Add pcb module to r200 or koopor 200

Hey guys and gals just received my r200 in the mail and come to find out it doesn't charge via usb. To say i'm pissed is an understatement i checked there site before hand if it did and it def confirmed. But now after they shipped them out they changed there site but even some reviews state it charges vi usb so i know im not alone on this.

Although i could probably get a refund at this point i still really like this mod and haven't given up hope. The quality of the r200 is awesome it's light, compact, accurate and easy to disemble. The easy disassembly was important because if a micro switch goes bad (typically the 1st thing to go bad) i can solder on a new one.

Sorry for the long rant lol but my main question is does anyone have any advice on soldering a pcb module to the existing usb. From a quick look in the mod it seems i could make room for the extra hardware but to say i'm intimidated wpuld be an understatement. If you have any advice it would be very helpful also if you know of a good pcb that might fit the bill thanks.

P.s. if you feel inclined to warn me how charging batteries via usb is dangerous thank you for your concern but idc. Please don't comment unless it's to help with adding a pcb to my mod.

Oh, it can be done, but it's not quite as simple as adding it in... Since the MOD would have no intelligence that the batteries are being charged, it would be safest to disconnect the batteries from the mod...so not as simple as just adding a usb charging PCB like the TP4056....your circuit would have to swicth the battery connection powering the mod...AND it would have to be able to handle the load of the current passing through, and have low loss..

One is a step up to get the usb to 8 volts. And the other is like you said a cut off so as to not over charge the batteries. I'm just not the greatest at soldering so been putting it off. Hopefully can get a friend to do it for me lol. Also just going to do it externally and bridge the usb to the batteries. There's not really the room to put it all in the mod.

Seems like your on your way... Too much of a pain for me, I use an external charger... Too many issues... Like batteries are in series...which presents multiple issues... what happens if a cell is bad,over or under voltage as compared to it's mate? Then again, it's probably what all, or most of the ecig manufactures do..... Also, in series you are charging 8.4 volts 2500mah at either .5 or 1.0 amp.... Going to take a LONG time, I'd guess 7 - 12 hours.... ideally, you charge each cell independently at 1 amp. I believe MOST vapers use external chargers...(sounds like a good poll)....

I think it's a bit funny/ironic....My thinking is....extra batteries, external charger.... problem solved.... external charger $10-30 dollars depending on features, and number of bays...2 extra batteries, 10$-$15... Several of my mods support USB charging... I usually don't use it, as I have extra batteries... If I didn't have extra batteries, AND used USB charging...once the batteries were dead, no more vaping for me, for the NEXT 6+ hours! What can I say, I take the easy way out......
