer tho which was my motivation for getting off pre built heads and tanks altogether for that matter. Im also lazy...
