OK, this isn't to debate whether or not the 20A 3100mah Efest battery is a rewrapped 4A LI-Ion Panasonic cell, which I'm not so keen on saying it is, a simple stress test of mine handles 20+A with ease and pushes 8A at least, daily without issue, for months now. Anyway, the "head honcho" over at the ECF is AGAIN, just saying shit to every user over there, obviously without any fact checking what so ever! Like it or not, ECF has a following and if "staff" are going to make statements likes this, they should be checked before you go telling new vapers shit like this.

There is no such battery! Efest does not distribute any such 3100mah 35A cell. I know it has been addressed at least twice, but seems to have fallen on deaf ears. A simple Google search would have cleared this up... Misinformation is worse than no information.

I think it's this one that they are all crying about.
http://www.amazon.com/Efest-Purple-3100mAh-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B00KC00OOA

As usual they don't have their info straight.
Kind of like with the dripper/sub ohm warning!

He was/is seriously suggesting that people build drippers at 1.5+ohms!!!

You would either need 20 wraps on each of the dual coils for a normal gauge wire
or that cheap 40ga or whatever wire Fasttech keeps giving away with their drippers.

I guess next he will be saying that silica is the only known 'safe' wicking material!!!!

I feel sorry for new vapers. 2 years ago when i started it wasn't as bad but I still fell for their "professional" opinions and spent a couple hundred dollars on total junk before I finally found Joes blog.

I agree. It's crazy to me they would Just spew shit like that when new vapors take what they say as gospel! A simple Google search would have cleared up that confusion.
All that said I regularly push those 3100mah batteries at 8A and have done so for months. I have pushed them at ~13-14A in a mech and put a meter to it, handled it very well. Not to mention I don't think efest would market an unprotected Li-ion battery as LiMN, that would open them up to legal issues out the ass.

Efests are technically rewrapped batteries from other companies. But up until now they had been using decent cells.

I have been getting good results from the Efest batteries that I have.

Personally, I don't have a problem with re-branding as long as the battery delivers on the specs.

And just to be a total prick with no science to back it, just my own opinion, Ramie Fiber is the bestest and safesest wick material:p

This problem is a seen throughout the vaping community. People self name themselves experts when many don't have any more knowledge than the average vaper.
Most of what they say is nothing more than opinion or info they read somewhere, like that from the op. Yet, they tell it as fact.

FUCK that whole ecf crew... no seriously may they all get cancer in their genitals.
I remember in 2010 they were stirring up shit and slamming all the mod makers who did stacked batteries and pushing toward 1.0 ohms spouting all sorts of half baked bullshit and how if you modded stuff it would blow your fucking face off.

They all need warts, cancer and pubic lice for the bullshit they spout. May they suffer bad british dental work also... fuck them.

Statements like that deter sales from vendors that pay to be part of that forum. They are in a position in which they need to be a bit more responsible as to what they say. Or they can just shut the fuck up and not comment on shit they have no clue about.
At this point I'm beginning to question if these people are even vapers...

While my favorite is 1.0-1.1 ohms, I do build drippers and other atties with resistances like that just fine.
Remember when a "LowResistance" 510 atomizer was 1.5Ω ?

The IGO-L I'm vaping right now on my K100 has a single 1.4 ohms contact coil in it. Not 20 wraps.

Not everyone has to do dual-coils or sub-ohm vaping ya know. ;)

If you wanted dual coils at 1.4Ω you would have to build 2 - 2.8Ω coils.
That would be doable with 32ga wire.
I would even attempt it with 30ga.
I usually build with 26ga and that would require at least 14 wraps to pull off a single coil 1.4Ω build.

I do remember when 1.5Ω was considered the low end of the spectrum.
Unfortunately that was in 2010! right about where ECF has been stuck at since then:eek:

Still have mine...works as good as new. Wore the plating nearly down to the brass in spots, but otherwise still works fine on the two original Smoketch batteries. =)

I thought 1.5 Ohm Bridge-less atomizers were the shit when they came out, great dripping vape, beat the hell out of my ego batteries.

I use the 20 amp 3100 Mah in my 30 watts and less mods. No problems and they extra mah helps extend the vape time between charges.

Yep, the cisco spec, then the bridgeless one from Empire Mods were my personal choices. Only lasted about a month, though.

i may be wrong but, i was under the impression Sony changed its policies and only sells 18650's to OEM's for battery packs for the use of their end products. my interpretation was that it was move to distance themselves from liability issues.
some sources cited that Sony didn't want them used in mods. i take is that was pure PR on Sony's part as flashlight mod'ers,
R/C car users and, various other hobby users have been using and abusing these type batteries long before modern e-cig technology
came about.

i agree it was most likely PR move, however, they have now come forward and said that production of the 18650 is back underway and they intend on not only selling to OUR market, they also intend on spending time developing for our market! Great news for all of us!
